Threads like these are starting to make me feel really sad. There's obviously a serious demand in this game for MK4-Deception characters but with every reveal, I'm beginning to doubt that NRS have listened to fans.

I wonder if the Quan Chi reveal was a ploy to silence the MK4-D fans, "look we've included an MK4 character". Keeping it real, as good as he looks in MKX, NO ONE was gagging for more Quan Chi. At this stage, I'd be delighted and surprised to see nearly any returning character that wasn't included in MK9, but specifically:

TANYA,
FUJIN,

Seriously, these 3 are turning into the Rain of MK9. Still hoping they'll happen.

There are other that I would like to see, but this is the one I really want in the game (along with confirmation of Kuai Liang, which I almost got on Quan Chi's trailer with the revenants quote).

I don't care about Bo at all, Havik... Meh.

But the rest shall come all together, maybe Dairu too.

i was really hoping to meet most of the MK4 & D characters. but we have new characters instead. will have to wait and see.

i think realistically speaking we'll get Fujin, Shinnok, and Tanya (not that I like her character or her design in the past at ALL, but she's apparently really requested).

I really liked the Havik and Hotaru fewd as it gave an interesting sub-plot and touch to the series. I highly doubt they'll bring in any MKDA characters save for maybe Bo Rai Cho.

But the one person I would now definitely love to see is Shujinko! I know people don't like him, but i dun care, we need the old guy back!

Anyone else would have to be significantly overhauled for me to be excited. But I'm not expecting more than 4 MK4-MKA characters, including Quan Chi, with the way the reveals are going at the moment. I expect DLC to predominantly be missing MK9 characters, so I would hazard a guess that we won't be seeing many of these characters for a very long time.

Yes! Fujin players should be able to choose from tornado, soulnado and sharknado variations. He could rip random buildings from stages and pick up cattle from fields in his tornado form. The Soulnado variation revolves around ripping off Ermac's abilties. Sea creatures are projectiles in the Sharknado variation.

It almost seems like NRS is ashamed of the MK4-Armageddon era. It's frustrating to me. I know most of the characters from those games weren't very popular, but I think quite a few of them could be salvaged thanks to the better design team and increased resources NRS has, as compared with the Midway days.

Since I believe the biggest opposing force this time comes from the Netherrealm, Shinnok will be the biggest thread, Quan-Chi being his right hand in command, we have his bodyguard Scorpion (maybe some oni) and his own little cult: The Brotherhood of the shadows: Kia, Jataaka, Sareena and Ashrah may play a secondary role or at least could make a cameo.

The Earth forces got severely weakened so I expect new reveals from this side, Cyrax is a cyborg and Fujin is a god so 25 years won't affect their power like with regular humans (Kai, Kenshi, Sonya, Cage). A new white lotus rep is very likely.


We have Outworld divided in a power struggle to take Shao-kahn's place, that could still oppose the Netherealm without joining forces with Earthrealm: Shokans, Tarkatans, Centaurs, Reiko, Reptile, Kothal Kahn.


Edenia: Pretty much leaves Tanya and Rain. We know Tanya will support the biggest power. I wonder who will be in power now that there is no royalty, (Milleena?).


Chaos realm: Havik is relatively popular and has a sick gimmick, his motives are easy to include in almost any story.

Order realm: I personally think we might see a new rep (if anything at all) but not any from deception, since there aren't as popular and his motivations are relatad to internal conflicts in the realm.
