I don't care if it happens in MKX or a next installment of the franchise. But it must happen sooner than later, cuz I'm tired of this repeating bull$hit. I can easily live with some iconic characters, skipping a game. It happened before, so I'm okay with that.

But if NRS continues to disrespect its own established creations in order to shove new characters down my throat, why should I respect them? I'll find another franchise to invest my time, feelings and money.

There's no point of having a ton of new characters (again!), who, in the next games, will be completely forgotten or killed for cheap shock value or to make space for the next wave of new faces. In MK it's not something new, but happens again and again and again... It's called George R.R. Martin's Game of Thrones Syndrome and this is something I don't fancy at all.

Price is too reasonable and I'm not sure I want another team working on those characters. Even if NRS is too busy, I'd rather not have the characters than have the characters made by an unknown studio.

$10/character would be really, really steep pricing.
Injustice and MK9 both had characters at $5 a pop. Doubling the price for a single character would be an insane business practice. If that were the case, almost everybody would wait for the Komplete edition before obtaining the DLC.

I don't know about you, but I am not willing to pay 1/6 of the game's goddamn launch price on one character. If, say, you were to buy all 10 (supposedly) at $10 each (again, supposedly) that's almost double the price of the game itself.
By your logic, they should price the game at $240 (at least) for all the work they'll be putting into the main roster. I would happily purchase any and all DLC characters at $5-7 each (whether or not I like them,) but at $10, I'll wait a year for the supreme ultimate komplete version.

10 characters at $5 a piece sounds a lot more plausible. Really stepping it up from MK9/Injustice. It's only four more characters than a new IP and MK9 sold extremely well. I remember Ed saying "If we knew how well they would have sold, we would have done way more."

10 is a bit much but look at all the icons that clearly won't make the cut based on strictly roster. I could totally see this happening to push sales while also maintaining our new direction and cast. A good way to bridge generations of MK casts.

Really? There is no other fighter like MK. All other fighter games are sappy and have NO Fatalities! Supermoves are really bland and they don't give you that "OMFG!" factor.

5 chars for 10$ would be great. But it seems too good to be true.. unless DLC character's only have one variation.. then it would make more sense.

It reads to me like they are saying they have a separate team devoted to DLC characters. That means they are still NRS. I don't get why people jumped to the conclusion that it wouldn't be NRS making the DLC chars. You see that a lot in games nowadays with the rise in DLC packages. DICE did the same thing with Battlefield 4 making DLC maps during production of the actual game. It is just a division of labor; I am sure both partys still have weekly progress meetings and such.. probably work in the same building.

$10 per character: 3 variations, revamp designs plus the general stuff (x-rays and finishing moves.

$5 per character gives you: normal moveset, barely any revamp on character design plus the general.

This is just my theory of how I think it will work.

I think it would be fair to get 5 characters for $10 a piece, considering the work that'll go into them.

NRS can work on these characters after their initial work that they are doing, as well as after the initial DLCs.

While I am not exactly agree with what ReignInBlood1986 has written, I find quite hilarious idea, that if you don't like classic MK characters you are not fan of MK.
I don't like a lot of them either. I hate the likes of Baraka, consider Liu Kang quite bland and boring protagonist, I think Shang Tsing has outlived his usefulness and it was right decision to kill him and so on. Aparently it makes me not good fan of MK?

Sorry, kid, but for me MK is not some overrated characters, whose fame comes from the fact that thery were in the first games of the series. For me MK is all its characters, worlds, gameplay, music, style, finishers and so on. I could care less if classic characters would be completely wiped out from the series. As long as MK has it's core ideas, which made it unique, I can accept MK in any shape and with any characters.

That's exactly my point, I feel the same way, except I love ALL 60+ characters no matter how lame I think some of them are. I am not biased toward any particular era of MK, I love MK as a whole. Some of you guys think that killing of characters and adding more makes MK better, but I think adding more charcters just further EXPANDS the MK universe.

In fact you know how they have encyclopedias for Marvel and DC Comics? I think they should do the same for MK. I'd buy that shit! (excuse my language)

I'm not ashamed to admit that MK is on my mind everyday. I'm an MK geek. It's Mortal Kombat! If any thing would get me aroused besides my wife, it's this. Lol jk but you know what I mean.

Yup, pretty much. I was like 4-5 years old watching my older brother play MK2 with his friends. Good times.

Same story here. My first time playing was when I finally got my older brother to let me play and I pissed him off because I stayed in a squatted position and did nothing but try to uppercut him. XD

My introduction to MK world was through sticker album MKII in 1993, I think. Even without playing the game itself I was hooked by story and characters. I played MK game several years later - it was MK3 on SNES and that's how Sektor has become my favorite character.

LMAO that uppercut bit was funny. One morning, my brother left his SNES behind for whatever reason with MK1 in it. Some how I was able to figure out how to turn it on and start playing with my other bro about my age. Had zero idea what we were doing.

Anyway two of my sisters walk in. One older, one younger. Both wanted to play Super Mario instead. Naturally we argued about it until another one of my older brothers came in and was like "I'm taking this shit! Now ain't nobody playing!" Never seen it again lol
