To be more rpecise, angels in Abrahamic religion are NOT nice, kind and cheerful creatures. There is a very good reason why most of the time they adress the prophets with DO NOT FEAR.



Also, here is the deal. Counterparts. It is absolutely obvious nowadays that once you encounter something that has a binary opposite the fanbase expects the other. This is why we do not need earth elemental Tremor, and so on, and so on.

That's...not really the same subject. Granted I agree with you that angels should be portrayed as something more nuanced and dangerous than the common, saccharine-sweet image of people in white robes playing harps...

But he was complaining that the very subject of angels, or angel vs. demon stories, are clichéd.

My counter-argument is that everything in MK is based on a pop culture cliché by design.
