It's not that all of us are tired of Raiden. Everybodys different, but for me like some others said, it's pretty much the thought of what he could be if NRS stoped fuckin' around.
I know a lot of people say things like, "Fujin is just a wind Raiden" but in a series where almost every character if not every character is an incarnation of someone else the argument is hardly valid. Heck, one of the things I like about Fujin is how well he complaments Raiden. Did you see chapter one? Their kharacters work so well together. I don't see why both of them can't be protectors since Ray doesn't wanna be an elder god, but I don't mind if it's just Fujin as long as Raiden still has a great and important roll.
Another thing is design. To me he looks cool. It's why so many people fell in love with Erron first sight. Design is not everything,Âa but it is an important factor.Âa With his awsome redesign and display of powers in chapter one, it just makes us want him more.
ÂaPlus I'm a sucker for god characters. (Wuv you Shinnok!) The gods are kinda an unexplored "species" in the mk universe. In Deception we got to go around the realms and got an idea of the people even in hell. Everyone except for the gods. I want to see more.
Well, those are some of my reasons. ^_^
That's over simplfying it. There is nothing wrong or illogical abot liking the character because we like his potential. A character not being playable does not automatically qualify them for a bigger fan base by default. If that was the case Tremer would have beat Tanya on the vote polls. We explained our logic and why we want him to be playable.
Someone comes up with a cool idea we want to see it excuted. It's advertisement, Fujin is basically that awsome looking/sounding movie that never fucking comes out cuz it keeps getting cancled or post poned for reasons the companies won't explain.

I understand his potential. Being apart of an unexplored group, having a good design with an interesting style, and he was awesome in the first chapter, but to me he just feels like a concept of a character rather than a full character. He could be to Raiden what Quan Chi is to Shang Tsung, and I would love to see that happen. Plus, Having another god character to explore, like some of you have said, would be a very welcome addition.
However, I don't see how having great potential puts him over some of the guys like Nightwolf who has tapped into his potential with more to go, someone like Tayna who had just as much potential and is starting to realize it, or even someone like Reiko who also has massive potential that is only just now being noticed by the comics. I just look at the row he is in and can't see how off of potential alone he beat any of them except Kai and Tremor. They all just seem to be more rounded characters who could be just as amazing as him.
This is an interesting comparison. So, if there was a poll about supreme horror games would you vote for Silent Hills because of how great P.T. was and how Kojima and Del Toro could make an awesome game, or would you vote for something that already did come out and was a great game like Amnesia or one of the original Silent Hill games?

For me it's because the concept of said potential is more interesting to me. I like Nightwolf, but my personal taste doesn't lead me to value him as much as a would with other character concepts that do interest me.
None of the guys you listed are gods. We have humans, edenians, and outworlders, but Raiden is usually the only playble god. I want to see more gods. I mean, we don't have to go mk ninjas and have like 6,396,243 gods on the roster, but more than 2 would be nice.
With that said, I do like Havik, Reiko, and Tanya. (Just not as much as Fujin.) And I love me some Hotaru, and I would be happy if he came back.

Fujin fans were complaicent we thought he would be in mk x after the leaked mk 9 sound byte hence no petition was created as we felt he would be in,tremor had a low chance so tremor fans had no choice but to push for tremor. Fujin fans should of been more vocal but we thought he would be in since its based on mk 4 but now we are starting to become more vocal.
To me, what Fujin primarily is is an "Air Mac", lol.
Easily one of the most overrated characters in the series. We get other characters like Jacqui accused of being generic, but what exactly is so memorable about Fujin's design and moveset?
Fans are cutting him slack for things other characters are hated for. Jade's said to be nothing more than a sidekick, yet what is Fujin other than Raiden's sidekick? Oh right, he could be his replacement. Is that what his "potential" all comes down to? Replacing Raiden?
Yes, I know that's the primary purpose of the offsprings, but they're individualized enough from their parents (cousin in Kung Jin's case) to not feel like they're strictly replacements.
Not saying Fujin couldn't be improved and work as the intended replacement for Raiden, but it does seem like fans would be fine with him being nothing more than that, while bashing the offspring for fulfilling that same purpose.
Finally, there's never an explanation given as to what exactly makes Fujin more worthy of returning than other underused characters like Hotaru, Nitara, Ashrah, and Daegon.

He is a elder god, we need more of them personally I dont want fujin to replace raiden I want them working together. He has Air which is a versatile element and we need another elder god, Fujin isn't just a sidekick he is wise unlike raiden who screws things up sometimes as in the comic he even admits that he "never listens" and its like fujins his father. The potential is huge and its through the air element not "replacing raiden" it was that he was meant to be they didn't. His armageddon design is one of the best designs in mk in my opinion (Mk x is alright but then I realised its basically a re-done mk4 fujin) his moveset has huge potential watch avater the last airbender! Summing it up the reason he is not generic is because he has an element and is a god who are a unique set of species which alot of people want but we really only have 1 hero god which is raiden and they are almost brother like which is based on japenese mythology! but nrs choose to throw all of that in the bin.

Raiden is an iconic MK character, why in the hell would you replace him? He made some mistakes, but thats poor writing not raidens fault.
But Fujin is awesome looking and has nice potential moves. And he is a nice assist for raiden i guess,
I hope they add fujin, but than agian im so afraid he ends up looking like an kung jin clone. Maybe fujin is better of in the next MK instalemnt.

Yeah I don't get the replacing raiden thing either but yeah the thing why we are pissed that he isn't in mk x is because its been 9 years since he was last playable plus he has been trolled 100 times and people in mk9 were telling me they were 99.9% sure fujin would be in Mk X so I was like ok but for 9 years I have been getting this "Oh he will be in the next mk" and its really starting to annoy me

It strongly depends on what that vote is for. Raiden losing the tornamnet is inconsequential.Âa Nrs isn't gonna see our site and be like, "Oh, time to get rid of Raiden and put Fujin in his place."

Oh...one more thing. Its been driving me nuts. Fujin is not an elder god. Someone here keeps saying that and it's driving me nuts. Lol He's a regular god.
My reasons for disliking Fujin? Well:
Bland design.
Wind, as an ability, is little more than Ermac's telekinesis with much less precision, hence me calling him "Air Mac".
Now, I've learned that characters sharing moves isn't necessarily a bad thing if they have other qualities going for them, like a good design or story. Fujin doesn't just lack interesting moves, he also lacks those other two qualities, imo. I've already explained what I think of his story.
He's not even lame enough to be fun to kill, like Kobra, which is another reason I wouldn't want him back.
However, I've never said he couldn' be improved. I just think that as he is, Fujin's not particularly interesting, and that fans seem to like him for what they think he could be, but crucify other characters who did not immediately please them.
In short: many fans think Fujin could be great, but no characters they hate could. The hypocrisy annoys me.

This is what annoys me, He hasn't had a chance and was in a game which lacked unique movesets and you are judging his moveset?! plus the same can be said for characters like Baraka, reptile and ermac it doesn't make them a bad character its NRS poor writing at times even raiden is an Idiot because of there writing? Plus cassie cage is virtually the same as johnny but NRS made her moveset different. tbh I don't know where you are getting the "fujin fans crucify other characters" In my experience Fujin fans have been quiet and respectful of other characters. Its NRS writing not the actual character If you go search up japenese mythology of Rajin and Fujin they are based on this and its really intresting to read. and wind as a power can be used for traps and conjuring large tornados how cool would that be! he could be very mobile in the air even more than tanya, he also has a wind staff which can offer another wide range of possibilities.

I think the thing about fujin is that we've been teased with his inclusion since MK9. I remember the Poll/ list of desired characters for DLC and that even Boon posted a potential DLC list. These included Fujin.
So of course when MKX was announced and clearly it retold the events of MK4 why wouldn't we expect to see Fujin in the game? It seemed like he had a good chance to be in this game as playable but instead he just shows up in story mode as an NPC. That was a let down. But unlike other NPC's like Bo rai cho, li mei, or Sareena, Fujin continued to be teased as "unlock able" in the game by the developers through Cassie Cages fatality. So the developers themselves are messing with us.
Like other people have stated, with the redesigning of old characters and new tech for the game, Fujin could be redesigned in this game as a crazy fun playable fighter. The idea that NR could give him amazing moves to showcase his abilities unlike what we've seen in MK4 or Armageddon is what makes him so desirable. The same goes with pretty much any character from MK4 to MK Armageddon.
To put it simply, if they could take a character like Stryker who had possibly the worst reception from Fans and make him a complete badass in MK9. Then the same idea applies to Fujin. I want to see this new updated version of fujin.

Try to be a little more imaginative.
Wind as a power has so many possibilities.
- Fujin could use Wind to pull the opponents closer to him
- Fujin could use wind to keep opponents away from him
- Fujin could use wind to make himself faster
- Fujin could have an insane arsenal of air to ground moves that make him hard to contain
- Fujin could have great mobility with air dashes
And those are just a few ideas I have for Fujin. Trust me, there's so much more that wind can do.

It's really funny, because reading on all these responses, I'd say a good 90% of it boils down to this:
"Why is everyone stuck on Fujin? He's lame. People who want him in are hypocrites because they don't like Tremor/Meat/Khrome/(insert other pointless character here). Those characters deserve a chance more than Fujin because I don't like Fujin."
Hypocrites calling other people hypocrites for being hypocrites about hypocrisy.
Everyone has characters they would like to see. Most of the same people who want to see Fujin wouldn't mind seeing Chameleon, Khameleon, Tremor, or other characters in the game either. The main push for Fujin is, again, he had a story, he had potential, but he was never utilized. His only appearance other than MK4 was that god awful Armageddon. Granted, he appeared in MKX, but only in cutscenes.
He's a legit character that could really use a comeback. And when people say "he's pointless", look at Tanya and Rain. 'Nuff said.
Fujin is not in high demand. Just on this website he is.
Outside of MKO, I doubt he's as significant as he's made out to be. I mean, Tremor is way more popular and was way more in demand than Fujin. I digress, but in a nutshell Fujin is highly overrated on MKO.
He is the definition of overrated.

I see people asking for Fujin all over Twitter, Gamefaqs and Reddit. As for Tremor, all I see is hate or blind ninja love.

I've always liked Fujin. I generally like most of the magical or elemental characters, an he was a blast to play as in Armageddon.
He could've been in the game. He should've been in the game. But nope, just slap wind powers on Kitana and call it a day. Let's slap Jade's weapons on her too, for another "variation." Not happy with those decisions. Not at all.
