it would be pointless if there was a 2 player parctice mode. 2 player is used to test your skills against another person. Why would you want to help them? Besides, you can already do that in 2 player mode.

having to go to vs mode to do something is a bitch sometimes and it"ll be a much better way to practice a character with a friend

I like this idea for Offline mostly...The only benefit to having this feature as an online option is if you have a "buddy" that you'd like to teach, or get taught something from..which is cool too, if you think about "practice mode" across country//continent.

Great idea Nest, this is a must for MK8. we need to be able to pratice whats best to counter what w/ and what hits mid/high/high mid/low etc.

this type of mode would help get us ready to fight certain characters and such. like some one could be like i need to figure out how to counter dans Tanya air fireball, this 2 player pratice mode would help in finding out how to counter it properly.

atleast we should be able to program the player 2 to do what we want, like duck block at all times stand block, do a certain move over and over. how about having the pratcice dummy go into weapon.

For those of you who thought that he was talking about "Online" instead of "Offline" You shouldnt even bother posting here. That has to be the most rediculous thing i have ever heard. The simple reason for this you say? Online doesnt have PRACTICE MODE!

Anyways...

I think having a 2 player Practice mode would be great. Instead of having to keep going back to player select as you said. It would make things alot easier to understand the game alot more. For instance you could have your opponent jump,crouch,stand,throw,Etc.

I understand you could do this in 2 player mode,but without time and inf health? I like it. The only way to do this before was with Codebreaker and or Action Replay. That is a different story though.

Another idea that i would like to add to this,would be sort of like Tekken's Practice options. Maybe make it so you can set your opponents character to a dummy and then have the commands to do different things. The reason for this would be if there was a certain move or combo that you or your opponent didnt understand and therefore would be able to see it first then go ahead and try it on each other.

Im sure you all have seen Check do his combos and his testings offline right? The one thing he always said to me was "I wish that the 2 player mode had Inf Health" Therefore he would be able to do so much more with the reaction time of his opponent. The thought of killing his opponent in one combo wouldnt even be a thought and he would understand and learn alot more.

It would basically save everybody money on cheat devices because of wanting Inf health. The idea of being able to beat each other up for hours and not worrying about going back to select screen every 5 minutes and being able to set your opponent as a dummy,Im all for it.

There's just one problem with this. If you're health bars refill and you can practice w/o a time limit quiting would lead to a? Good idea though bro. Would be nice to have a sparing partner.

Remember guys that in 2d MK, you could set your power bar to infinity which is more or less 2 player practice mode.

Excellent idea. They also need to add similar options to those you find in Soul Calibur or Tekken for single player practice. Anyway, having a 2 player practice mode would allow you to set up a good number of situations in order to test move properties, safeness, countering etc. I'd definitely like to see something like this added to MK8.

They already have this offline. It needs to be online. That way people can teach other people certain combos and shit. Btw...this thread is a waste of time. Boon doesnt read any of this. He has his own ideas of what he wants to do and that is what you will get. Really did anyone ask for air kombat, Motor kombat or the ability to play as Motaro? Did anyone really want cheesy custom fatalities, to remove 3 styles, to get rid of chess kombat? No, it was what Boon wanted. MK is the game Boon wants that enough people will buy so he can sell us another game that isnt technically as refinded as VF, Tekken or DOA.

3 ~ every RETARDED STUPID FAN BOY, bitched and moaned about every character having 5 + Fatailities each. which made the MK team come up w/ the crappy current fatality system. i pray it goes back to 2 each and have them be personal like mk1-6.
4 ~ does the mk team come to the boards? YES Sareena + Meat. NUFF SAID.
5 ~ Chess Kombat was ok, but still a waste of time like all the other mini games.

Most fighting games already had this feature for a while, and I still don't understand why Ed and his crew did not add it. Anyways yeah I thought the same thing as you did with the two player practice mode.This is a must for the next MK.Lol they probably could of added this feature a lot earlier if it wasn't for the crappy mini games.

Interesting idea honestly, but at the same time you could probably just do this in vs. mode and don't log in your account therefore no stats are recorded either way. Meaning, if you lose 10 straight or win 10 straight it won't matter if you're worried about how you do against your friends.

Just don't log in and it won't count, it'll be just like practice mode. Probably the best way to practice with 2 human players right there in your home.
