IMO - Erron Black and Mileena join the 3 newbies as playable from the start. Shinnok is gonna be one of the bosses/sub-bosses and possibly unlockable after being Story Mode akin to Quan Chi in MK9.

The rest are cameos/possible DLC.

No Quan Chi or Reiko in the trailer was surprising

Very tough to evaluate it honestly, other than the obvious 4. Who gets that last spot...

That's my guess. But it's tough to imagine Johnny, Sonya, and Erron not making it.

I think Shinnok will be an unlockable. No way he's gonna be on the select screen as soon as you pop in the game. We're more than likely gonna have to work to unlock him so I think Erron is gonna take that 5'th spot.

I think it's a mistake to think ONLY five new characters shown in this are going to be playable. When Boon said that we were getting five reveals today, I'm not sure he had a quick split-second appearance by Johnny in mind.

You are likely right. Shinnok could very well be an unlockable, or the actual main boss like Kahn. So yeah, I'm on board with that idea. Erron does seem to be featured a lot in the trailer too. I agree.

Yeah I'm not of the believe that we ONLY got 5 reveals. Erron Black is 99% confirmed to me at this point, and I definitely wouldn't count him as someone who was confirmed today.

I wouldn't put too much stock in Boon again. I'm sure he knew 4 would be obvious and that by throwing the number 5 in there it would cause endless speculation until we knew for sure.

For sure Jacqui, Takeda and Jin were reveals. The other two were supposed to be Mileena and either Shinnok or Erron.

I'm putting it out there that every character we see in the trailer will be playable. When the Injustice trailer came out, Boon said just because some characters are in story mode, it doesn't mean theyre playable, and then everyone of them was. It's just Ed trolling and making us second guess what we've seen.

Um... yeah, no. There's no way Sindel is playable.

Which you're basing on what exactly? It's not like she's never been playable before.

I agree about Sindel not being playable. Just the fact we know from the comics not every revenant gets saved, plus the fact she has no new costume at all and is in her MK9 attire at that. I think Kitana is either saved at a later point than Sub and Kung Lao or she's killed yet again.

I admit I'm going full fanboy here but I wouldn't sleep on Li Mei being just a cameo. She features prominently in the trailer with close ups and as much dialogue as established heavy hitters like Sub Zero. Based on her dialogue there is a logical playable chapter scenario that would fit the style of storytelling we saw in MK9 and Injustice.

Either way I wouldn't get too antsy regarding anything now. It's possible characters will exist as cameos but don't forget the possibility of DLC eventually. MAN I love this newest trailer haha.

Shinnok ( how could you forget Shinnok? That scene is obviously a flashback, and now he is free.

More could be confirmed in due time.

This trailer really just put the spotlight on Takeda, Mileena, Jacqui, Shinnok and Kung Jin. Its pretty obvious that those are the 5 that Ed was referring to.

Erran, Rain, Baraka, Johnny, and Sonya were all pretty much "blink and you missed me." If they're in, they'll get their reveals in due time.

This seems like the most reasonable speculation. Even if Rain, Erron, Johnny, and Sonya are in, this trailer wouldn't count as much as a reveal for them as it would a teaser. I don't think Boon exactly implied that 5 character from the trailer are in and everyone else shown is out.

These 4, IMO, are guaranteed. Things don't look good for Shinnok after Raiden sucked into that amulet.

So I REALLY, REALLY, REALLY hope the 5th is Erron Black.

That's my thinking. Jin, Mileena, Sonya and maybe Jax and Liu were teased in that factions/tower video. I think that's all they were doing with the ones we briefly saw. Time will obviously tell who will make it.

As the playable(reveals) from the trailer. I could see Shinnok added later as DLC. Other then those 5 and Shinnok. Anyone else we see will likely just be cameos.

What the guy said about spotlights for Mileena, Shinnok and the other 3 is spot on! All the others make quick appearances and not featured at all or not as much.
