Just because fans look unique doesn't mean the things she can do with them are. All she can do for Fatalities is cut shit off the body. She already has one fatality where she does that, why would you ever want two of the same thing? That's the EXACT problem Scorpion has in this game, his two finishers look nearly the fucking same!

At first I was quite sceptical about Kitana's new appearance, because I wanted for her to look more like an assassin like Mileena and Jade, and less princess-like... However, her appearance have grown on me and I actually think she looks pretty cool.

I love how she utilizes her fans so much in her gameplay, though I'd like to see some more unique fatality ideas than just some cutting and ripping. Her Kiss of Death fatality would be quite cool to see again, and with these new graphics.

Yeah I'm really hoping she has her kiss of death fatality, I mean it's a signature of hers. I think she utilizes the fans to their full potential, in all her gameplay videos she constantly uses them as offense and then we've seen one of her fatalities so I don't think "not taking advantage of her unique weapon" applies to MK9.

Definitely want to see a new take on the kiss of doom fatality. I thought a fatality where she stabs the opponent with the fan, it its closed state, then she opens it while its stabbed in there. That would have been cool. Another little detail I would like to see is Jade's gameplay and fight style should be kinda similar to Kitana's and a lot of their attacks and moves should like coordinate and compliment each other. Kitana and Jade need to be epic in tag team mode.

Story wise, I would like to see what Kitana was like when she was loyal to Shao Khan. How did that go? We have very little canon information about that, it is mostly fan interpretation and speculation. I would like a canon representation of Kitana's life pre finding out about Edenia and her origins. IMO I would like to see Kitana as the princess of Outworld, not like Khan's heir or anything, but she should be a deadly assassin, as well as princess. Khan raised her as his own and treated her as his princess. I would also like to see a canon representation of Kitana's relationship with Mileena. Why does Mileena hate Kitana so much? Was there events that caused it or was it in fact that Mileena was just jealous of Kitana? I would like Kitana and Jade to remain best friends and always remain loyal to each other. As for Sindel, Im really curious to see where they are going with her story, she had a really important part in MK3's story, I cant wait to see what they do with her. I kinda want Kitana and Sindel to be allies, but Im not sure if Sindel will remain evil or what will happen with that.

I'd like to see that part of their story too. I doubt NRS will have time to go that far back into the story and give amazing detail, but it'd be cool to see the early assassin Kitana/Mileena/Jade before any problems. i also wouldn't mind seeing Jade and Mileena's relationship. They didn't seem close in MKSM, but I wonder why if they've been fighting together for probably thousands of years.

This is my theory based on the little canon information we do have concerning this story. Kitana was adopted by Khan when she was a baby, raised as his own daughter, this is canon. We do not know how or why Jade was also taken by Khan, but we do know she was also one of his assassins and Kitana's childhood friend. Since that is canon, We can assume Kitana and Jade grew up together, trained together, and were assassins together for Khan. In the recently released Mileena vignette, it shows that Mileena was born as a teen or young adult age, so we can assume Mileena must have been introduced to Kitana as her long lost sister or something who knows. To make it more concise, Kitana and Jade were serving Shao Khan long before Mileena was even around.

I would also like to see a more neutral Kitana, no more good guy Kitana. She needs to be more of a bad bitch.

I HATE KITANA mileena is far more better and deservies a feud with sindel over the throne of edenia not her bitchy ass "sister"kitana I know mileena's not sindel's daughter so don't rub it in but I think if sindel and melinna feuded it would make some sparks

Sounds interesting, but why would Sindel and Mileena feud? Kitana and Sindel rule Edenia together, so Mileena would have to take both of them on, not just Sindel. But even with Kitana out the picture, Sindel would still be in it, and I doubt she'd want a daughter replacement made by her enemy.

I hope we get to see Edenia in story mode.

Yeah I really hope they flesh out the relationships between Kitana, Sindel, Mileena, and Jade. I hope they include lengthy bios as well that get more in depth.

They've never really touched upon Mileena and Jade's relationship which is weird considering how long they've been fighting alongside eachother. I can only assume Mileena despises Jade as well since she's an ally of Kitana.

True but if Sindel and Mileena don't know each other {which I holly dought}it would of had been interesting to see Mileena finally take her place on the throne of edenia only to realise that her FAKE MOTHER Sindel the real ruler of edenia finds her daughters true killer her FAKE DAUGHTER Mileena
and knows that she trying to take over edenia for her Father Shao Kahn and they battle for control over edenia still I know they have Jade but she's not to be concerend with at the moment Im just saying it would be a interesting feud that all

Nice pic, I like your style. I just drew a Kitana pic myself. Weirdly, she's maskless in mine too. As soon as it gets approved, it'll be up in the Fan Submission section.

There's one thing that's bothered me a bit about Kitana's mask... At the bridge of her nose, the mask looks pointy and triangular instead of resting on her nose like in previous games. It's a tiny detail, but it kinda bothers me.

I feel there is a problem with Kitana and her fans. Basically, people thought she never used them enough in MKvsDC, but now NRS have made her use them more, some of my mates and so people on other MK websites think that she now uses them too much its like shes glued to them.

I however do not think she uses them too much. I mean, if I was in a beef, I would never let go of my weapon. I mean doesn't Mileena use her sais more now? So I don't see the reason behind this Kitana and her fans fuss :)

Yeah, I noticed that too. She has a sharp, pointy motif going on throughout her entire outfit. I don't know, I kinda like it. After drawing her and adding all the detail she has on her outfit, I have such a high respect for it now lol, I really can't complain about anything...

I like that she uses them more, it's one of the things that identifies her. And it also gives her better range. I wonder how much damage the fan moves make. Hopefully not too much, I like to earn my victories lol

She does indeed have an on-going theme going on for her.

Thanks! I would love to draw Jade soon, she's amazingly beautiful in this game. I think I'm in the minority when I say I like her primary for this game better than her classic. I'm waiting for a high-res render of her primary to come out so I can reference it. But yes, she and Sonya would be next. BTW, I hate my old Kitana work lol. I think I've grown more since my first Kitana drawing, and I keep it up so I can see my progress... but bleh hahaha, I hate it.

Yay, I'm not alone then. ^^ Though I love her classic outfit and her other past outfits, I think her current outfit is the best of them all.
