People can whine about this all they want but with Hydro being in MKL which recently came out, you should have seen this coming. I saw it as an option for them to take but I wasn't 100% sure.

Either way the Retro Cyber Subzero costume looks awesome. It will certainly make me want to learn how to play him more.


Also, does anyone else think Unmasked Subzero looks awkward when using the sword?

People still actually watched that garbage? I stopped at the Mileena and Kitana episode.

And don't get me started on the episode run time. it was the main reason why I stopped. Eight episodes were done and they have the nerve to release one short as hell episode per week. A WEEK!
Because combining two episodes was obviously fucking tedious for them.

While Unmasked Sub-Zero in this game looks a little awkward, I never really liked the whole 'blue suspenders' look in the original MK3 and MKDA.

Now I am a huge supporter of other characters getting alts besides just the ninjas, but at least Cyber-Zero has an alt now. Now if only he had could get a voice over for his ending.

Finally we get unmasked Sub-Zero with the eye scar (possibly the manliest type of scar any man could ever get). I don't really care that his costume looks more like the UMK3 Ninjas, but I guess I can see why others are upset. No complaints about this one on my end.

Cyber Sub-Zero classic costume.........I kinda get why, but I would've prefered anything else.

I'll get it, but only for unmasked Sub-Zero and because I already got that pass thing (no point in wasting it)

Meh, if I had the game, I'd still get it.

That Hydro stuff is weak. Easter Egg it may be (or not), but there could have been a great alternate for ANYONE other than Cyber Sub. For one, it doesn't make sense. (Yeah it IS a videogame, but damn. Really?) I like Cyber Sub, don't get me wrong. But there was another character that deserved to shine alternate wise. I love this game to no end, but that was a tad bit lazy on NRS's part.

Ooof, anyone who can take a blue Lin Kuei assassin, turn him into a blue cyborg, and give him ice powers, and have the nerve to call him "EEE-dro" has to be kidding himself.
Anyway, I'm not going to call Sub-Zero's unmasked alternate anything other than his unmasked alternate; it looks like his MKT outfit about as much as I look like Matthew Broderick.
As for the Classic Cyber Sub-Zero costume... I have to laugh at the Robot Smoke fans who were calling for a robot costume for him. I love Smoke as much as the next guy, but he didn't become a cyborg this time, just let it go. He now has a story beyond being the tragic villain/Noob Saibot's bitch, and I'd rather he spend his life learning his origins instead of spending his life as a cyber (sex?) slave.
Considering this new game takes place during the MK1-MK3 timeline, it sort of makes sense that if Sub-Zero had been the one captured back then, he'd be a robo-palette swap of Cyrax and Sektor. Also, since he was the only non-DLC without an alternate costume, it's safe to say that it was about time he got one.

so cyber subzero is gonna be official in the next upcoming installments of MK? i thought they turned him into cyborg just for kicks and only for mk2011? damn ..

He was the only character that came WITH the game that didn't already have an alternate.

Don't understand why people say he doesn't deserve one especially because of that reason.

If that did happen you'd have a bunch of people scratching heir heads and wondering if he is gonna be a cyborg.

Also, CSZ > Smoke gameplay wise.

I'm pretty sure most people are smart enough to put it together...considering he was almost captured and turned into a cyborg in the story mode.

My guess was that they were gonna include UMK3 Scorpion since the leaked pics of MK3 Sub already showed him wearing the UMK3 ninja outfit.(I know it's not MK3, but I still like it)
I'm not really a fan of the klassic cyber-outfits, so Cyber-Sub doesn't really interest me.

Oh well... It's free anyway and at least people can't complain about Cyber-Sub not having an alt. anymore.

Mixed feelings.

The Pros:
1) Sub-Zero with the eye scar. Long overdue. Geez, what took them so long? Younger Sub-Zero without the eye scar is like Kung Lao without a hat, Mileena without teeth, or Sindel without hair.

2) Cyber Sub-Zero finally has an alt.

3) It's FREE. Seriously, you can't complain about free stuff (well, you can.... and I will!)

The Cons:
1) John Turk's face is defined in my mind as unmasked Sub-Zero. Even MK:DA resembled him. The render for Sub doesn't quite gel with that image.

2) I actually like the UMK3 ninja vest and shirt... but I can see how others would be upset that it's not REALLY his klassic kostume.

3) While it's good Cyber Sub got an alt... I would have picked anyone in the game over him for a new alt. Like Sonya's MK3 outfit, Mileena's MK2 outfit, Quan Chi's MK4 outfit, a Cyber Smoke skin, Scorpion's MK3 outfit, Kung Lao's MK2 outfit, Kano's MK1 outfit, Sheeva's MK:Armageddon outfit, Shang Tsung's MK2 outfit... you get the point. It's a huge wasted opportunity.

4) Is this, for really reals, the last DLC? If so, it's a bit of a whimper instead of a bang. Too much obvious potential for other costumes, and characters, exists.

5) I STILL WANNA KNOW HOW SUB-ZERO GETS HIS SCAR! (and no "Kung Lao did it" BS either!)

Considering he got a lot more than just a scar in this game, I don't think it'll ever be revealed. Maybe he got it battling Scorpion in MK2 when the moronic specter still thought he failed at killing Sub-Zero.

Now both Bi-Han and Kuai Liang have 4 costumes each one.

MK1 Classic, Sub-Zero Alternate, Noob and Classic Noob are Bi-Han (Noob Alternate is the same than Sub-Zero alternate, so I "don't count it" as a different costume).

MK3 Classic, Sub-Zero main, Cyber Sub-Zero and Classic Cyber Sub-Zero are Kuai Liang.

So that's 8 designs on 3 different spots. I was expecting something like Scorpion alternate and I don't think cyber subby should get the "classic" treatment, but whatever.

At least i can play with unmasked Subby.

And I don't care that they combined Classic Sub-Zero and regular Sub-Zero from UMK3 into one glorious version that is crappier than either one.

I cant grasp how people can say that csz doesnt deserve an alternate....... he is friggin the only non dlc character to have no alternate... personally i love the fact that he got a klassic... that he got an alternate at all makes quite happy no matter what it would be... some people here....>_>
