Anyway the point is, Kratos doesn't belong in the storyline in the actuall game, just put that wasted character in his own freaking game (I love that game, but not in MK)

Rain is a character from the MK series, you see it as joke and horrid excuse for a character, I see just as much pictures of Rain on deviantart as pictures of God of War.

Everybody knows about Rain who played MK3trilogy, so you talk weak shit because you hate the character.

But you hate everything, much like me, but you actually mean what you say.

I'm not a huge fan, but, I'll say this:

He should have made the cut.

It really sucks for the fans that he's been left out like this. We can probably expect the same for Motaro. Its a letdown, imo. I feel for the Rain fans.

It is more than likely that both will make it as DLC, but, it still doesn't mean that it sucks they were not included in the original roster as it should have been.

His MKA revamp was perfection. I like Rain.

That doesn't mean he's not telling the truth...because he is.

Ed has mentioned over and over again throughout this campagin that, characters they see people talking about the most, will mostl likely be the top DLC choices.

Rain got alot of attention when he resurfaced in MKA, despite that game giving alot of the core fanbase a headache.His design was appreciated, and the ways that they pandered to his character made him alot more interesting. His moves and storyline element got people excited about the character again after a really long hiatus.

Speaking of his hiatus, it was during this time that Kratos hit the gaming scene and some would argue, accommodated/appeased alot of people that were looking for MK to do what Mortal Kombat wasn't. What with all the violence, brutality, and a great story. Rain was nowhere to be found.

Kratos was a beautiful marraige with MK's...stuff. Rain was literally IN the MK games, but absentee. However, fans still like him and, since MKA, people have been very vocal about him.

Therefor, I wouldn't worry that Rain will be in. He will.... but as others have mentioned, he's a front-runner for DLC.

Everyone else is in the game already, or their not popular enough to sell DLC.
I don't see characters like Kintaro or Motaro having time spent on them based on these merits. I think if they get in, it'll be simply because they're bosses, and deserving of a spot on the default merit that they were around during those games, period.

I dont get where all this hate for Quan is comign from. I understand the "he doesnt deserve a spot over Rain" argument, but with the storyline behind him now, it would be rediculous not to include him (especially after being ripped off of him for DLC).

Sure he wasnt playable until MK4 and wasnt around until MK4, but that from our persepctive, as far as the MK universe is concerned, hes been an Albert Wesker, medling and pulling the strings behind the picture.

I too think it sucks that they leave Rain out of the main roster, BUT he will most likely become DLC. At least we'll then get a chance to play as him! Positive thinking, my friends. ^^

I agree with Jerrod's logic in this that although Quan Chi's involvement in the story makes sense for his inclusion, to leave Rain out because he had no story is a bit of a let down. I mean Ermac was just a rumour, who eventually became a real character who's story was minimal in MK Trilogy. The same can be said for Rain, he started off as being a rumoured fighter in the attract mode but was eventually made into a full character with a minimal story. As a Rain fan, to see them include one and not the other is a major let down.

I don't really care if his storyline was shit in his first game, they had the chance to change all of that this time around with the remake and make him develop a whole lot more. It's a very sad day for Rain fans and I hope if the developers do read this they'd be tempted to change their mind and include him last minute, because the last thing I'd want to see is him becoming redundant in the MK Roster.

You forgot about Tanya,Tanya got more points than Kenshi in the voting system, only Quan Chi got more votes than Tanya. (for past MK3 characters)

Anyway I don't like this because Rain will be absent from the storyline, and they could have done so much beautiful with him!

I'm sure they turn jade into this BORING good friend of Kitana from the beginning and with Tanya being absent there will be no edenian traitor...

THERE MUST BE A FUCKING TRAITOR! I kinda hope Jade starts out evil and becomes good later on, if she turns out to be nice and good from the start its a real letdown.

You know what the problem with good characters, story-possibilities and good-stories are very difficult to make, they only want to save the freaking world, BORING! Jade should be evil if Rain is absent, of course she becomes good later in the story, but she should be a lying Tanya bitch in the storyline from the beginning.

Look at it this way:

UMK3 came out, they teased Rain. He wasn't available.

Few months later, MKT comes out, and UMK3 for home systems. You got him after doling out a bit of money and waiting a bit.

Same thing happening now, really. You're just not paying for a whole new game.

Really, he's getting some serious recognition considering his mixed popularity. He didn't show up in a game until Armageddon, and now, I'm happy to see him almost certainly coming back in what is for him, really, the second straight 'real' MK game in the series (discounting MKDC) - even if it is as DLC.

Boon already said in his gamespot interview that they will release "the rains" for dlc.

I don't get the Rain glorification.
Is allright, but buy the time he was created (UMK3) the pallet swap thing was getting old and lame.
For me Rain is just a filler...

I understand why people are mad he's not in the original roster, but he'll be downladable soone enough.

Quan-Chi fits the roster as he was greatly involved in that timeline (though added afterwards).

As I said, i understand the sadness... as I would have been really mad if they had decided to leave Sindel out of the game... or Nightwolf (which I find not crappy at all by the way).

If they took out Smoke, one of your favorite characters you would probably scream the stars out of the sky, and what does he do for the story? Not much like Jade already does.

Anyway we miss an Edenian Male and a Traitor character with his abscence, and because Rain was kinda mysterious in MK3 they could come up with something really special and new for him without crushing the actuall storyline of him, same goes for Sheeva and Jade.

If he's in DLC, that doesn't bother me, I can choose the option to NOT buy him and make him apart of the roster for me. My brother, on the other hand, might... But at least I'm one of those people who can take a chill pill about certain characters making it or breaking it when it comes to being selected for the main roster. Unlike some people here, I don't have a problem who makes it in and who doesn't. I already got my favorite characters in the game so there's no need for me to worry about any more "who's going to be revealed this time."

That you picked Mr Wolverine-in-Mortal Kombat (sub-zero) to be your favorite that is pretty easy, he's always in the game, but other people with somewhat more love for mysterious characters and underdogs and with a taste with more creative characters don't have that luck.

Milaana, Jade won't take over Rain's and Tanya's roles as a treachorous Edenian. This just shows you know nothing about the characters you're talking about. Try and be realistic and get to know your lore before making such statements.

That said, I do want Rain to be in the game, but his chances of becoming part of the main roster aren't very high. However, he still has a chance to become a DLC which is better than nothing.

Uh... Sheeva is a favorite of mine. I DO respect people by not insulting the character every five minutes in a thread like you did with a certain character and bashed the fans. I don't bash fans for liking a character. And since I am entitled to MY opinion, I stated that I feel like there's no loss here. Am I directed that to the fans? No, because this is my personal opinion since we have the right to state what we choose to feel.

Not to mention, I JUST stated that I will not have a problem whether or not he's in the game. He's a character that I don't like, but I don't go talking ape shit per thread this character has been discussed, tell everyone that he's a retarded character and his fans are stupid enough to like him... No, that is not me. I don't go around saying that Rain fans kills people because they... I don't know, takes someone by the head and shoves it underwater until the person changes their minds about liking characters.

Sub-Zero is not the only character I intend to choose to play, you got Stryker, Mileena, Sindel and Ermac... Just because Sub-Zero is my all-time favorite does not mean that I am completely satisfied with the game already. Just because you have an issue with ninja characters, despite the only real ninja in the game is Scorpion, that's your problem. But don't sit and insult who I have to play all because I don't like your character, which is Rain.

As stated, I don't mind whether or not he's in the game. Unlike other people who seem to don't understand the word "options" we have the option to play as that character or don't. If he makes it in the roster, and not as a DLC, I may or may not choose to play him. It's that simple. Other people tend to think that just because a character is in the game, i.e. Kratos, it's completely ridiculous and that they sound like they're forced to play as that character. No, they are not forced.

So, last time, whether or not Rain is in the game, that's fine. But if he's not on the final roster, to me I don't see that as a loss. It's not like he's scrapped from the series forever.

Jade can become a traitor in mk2 but she picks the good side, but she still stands for a dilemma, mad father of Kitana, or her best friend, they could do something interesting with this storyline from the beginning, making Jade a stupid Kitana slave that follows her best friend through everyhthing, that is possible in her MK3 storyline when she picks the good side, but that doesnt mean she should start off as this stupid friend of kitana that doesn't have any mind and ideas of her own, they can actually play out her MK2 storyline pretty cool with new storyline we never knew from her as she was such a mysterious character in MK2.

But if you want your favorite character to become the boring Kitana-wannabe she was in MK:Deception from the beginning... Having NO interesting role at ALL in the storymode, than you're my guest, but I think otherwise.

She could really make Kitana's life a misserable one, luring her into traps with Reptile, but after she caught Kitana, Kitana talks Jade out of this madness and they beat Reptile (and maybe Mileena) togheter.

Well it would be better for everyone if Rain was replaced with a new purple ninja that'll change everyone's minds including Tremor in the game as its Earth manipulating ninja warrior as well.

Purple means darkness, purple means lilacs, purple means poison. Or violet, since its part of the color.

Ermac, Mileena, Baraka, Kabal, Sindel, Jade, Reptile, Shang Tsung, Sektor, and since the release of this game also Kano and Noob Saibot are all my favorites which come BEFORE Rain.

I'm going to help Jaded out on this one because Jade is another favorite character and seeing how you're completely missing all the key things Jade has within her story, makes you know nothing about Jade whatsoever.

Kitana is a princess, Jade is a gardian. Kitana makes peace throughout the realms, Jade fights for her realm's safety. Neither character are EXACTLY alike. Just because they have similar appearance from one another doesn't mean Jade is going to act like Kitana. She is a guardian, someone who protects the princess and the queen from any kind of danger. To me, that doesn't seem like Jade wants to become or act like Kitana, last time I checked, that was the person you have on your avatar, which is Mileena.

Jade had one of the most interesting stories in Deception, helping Sindel free her daughter from Onaga's grasp since Kitana got killed by him and resurrected by him to work as his slave. Jade was helping Sindel get Kitana back as well as fighting of Tanya who was after here with the Tarkatan armies.

You know nothing about this character, and I suggest if you want to continue arguing with Jaded, you're only going to get proven wrong more and to show that you know nothing about the character because unlike you, Jaded knows what he's talking about when it comes to Jade. I suggest you just end it with this post because your reasons for how Jade apparently acts like Kitana is bogus.

And you're telling me to respect fans of certain characters...
