I will admit that since I just got home from work, I am far too lazy to read all 5 pages of this thread. Forgive me if someone has said exactly what I'm about to say.

I know a lot of people are concerned about Shang's new look...me included. If you look at that screenshot though, that is definitely not a finished product. If you look at any of the other recently released screen-shots you will see what I mean. There is so much detail in all of the characters, but this Shang looks very bland. It looks like a filler model to me. I hope it is, because if not, Shang will definitely by the most disappointing character for me. I had really high hopes for his awesomeness.

Other than that though, I thought this was an awesome video. That new stage looks absolutely AMAZING! Kano looks awesome too. Things seem to be shaping up nicely in this game.

It looks like that because if you watch every single bio vignette, you'll notice that when they get to the fatality part, they edit the footage through some photoshop filters that take away all the textures and make it look painted, to look more like the storyline parts.

The robes fit his character. But they looked like crap. I have no objection to putting Shang Tsung in robes like that, but I expect them to not look like crap.

Easy enough to follow?

I'll just settle on "you can't recognize a good design if it bit you in the ass" and call it a day.

And you can't say "I have no objections" in one sentence and then add "they look hideous" in the next one. It doesn't work that way.

Nice vignette. Lots of reveals.

Kano looks like Kano. Neither exciting or dull. Good to see him though.

Liu's bicycle kick looked weird. Very floaty. His fatality seems good but is a bit too much like Kano's heart rip in look. I'm happy to hear his turkey gobbles are back.

Shang Tsung couldn't be any more dissapointing for me. I was hoping for his MK3/MKvsDC or MKDA looks. At the moment it looks like a horrible blend of all 3. He needs the badass face paint and white eyes. It made him look much more sinister.



Only your opinion. Not fact. MK3 had some great designs that were actual risks unlike the some of the other games.



I thought Baraka looked cool with the black eyes and Nightwolf looked much more intimidating with the pupil-less eyes.

Oh, I know a good design when I see one. I just have higher standards.

I'm really not fond of Liu Kang in this version of MK. I wish he was more like Ho Sung Pak in Mortal Kombat II or had more of a Bruce Lee look and style. This is my opinion though.

-As far as designs for Liu Kang go, this is his best one. That being said, I don't really care for him. He's too bland. I really, really, reeaaaally hope the story doesn't center on him again.

-Kano's outfit looks great, but i agree with some previous posters that his face and hairstyle look dumb. Wish his tattoo was a little more noticeable too.

-Poor, poor Reptile. His costume is my least favorite ever and I agree that his mask looks like a beak. Bring on MK 4 Reptile, thats by far my favorite.

-Shang's face could look more sinister. From his look I really don't get the impression that he's an evil sorcerer. Bring back the white pupils at least.

I wouldn't call the graphics awful. Most of the gameplay footage consists of unreleased characters and arenas. Chances are they're all incomplete WIPs so one can understand why the textures aren't as crisp as some of the more complete characters and arenas.

I think the reason the graphics looks bad is because the vignette is shown in X-box 360 standards, not the PS3 HD quality.

The sad part is that the ^^^ is coming from a huge mk fan.

I'm saying that HD quality is looking better. And this vignette is shown on X-box quality which is not HD. That's all.

360 has hi def I had both 360 PS3 before but I sold my ps3. 360 has hd cords that goes into tvs. But if your trying to start a console war gtfo none one wants to here crying and whining.
