I love the Kano mk3 look

Like you, I won't jump to conclusions before I see the whole thing, but the Fatality seems like crap. Is this really the only thing they can come up with for one of their most iconic characters? I'm glad that they have been hinting at the Dragon Morph returning, but punching a hole in a guys chest would be a waste, especially for Liu Kang.

When thinking about it though, Liu Kang has never really had great Fatalities...

Don't get me wrong here. I have no objection to MKDA Shang Tsung's robes. They're extremely fitting of his character.

I object to how he looked in them. They were hideous and his face....god his face. I know, it was MKDA and all the faces looked like shit, but Jesus, that face.

I forgot to say that I'm very happy to see a Bo Rai Cho cameo!!

It adds to the rich storyline of MK.

And yeah, the more I look at him the more I can't believe that Shang Tsung looks soooo plain and well, disappointing.

He's one of my top favorite characters.

The more they reveal the less I am convinced they actually tried something new.

Kano is a given slight change over his MK vs DC version, Shang Tsung is massacred. The only redeeming quality I find there are the snakehead gauntlets. Also he looks like getting a blowjob in that picture...

MKDA Shang Tsung. Primary or alt. At least they didn't pull the MK3 hideous Rob Zombie look, that is intolerably laughable. A fucking look at folklore and folkwear would be nice again like in the aforementioned game NRS.

True enough. Looking at the vignette, you can see that he can ignite his hands (for the fireballs, etc..). If I had to create a fatality for Liu, it would certainly involve that fire.

Maybe have Liu Kang do kung-fu... y moves with his hand, and then places his hand with the palm against his opponent's chest. His hand starts to glow, and then the opponent explodes... or something like that.

I am very impressed by Kano's look this time around. Very MK3 like. Really cool!

As far as Shang Tsung: mehhh. I think his character model is the first one I've really disliked in this game. Looks really 'cheesy' and doesn't look evil in the least... It really matches his voice from MKvsDC ^_^

At least we know we're getting alt costumes, though!

The rooftop looks fuckin amazing! Definitely another favourite. I hope that the day version has the huge red portal in the sky. They have outdone themselves with the stages, this time.

Liu Kang is just awesome. I love what they have done with him, appearance-wise and gameplay-wise (from what I can see so far). I also love his fatality; simple, effective and awesome. I was hoping his hand would be on fire before punching and it seems that is the case. All I would like to see are some combo's (gameplay video) and his dragon fatality.

Kano looks good. I wanted him to have a look similar to this (MK3 style). His face kind of reminds me of Trevor Goddard's face in the MK movie. Nothing further to add.

Shang looks nearly perfect when it comes to his face. All that is missing is the facepaint. I need to see his costume some more for a final judgement. Doesn't look like much, yet. And I am wondering about his huge pendant. Also, I hope that the video hinted towards his morph being back.

Overall, awesome vignette.

Thanks NRS. They finally did something to improve the fatality screen. I still wish it created a more "deadening" affect on the things in the actual arena allowing us to still kinda see the background during the fatality but, this is better than nothing I guess.

Liu Kang is great all the way up til that pretty bland fatality. I get the idea though and yea, it's too close in concept to Kano's heart rip fatality. Looks good... but meh.

I appreciate how MK: Shaolin Monks they made him. He's gonna be fun to play with because of this... i don't have any doubt. See how he walks? lol

Only thing about Liu that I don't like is how pleasant he looks. If they can make him frown and stuff like that when he throws a fireball, or does one of his kicking moves I'll digress. That's the only thing missing from Liu.

Vignette was good through and through because it's what I expected. It gets more +'s because of the method of delivery. The music really got me going too. Great job all around. I love it.

I hate Shang Tsungs new look though. MKvsDC was better, and MKDA-A was a hell of alot better too in iMo.

I like the older Shang Tsung alot better so, I'm also pretty disappointed that i don't see the Fu Man Chu Shang too... *crosses fingers for a great alt* ah well.

Arena is stunning but i was a little confused as to where that was or what arena that was inspired from at first. I don't have a good opinion on it yet but I like individual things I see about it. The dragon, the portal, how ruined it is..etc

Actually, Shang Tsung does not need the face paint. The only game he had the facepaint was MK3/UMK3/MKT which has some of the worst character designs in the history of the series.

What he does need is the pupil-less eyes. Back before they started giving everyone and their dog pupil-less eyes, it was Raiden and Shang Tsung. Even Scorpion didn't have pupil-less eyes in the beginning.

It is something small but that bothers me every new game Shang is in as well. Probably why I like the picture i post of Shang more than the other designs too. Big part of why I like that whole design is because he doesn't have pupils.

I like how the torch goes out right before Liu does his fatality.

Wow, I love the look of liu kang! It was really grand to see him do his fire ball, and other moves.

Also i like how kano looks, he looks like the kano that i grown to like, and not arkward like in mk1. However i would like to see the mk1 costume.

Shang tsung looks excellent, I don't get what people are complaining about. Sure they are similar to the mkvsdcu look, but to me that was the best they ever made him look! Also he was only shown in his defeat, which we can't tell his additude or anything from just that!

Anyone else notice about the stage, there's a giant snake or dragon moving around back there just to the right of the portal?

I do find it a bit strange that for MK1-3 he had no pupils and also MK:SM, but he had pupils in MKDA-MKvsDC. But then we see him sitting on his throne on the Shang Tsung throne room arena with no pupils, but then in Liu Kangs vignette he had pupils?????

shang tsung... morph... necklace... pacmen on his belt... I LOVE IT!

I like the MKvsDC look... I'd actually be pretty pleased if he had ended up with a MKvsDC look and a MKD look as his primary and alt costumes.

Thing about this look here is I think it looks like a mock-up or an early prototype of something they might finally settle on later. It looks incomplete. As a conqurer of souls I actually expect Shang Tsung to be one of the characters with great detail about his look.

In this look, there also is no regal color scheme, there's no flamboyant flailing portions of his costume (like a passed over Liu Kang might look)... it doesn't look expensive or antique or grand at all ...there's just nothing that reminds me of Shang Tsung about it.

Yeah and there's a helicopter haulin ass to get away from him too while Liu Kang uppercuts Kano

This vignette looked like MKvsDC2.0. I liked it, but this is a little concerning. Baraka's head looked recycled and now so does Kano and Shang Tsung slightly. Reserving overall judgement.

I actually really like Shang Tsung! He's kinda sexy...never thought I'd say that about a videogame character lol. I don't get where people are saying he looks exactly like his old MKvsDC face though. In this game his nose is a lot wider and he looks Asian. The other game didn't have that in his facial features.

I like the concept of Shang Tsung being someone who is physically attractive and youthful, and I LOVE the snakes interwoven in his clothing. I always imagined Shang Tsung to be someone who gets things done through charm, charisma and deviousness as opposed to outright blatant taking what he wants. He's a snake. Snakes strike when it's least expected and Shang Tsung is SO that in regards to his look. Liu Kang's fatality also makes sense. He's a Shaolin warrior who bows before he's about to kill you...I can't see him doing something extremely extravagant as a means to kill someone. It's quick and to the point. They die right there quick as hell. No extra suffering necessary...I mean, there's suffering but not like seducing someone, ripping their head off and desecrating their remains by chewing their face. On a tangent...I fucking love the music in this game. Mileena's I have on my Ipod and I'll generally walk to it when I wanna feel mysterious and dark. LOL.I wanna put in Liu Kang's though and just go BUCKWILD....SHIT IS HOOOT!!! The gongs and the drums are the best part in my opinion.
