Yes its time to see the fanboys go nuts!!!!! I think its cool to put him in the game he is not in story mode. I loved seeing Spawn in soul calibur and darth vader in soul calibur. Mortal Kombat fans are the only fans that cry when something happens to MK. OH NO MK Vs DC its the end of the world. Did street fighter fans cry when marvel vs capcom came out? Marvel vs capcom 2 is the biggest tornament fighter all over the world.

I guess it just bugs me that Kratos is in the game because I wanted to have that same classic MK atmosphere we've been waiting for and even though they are going in that direction, Kratos being there would just nullify that experience, but I hope I'm wrong or this gets resolved.

Stupid Date Thing keeps messing with my head everytime I buy a magazine. I swear I've walked by issues of OPM where they date it a month ahead.

As long as they don't try and add a guest character for the 360, this really doesn't pertain to me. But, I have a feeling they're gonna have to be fair to each console, I could see them try and add the guy from Gears Of War or something...
Ughhhhhh
I'd rather have Mokap in my reloaded MK game than a guest character that I didn't have sympathy to...
This better be a joke made by this guys of the twitter account to promocionate his own game causing intrigue among the fans...
And I really doubt that after the great leak tuesday, they are allowed to talk about a new leak.... Ed Boon would probably kill him using a combination of every fatality on the MK universe.

I have never been fond of console-exclusive content, and it's a trend that started a long time ago with MK3 and I wish never continued. With that being said, the idea of there being console-exclusive content in an MK game is nothing new; it's been happening since 1995:
-MK3 on the PS has the Hidden Portal and Graveyard stages, absent from SNES and Genesis.
-SNES and Genesis versions of UMK3 differ greatly from the Saturn and PS, omitting Sheeva and Animalities, but bring in Noob Saibot and Rain and Brutalities.
-MKT on the 64 was an utter joke compared to the PS version, which had all the sub-bosses, both Sub-Zeros, two variations of Kano, Raiden, Jax, and Kung Lao, the actual picture endings instead of cheap versus poses with text. The only things that the N64 version had that was okay and different was the different Khameleon, Reverse Babalities, boss Fatalities, and more rewards to choose at the end of the game.
-MK4 home versions all had Goro as a sub-boss, and the DC got 6 exclusive characters with MK Gold.
-MKDA's second portable version (MKTE) included Sareena, Noob Saibot, and Sektor.
-MKD on the GC had Goro and Shao Kahn, while MK Unchained on the PSP had them, plus Frost, Kitana, Jax, and Blaze.
-MK Armageddon on the Wii gave us Khameleon.
I think Kratos is an interesting character; I hate how GoW warped the Greek stories I enjoyed reading and learning as I grew up, but he is still fun to play as in his games. However, I'm not too thrilled with seeing him this game. Give an exclusive MK character for each version or something like before, but don't give us some character who won't be relevant or cared about in the story anyway; Taven and Daegon were enough.
In any case, I do hope that his inclusion gets the results that NRS/WB/whoever came up with the idea is seeking, because if it doesn't, then he was just a waste of a bonus. I am curious about how he'll play though, and I do hope that he is at least balanced and plays well.

I'm just going to view Kratos like I view Gon in Tekken 3... pretend he doesn't exist. Inversely, I know Boon and co. adore Gears of War.... Marcus Fenix for 360, perhaps? Either way, I'll never play as any bonus character. I play MK for MK alone.

Look you guys aren't thinking about the big picture. If he is in the game then it's simple this is a move to make money. This game might be a go for broke approach for them. You all say they sold out or the tournament players are going to be upset well u know what I'm tourney player this does nothing to the game other then just deciding which version of the game gets used more at the events.Half of u guys don't even travel to these events so don't comment on things you think you know about.Mortal Kombat has always been the game at these events that only has like 20 players for a tournament and a game like Blaze Blue which just came out has like 100.If this idea works for the better and brings more people to it so be it.

i dont expect the 360 to get a character honestly given that the PS3 version already had exclusive content.
Oh god... words cannot begin to express how much I loathe guest characters. I understand why they do it, but I really dislike having non-MK characters in the game. That's also one of the reasons why I refused to buy or even play MK vs DC.
I'm really hoping that the Xbox doesn't get a guest character. I don't care if that means that the PS3 has 1 more character than the Xbox, they need to stop with this nonsense. I didn't like it when they had a Spartan in DOA4, and I didn't like it when they had Star Wars in SoulCalibur 4 either.
If you want Kratos, then go play God of War!

I don't get all this hate against Kratos being in the game? He's a popular character among PS3 owners and he fits in the twisted atmosphere of Mortal Kombat, and plus he's just a guest character that won't affect the storyline or anything...
Sure it's not appealing to the fans, but Netherealm should add what they want to into the game as well, not live up to every demand from the fans...

This is a sad day for Mortal Kombat...
The reason (S)SFIV is probably the biggest tournament player and best fighting game out there is because they stuck to their original old school roots and made the game and its content accessable to everyone.
If Mortal Kombat is making console exclusive deals, this screws up a lot in the first place. There won't be an arcade version since no one in Japan gives a shit about Mortal Kombat, so this in its turn messes with the tournament worthy position MK wants to achieve. You can't really ban Kratos from the tournament scene either because by the time MK reaches EVO you have GoW fans playing MK who are maining Kratos and won't accept a ban on the character. Then you have the 360 players who don't have access to Kratos in the first place and are obviously not going to buy a PS3 just to play as Kratos.
Then there is the fact that Kratos SHOULD NOT BE IN A FUC*ING MORTAL KOMBAT GAME! You say that you want to go back to the roots of what made MK so great in the first place and you prove this by adding Kratos to the game? Sure, sales is the primary goal of a commercial business. I know that, I am studying International Business Management. However, this is the perspective of NRS/Warner Bros. As a fan, your perspective is for them to give you something YOU want this game to be since YOU are the one paying for it. It is understandable that they take certain actions for profit making reasons, but that doesn't mean you should accept it or be OK with it. After all, WE are the main target market. Not the GoW market.
I still hope that this turns out to be false information.

It's completely unfair to compare Snes/Genesis releases of UMK3 with Playstation... They did a damn good job cramming as much in as possible with the limited hardware.
(Actually, UMK3 was never released on PS, they went straight from MK3 to Trilogy)

Yeah um.. as if MK is any better. Raiden and Fujin are a fair bit different than the Shinto gods they're based on... Raijin is a little red goblin who beats a drum to create thunder.

MK's mythology is derived from Eastern and Western theologies. It was never intended to be an adaptation of Shinto.

I truly hope the someone at NRS is reading this. This is coming from a die-hard MK fan who grew up playing this game and buying every game that's come out.
I feel betrayed as a MK fan.
This game is the ULTIMATE game for us fans. We've been waiting for this for a long time and the team looks like they're making something really special for us.
The 14 minute long MKasts have gotten me so excited. Showing old combos redone. It's bringing out so much nostalgia and just slamming it in our faces with a whole refreshed next generation look. Everything just looks so good.
Today, my brother and I sat in giddy excitement as we listened to the remixes of older themes from the arenas. We both screamed when we heard The Courtyard. It was an awesome and nerdy moment and I was never so excited that unfortunately for the mk team, information leaked.
---
Now all the sudden KRATOS is confirmed as a character?!?!
I am nearly speechless as to how unconventional this seems in the sense of the way this game is coming about and what it's all about.
This is THE Mortal Kombat game. This the ULTIMATE Mortal Kombat game we've been waiting for...for years.
It is ESSENTIAL to keep this game 100% Mortal Kombat. I cannot stress this enough. The MK team needs to understand this and think about the fans perspectives here. Sure, Kratos is a badass dude and a great mascot for Sony gaming. The God of War games are phenomenal. But the fact that you could even THINK about putting ANY non MK character into THIS GAME is scary!
This is a huge step backwards for this game imo if this all pans out. This is not the confidence in the team I was seeing all along. This is embarrassing and I feel ridiculous telling my friends "Oh yeah and by the way, Kratos is in it". Although some of them will be like OH THAT'S SICK, BRO...You need to think about the REAL Mortal Kombat fans.
I don't even know what else to say. It just feels so unnatural. To me it's a given to just keep this a truly MK game. I just cannot believe they would do this and I just can't see how they could be happy about doing this.
I really hope you guys read this and take into consideration of just how important this game is for me and a lot of MK fans. I won't hide behind my love for Mortal Kombat. It's here and it's always been here and always will be. It's scary sometimes but I've 100% embraced it.
Please don't just assume I'm overreacting. This is huge. Leave Kratos out of this game. Please.
