Evo contacted NRS. They're crazy interested in MK2011. Justin Wong, arguably the best SSF4 player in the States has high hopes for the new MK. This is the franchise's big chance to make itself a lasting staple in competitive gaming.

I don't recall UMK3 ever being at EVO.

Meh, that's cool with me. Kratos is a cool dude, and as long as his inclusion is treated by NRS as a bonus addition and not part of the main content, that's fine (in other words, the game better come as complete roster-wise as if it Kratos were never in it).

EVO isn't the only high end tournament. There's tons. Ever heard of Seasons Beatings, North Cal Regionals, Socal Regionals, Super Battle Opera?

They all have had UMK3, and they're all just as big as EVO.

I think it's very strongly related to Kratos. He can strongly effect the tournament scene, which is one of the biggest goals for this game to make it to.

I am not bashing Kratos I own a PS3..if i wanted to play as him i could do so and honestly i can tolerate this shit...but I'm urging people to think what this means for this game's goals(as mentioned by Ed Boon) to make it to Evo and such tournaments..

You're not even comprehending the point of my statements. The only thing you can offer to a discussion of what Kratos will bring to Mortal Kombat is money. What can Kratos offer other than cash, some new fans? I guarantee Kratos can not hold a candle to the amount of publicity Mortal Kombat will receive if it is properly represented at high end tournaments.

Kratos goes against the very foundation of this game, which is to revive the old, vintage Mortal Kombat we've grown to love and miss. The game was titled "Mortal Kombat", and that's a huge statement within itself.

There are many negatives to Kratos being in this game, and being exclusive, whether you acknowledge them or not.

But in my sincerest of words, you seriously need to stop speaking about things you don't know about. It makes you look bad, it makes the community look bad.

Get off your high horse. Every post I've made you've tried to nitpick or criticize. You're stuck up and pretentious. It really pisses me off that some people have the nerve to call me a troll when everything you've said to me since I got here is overflowing with disdain.

I think the problem is that we both want different things..Luca and I are interested in tournament level play and exposure for this game and obviously you are not..you play..against the cpu or w.e....the point is youre quick to dismiss our points of view simply because you "don't care" about the scene and it makes you looks somewhat ignorant..that being said I agree that this slight insult should not affect wether you buy this game or not..and the gameplay should still be solid..honestly we just expect different things out of this game and i'm sorry if some of these posts sound hostile or that I called you a troll..

So this Kratos guy.... What kind of specials will this Spartan have?
