Yea the super roundhouse is a bit silly but this is a game where u freeze in the air, its there entirley for gameplay purposes opposed to lazyness imo. Im fine with it. Also i belive his teleport has diffrent properties then noobs (ill have to look again but it looks like u may be able to combo after it, and the ex is likely diffrent). This is much when people were bitching about skarlets blood ball being reptiles force ball (which it isnt)

Main that win pose is badass, I didnt think they could outdo scorpions but that dope.

Also im glad there stickin with just water and a tad of lightining imo wind lightning and water was a bit much.

Bad ass x ray... Ill prolly be on xbox live by the time he comes out and ill be yelling "ROADHOUSE!"

i think its the same physics problem as Kitana's hair going all crazy in her intro not necessarily him talking.

So, I haven't read anyones comments yet, but, Rain definitely gets a special award from me.

The first few seconds of the video were pretty "meh" for me, I was actually noti impressed...but then, wow, that glorious bubble power!!!!!!

His special water and bubble powers and Fatality got out of me a VERY strong reaction. I was sincerely at awe at what I was seeing.

The huge bubble/water Fatality actually made me cover my mouth with complete, sincere, and total excitement and surprise!!!

Rain actually made me jump from my chair and cover my mouth with my hands.
Pure. Awesomeness!



That Fatality, that MKT winning pose with Rain, those bubble attacks, that lighting, that intro.....OMG.

I've got to go watch it again.

So far, I only have 3 complaints/disappointments:

1) A few of his gameplay/moves reminded me a lot of Noob Saibot and Reptile. Like, its being copied/pasted to him.

2) His second Fatality looked amazing up until this very lame part:

3) Not enough water!!!! I. want. MORE!!

This right here. I was hoping for all that is good that he would hit them into a portal and they'd fling out the other side of him.
My only real disappointment with this.

Rain looks awesome! The water specials add a whole new visual element to the game, I love it. I was wondering if his lightning would be different than Nightwolfs... it seems like it functions a little differently but looks similar. The control orb looks great too. I'm imagining an enhanced version similar to Reptile's Enhanced Foreball?

His fatalities look great too, although I dont yet understand how water makes their knees break - the same way Kabal can "kick someone up in the air" before slicing them in half I guess...

Now seeing the bloated opponent fatality effect, I wonder why they removed all 'kiss of deaths' from the game. It would've made a great Klassic Fatality to go along with Kitana's retro costume...

BOW DOWN TO THE FUCKING PRINCE! Yes yes yes uber yes! He looks phenomenal and beautiful and better yet scrumptious! That body,those curves,that pelvis bulge(okay in my mind) but YES!!! That intro no no no fuck that get into his sexy ass ROYAL WIN POSE!!!!! OMFG My life is complete! WELL WORTH THE WAIT AND HE COMES NEXT FUCKING TUESDAY!!! I could kiss NRS as a whole and buy them ALL A months vacation to the Playboy Mansion! Excluding Hector of course......he's mind and mine alone! But I love the Roundhouse kick it looks cute and better than I thought it would! The mind orb is better than it was in UMK3! The huge bubble around it makes for a more epic visual much like a Picasso painting! Rain you are looking better than you have looked in your entire MK life which may not be that long but oh fucking well! A RAIN of Terror shall now commence! So where are all the Rain haters now? I, like many people here, have not given even a quarter of a shit about Rain since since about 1996.

And I probably still won't.

Because I doubt this incarnation will be as fun as the one in trilogy.

That said, it's good to finally have him so we can let the incredibly small, yet incredibly vocal group of 7 Rain fans in the universe have their moment.

Before he gets co-opted by bandwagon jumpers everywhere and suddenly, liking him no longer makes you unique or special.

Look again. There's a pretty big visual effect attached to the SRH.

You can briefly see his mouth, and it's not moving at all. He does actually move his mouth in-game, though.
However, I seriously doubt he'll speak (which is pretty dumb going by his established personality.) Not the end of the world, though.

I could be wrong, but It looks like he covers the character in water when he does the Super Roundhouse. He seems to be able to teleport things via water, like himself and other characters, as seen his some of his other specials. Again, I'm not too sure since the video doesn't give the best look at this attack.

Looks really boring and devoid of personality (outside of his twirling intro), plus the water effects are pretty bad in most cases (though that could be video quality). I was hoping he'd get an exciting gameplay revision like Kenshi (or Stryker if you want to go for presentation), but really the only thing that stood out was changing the mind control orb to a water orb which makes much more sense.

I'm also in the group that was never a fan of his super roundhouse unless they want to take it all the way and make him a full-on joke character (or modified it to be more serious with water portals, as suggested).

Unless his vignette somehow makes him really awesome, I'm probably just going to skip this one. Might get compatibility pack if the free costumes are cool.

Waiting on the announcement of the 4th character now.

I can't believe I'm this excited over a freaking "ninja".

Rain might actually come to be my "new Ermac".

Ermac, thanks to MKD, was the first time I ever felt huge amazement and interest over a "ninja".

I am very impressed with Rain and his water powers. I think he's going to be one of my new favorites. I have a feeling I will enjoy him a lot more than I do Kenshi (who is among my top fave Mk characters ever).

Overall, I hope to see more awesome special water powers from him. I also hope his second Fatality is a lot better than what that sneak peak implies ('cause the "water sword" thing looks lame).

rain looks good, nothing TOO amazing, but goddamn that super roundhouse kick is retarded -.-

Rain looks amazing, he's like a badass but a cocky one, his intro is like IM HERE BITCH and then his intro pose is like TADA TOLD YA! lol

His teleport slam is awesome, he basically just grabs them, disappears into water, and he doesn't physically slam them himself, its like he just went up in the sky and let go of them head first and BAM faceplant.

Now his x-ray might have a third hit, raiden has his ending lil lightning ball, maybe rain has something up his sleeve, they usually do show only half anyways :)

To me Rain is badass, just as I thought! He's quick, agile, using his water powers, the mind control orb is now a water orb which encases the enemy in water making them vulnerable to anything! I'm glad they gave him the lightning, it might seem similar but how else can you portray lightning? It comes from the sky just like Rain does. So why not? lol

His fatality, the first one, well it's epic but silly and the only thing I have to say about it is... I CANT WAIT TO SEE THE ENDING! lol I really hope he doesn't just cut someones head off though, I'm very tired of seeing that, I want to see fingers and hands ripped off and shoved in their mouth or stabbing a pressurized water sword into their chest then going down the middle towards the belly button then using the water inside of the body to flush it all out of them, making them shrivel and scream in agony.

Wow! Im very impressed. He's going to be my new main. I love his move set especially the super round house kick, bubble orb and lighting. I'm going to tag team rain and reptile. Thank you nrs!

No, it's not.

Rain's foot is covered in a purple mist and water when he delivers the Super Roundhouse. It may not be the portal concept you're looking for, but at least his foot is covered in the element he uses to manipulate his targets.
Heck, one could argue that since humans are composed of 75% water, maybe his foot connecting to their faces allows him to manipulate where they go, in a more basic, but concentrated, fashion, i.e., right behind him to allow for a setup as the opponent remains disoriented.
Or we could all just agree that Chuck Norris has a brother from another mother in Edenia.

BTW, they HAVE the possible animation for Kitana's Kiss of Doom.

It gives me a little hope to think that they will eventually release these iconic Fatalities for DLC (Sonya's Kiss of Death, Kitana's Kiss of Doom, etc).

Interesting notion since Blueberry and Lime will be arriving along with Rain.
