To an extent i agree with you. But chameleon was the same way before MKA. And if Tremor does only get his 1 big chance to be fully playable in 1 game like Chameleon did. I hope he gets the proper treatment. He really could be a great character. I just wish ed would look past MKSF and introduce him finally in a proper way. As he should have a role in the MKUniverse. He already has a following. I'm part of that.

I hate to be the person that looks a gift horse in the mouth, but if they went as far as to make Tremor playable in the challenge tower, would it have really been that hard to put him in the game as a fully playable character?
Maybe I'm just being greedy, but I bought a Vita and while I'm happy with the all of the extras this MK game has, a new character or two would've gone a long way to help me justify this purchase when I already own the console version.
Still though, it's a nice little bonus to see Tremor in the game, even if it's only for a few fleeting matches. I shouldn't complain, and I don't want to sound ungrateful, but if you're going to go as far as to create him, give him moves and apparently even a fatality, going the extra distance of putting him on the select screen or just putting in a code to turn Smoke in to Tremor or something along those lines really doesn't seem like it would've been too hard. Of course, I say that knowing next to nothing about programing.
Oh well, maybe we'll see him in the future?

He doesn't have a full moves list, though. No Enhanced Specials, Tag Combos, X-Ray, or Finishing Moves.
Gameplay-wise, he's built just like Goro and Shao Kahn are, and neither of them is a fully playable character either, they're only bosses and Challenge Tower exclusives.
And considering that he doesn't even have a costume of his own, he's just a palette swap of the UMK3 Retro...his moves are an amalgam of Smoke and Jax, and his portrait is Noob Saibot...yeah, they clearly didn't spend any actual time creating him, and presumably didn't have any time to build a full new character for the Vita, at least not by release day.

I assume there's no "Tremor Wins" since it's just a Challenge Tower thing, right? I can't remember if the tower had that.

I'm guessing that you're right about the time crunch. Given all they had to put in the game as it was, perhaps fully fleshing out a new character or two would've been a bit too much.
When I say "create" though, I guess I wasn't expecting all that much considering that his stance, attire, moves etc were all ripped from other existing characters. Along those lines, it would've been nice to have seen them finish him off completely and put him on the select screen, though I suppose that would've forced them to actually create combos for him since I'm sure they couldn't just slap Smoke's combos on him without having all of Smoke's special moves.
Regardless, and again I'm sure it's just me being greedy, but shelling out another 40 for this game after paying 60 for the console version, a few more exclusives would've been nice in the form of characters and backgrounds, but oh well. What we got was certainly nice.

To be fair, buying "the same game twice" is what ALWAYS happens with ANY handheld console and the ports that've been made for it. By buying the Vita, you're accepting "I want a portable version of a device that I already have at home."
The Vita is somewhat lucky to get any new content at all and conversely, the people who have no use for buying a Vita are lucky that a few costumes and challenges are all the Vita's getting and they're NOT missing out on any real worthwhile content like a new character. Imagine how mad people who're planning to just stick with the 360/PS3 game would be if Tremor WAS on the select screen?
It's not like you're getting literally the same game twice for the same system, like if you bought Komplete Edition, or SSF4 after getting SF4.

I wouldn't say that. The GBA version of Tony Hawk's Underground was completely different from its home console version, and decent.
Meh. Still nothing to offer gameplay-wise that isn't offered elsewhere, and the BD and LK plotlines are involved enough without tossing him into either.
If this is Ed's attempt to shut the Tremor fans up; he's just whetted their appetites instead.
Argh. Well, maybe they can use MK10 to actually make him into something worthwhile.

I do kind of like the suggestion of Jax getting a direct rival, if we have to live with the erasure of Hsu Hao. I'm always up for more characters with wrasslin' in their movesets.

I prefer more depth and characterization for Hsu Hao. We don't need Tremor, Chameleon or any other "ninja", the room is already full.

Could this be the first step towards making him a fully playable character? Let's hope so.

I would be more than okay with this idea of giving Jax a direct rival, so long as Tremor gets a little bit more to diferentiate himself. Obviously he'd have unique, earth-based attacks and I really like the idea of him having some holds in his moveset, but I don't want another palette swap.
Sure, they should take elements of his Lin Kuei uniform, but he should also have slements of Black Dragon on him as well. In all honesty, a strong character that can combine the two and still look cool would be a character I'd want to use, for sure.

Tremor... Still a lowly palette swap with no original moves of his own, eh?
Not interested.

With the Vita version finally released, I think they'll make Tremor and a few others DLC, or already have it ready but havn't hit the release button yet just to watch us drool.
He should get a few more moves like a sandstorm teleport, stalagmite attack, and definitely a quicksand trap move!!!

Wow Tremor?
I kinda feel like I missed this but..I still kinda hold my ground on what I've been saying. Which is something along the lines of if they included him, I'd like to see him completely NOT a ninja.
I think it's cool they added him in though....at least in some version of this MK.

I vote for Tremor to be the only one from the MK:SF to join the fighting franchise!
Besides. They can remodel him from a ninja to a mercenary looking thug. Bandit masks can work.
