(Please note that this thread is a somewhat tongue-in-the-cheek topic not to be taken too seriously. I am merely playing with the idea and want to share it with you all. So please keep from flaming and merely enjoy it for what it is.)

There have been alot of ridiculous ideas on this forum, especially when it comes to the automation of characters. But one idea I have yet to see is Cyber Scorpion! And when I come to think of it, it might not be that bad of an idea at all... Okay, it is, but it will indeed be a massive improvement and maybe the only solution of making Scorpion the least bit of an interesting character, instead of being stuck in the gutter like he is now.

For so many games... actually, all of his game appearances... Scorpion has been the same old boring character. It was interesting at first, but back then I was a little squid which didn't take much to impress. But Scorpion might be one of the least evolved characters in fighting game history, only to be topped by Ryu from Street Fighter. And I do not mean gameplay wise, but storyline wise, of course.

Scorpion has always been a rage-fueled ninja spectre with one thing on his mind: REVENGE! First it's against Sub-Zero, then against Quan Chi, and even the Elder Gods! No matter who is the target of Scorpion's wrath, it is always with the same agenda. His single-mindedness is the main reason I dislike him as a character.

So how do we improve this guy? Well, by turning him into a cyborg, of course! It improved Sub-Zero a great deal, and he was already quite the cool guy (pun intended). But how would it work out?

Scorpion has had a feud with the Lin Kuei for ages. Bi-Han killed Scorpion, but Scorpion's soul was resurrected as the ninja spectre we know from the games. Quan Chi tricked Scorpion into thinking that it was Bi-Han who murdered his clan and family as well which is what triggered Scorpion's rage to begin with... THE RAGE!!!

... So yeah, Scorpion hates the Lin Kuei, and especially Sub-Zero. Seeing as Sektor is the possible new Grandmaster of the Lin Kuei AND that he also has a certain hatred for Sub-Zero, he could entrap Scorpion and turn him into a cyborg, releasing his awesome new toy at his enemy. Scorpion is already a marionette for Quan Chi, so turning him into a mindless cyborg wouldn't be that much of a change for him. And it would also make some sparks fly between Sektor and Quan Chi, fighting over which one of them will control Scorpion, improving their storylines as well!

As a cyborg, Scorpion will lose his supernatural powers, but will have some similar to them installed into his new form. We have already seen a Cyber Smoke have a harpoon-like special move, so you get the idea of how Scorpion's Spear move could work out. Or maybe keep it attached to his arm, but make it more of a grappling hook than a spear, y'know, to keep it high-tech.

Scorpion, the yellow cyborg ninja. It has a nice ring to it, doesn't it? ;)
