I know it's difficult to convey tone over text, and that others were being hostile.... but that wasn't my intention. Just trying to have a friendly and informative discussion and glad we can come to an understanding.

Everything I said was an objective statement of fact. You complained about someone bringing race into this and then bizarrely connected it to thinking highly of the film Black Panther with seemingly no connection between the two other than race; and thereby also clearly implied thinking highly of that film can also only be because of racial bias.

As a black man, I've witnessed over the years unusual hate towards Jax, Jade, Kai, and Tanya.

It's fortunately not as bad as it could be, but I've seen it. Personally, I just don't like Jax as much as I used to. However, to deny that there are those who dislike Jax - or any of the other aforementioned characters - due to his skin tone would be denying a blatant fabric of of our society. Yes, even in the gaming community, folks like that exist.

Again, it's not as bad as it could be, but it's sad that it exists at all.

In the trailer Jax's face looked "odd" in the sense that I didn't think it fit with him to his previous incarnation. But then again, some other characters had that effect too. In the gameplay, it looked better for some reason. Still think it is too much of a "disconnect" to his MK9 and MKX incarnation (face-wise).
The heating arms mechanics makes things interesting. Especially for his grapple moves it looks like you really need to keep an eye on your meter burning.
I like the fact that they are doing more with the special moves this time around... for everybody.

He said no such thing. He didn't say prejudice is why certain characters are hated 100% of the time. He was just pointing out that it IS a thing in fan communities, and I don't see how anyone who spends any amount of time in practically any fan base could argue about it being a thing.

They should have dropped those too for Kenshi and Takeda in this game both are much more interesting and much more fun to play as

That being said- I guess I do like the heat element they gave him this time around- that's kind of cool. He overall looks decent enough, though I still feel as though he's ultimately a waste of a spot. Especially considering Jacqui looks so much better- I really like what they've done with her.

Kung-Lao and Liu Kang both look awesome. I love that they've given Liu his nunchucks from the 3D era back- those were always pretty cool weapons and fit his character so well- glad they haven't shunned every thing from that era.

Kung-lao looks like a COMPLETE badass.

No offense but the fact that you are black and dislike Jax doesn't preclude the possibility that there are people who do hate on the character because of his color at least on some level. Implying that your dislike of Jax somehow "puts this to bed" is illogical.

About Jax, I don't know, I always like him and most people I know like him too. Um... I never played as him much especially the PS2 era days, I didn't like the way they made him then. MKX I think they knocked it out of the park, I love Jax in that game.

Regarding racism in videogames, and generally, I just ignore the idiots. Of course it is not okay to assume somebody is racist because they don't like a character you like. But yeah weirdos will always exists in all walks of life, I just ignore them.

But I saw that guy who did getting unfairly attacked and strawmanned for it, including someone calling him sick, and it pissed me off so I said something.
