Best DLC ever !!!. Fujin finally, sorry for the fans of Rain. And finaly no more ninja's to much of them in the last couple of games.

Sheeva is awesome. The leak about Sindel and Nightwolf was right after all. Still, I can't believe Smoke and Stryker are not included, they are part of the story, of the revenant story ark, it's just lame and illogical!

I am a little bit disappointed that Pennywise isn't a guest kharacter. Would be so great to see him in action :D

Other than the random Instagram post by John Cena, I never saw a single reference to Stryker.

Glad for Fujin and Sheeva.

Now the only character I really want is Sareena.

Couldn't care less for Sindel or Nightwolf or the Guests.

This isn't my original idea, I read it on another forum and it got me thinking.

The leaked switch files show that there are 9 DLC characters, that lines up with the leaked roster pic earlier this year. But the Kombat Pack is only 6 characters, and I doubt NRS has already decided on KP2 before the game is released. This leads me to believe we might be getting console exclusive DLC characters. For example:

Xbox - Spawn

PS4 - Terminator

Switch - Joker

PC - Ash

We all saw Terminator and Spawn coming, as they were heavily rumored. Spawn is okay, Terminator is gonna heavily depend on what kind of Terminator we get (Arnie T-800? T-1000? Hopefully not just a T-800 endoskeleton). If they get Bruce Campbell to portray Ash Williams, then I'm all in for him. Joker should stay out of MK.

As for the others? Already pleased about Shang coming back (and portrayed by Cary Tagawa no less!), stoked for Fujin and Nightwolf coming back. Sheeva? Okay, I don't mind, since it means we'll have Shokan representation, and she hasn't been playable in 8 years. Sindel...meh.

Assuming this whole thing is correct, I would love to see NRS do a revamp of Nightwolf's moon beam fatality. It was so simple and clean, but I really liked it. Sindel screaming some skin off would be welcome. Just don't put that damn crossbow back in Fujin's hands.

Sareena and Reiko would make me give this roster alone a standing ovation.

Especially Sareena. I feel like she's a character that's been sitting and waiting for the past 22 years to truly make a real debut.

She was planned to be in MK4, but that didn't work out. She was planned to be in Deadly Alliance, but was cut due to time constraints. She ended up in Tournament Edition but who even brought that? I remember a lot of people on here thought she would be in Deception(God, Deception hype, those were the good ole' days <3 ) and we were wrong.

She was finally in Armageddon- but she was overshadowed by a good 60 other characters.

Sareena's had it pretty rough. I really do hope we see her as DLC

And well, since Ash(blah) kills demons...why not have an actual demon on the roster? I can picture a Sareena/Ash intro now...

Someone stated that they don't believe NRS have the characters for KP2 planned and I disagree. I believe they have every single DLC character planned far in advance and are already aware of what is coming down the pipeline. They don't release KP1 and then start sitting around thinking of who to put in KP2...I'm sure they have the final names long before that. These games takes tremendous time and work and now with custom variations, various intros ect they have to start working on a lot of this waaaaaaaay ahead of time.

Granted- I'm not saying they're ready- not at all- but I'm sure they have their final list of names and are doing some type of development before KP2 is announced later/at the end of this year.

As far as console specific guests, look, it really doesn't matter to me. I'm not purchasing any of them. But I'd imagine NRS wouldn't go that route- it would piss a lot of people off and in the end probably mean less money- why not have it so every one can purchase ALL guests no matter the console? Nah, I don't see Console-exclusive guests as being the plan.

I just think it's possible there's 3 more MK characters to make a total of 12 across two Kombat Packs.

That'll make 37 characters which is right up there with what Boon said about the final roster being "30 something."

As a diehard Reiko fan, I hope this is true. If an obscure character like Tremor can make the cut, I don’t see why they’re holding back with Reiko.

While I'm not pleased with the amount of guest characters, I'm at least tolerant of two of them.

Spawn is a welcome addition (plus I already liked him in Soulcalibur II), and Joker was inevitable. The other two guests can go screw themselves. With this I think my tally would be:

Shang Tsung - Instant Buy!

Nightwolf - Buy Later

Sindel - Instant Buy!

Spawn - Instant Buy!

Terminator - Won't Buy

Joker - Buy Later

Fujin - Instant Buy!

Ash - Won't Buy

Sheeva - Instant Buy!

Absolutely agree. And don't forget that before the MK9 DLC were announced Ed Boon teased Skarlet's boot on twitter and most people assumed it would be Sareena. But it wasn't her turn yet again.

And although Sareena deserves to come back as a seperate character for sure I would also be happy to see Sareena, Kia and Jataaka make it as one different variation character (as Triborg). In my opinion all three of them looked great in MK Mythologies and deserve to come back at some point.

I don't think the guests will be console exclusive. If the guests were console exclusive they'd be announced already, as that could potentially effect buying decisions, and cause a backlash when people found out "I want X character, but I can't get him because I bought on the wrong console and you didn't tell me this in advance"

Spawn is the only guest I feel we truly needed and is really the only guest that I think the greater fanbase would be really excited about.

I'm surprised they went with Joker over Pennywise, I think Pennywise, being an interdimensional alien creature that could shape-shift into your biggest fears would've been a lot of fun but perhaps him changing into every character's greatest fear would be too much work. Joker, I 'm curious to see what interpretation they go with or perhaps they'll make a brand new MK inspired look for him- if it's the latter then I think that's a good idea. Also, seeing the Joker actually being able to brutally kill someone without the constraints of Superhero kiddie gloves might prove intriguing...But on the other hand, after MKVSDC and Injustice, The Joker being in Mortal Kombat has lost a little of its initial flare.

Terminator and Ash are scrapping the bottom of the barrel in my opinion. If we're going to get that desperate and ridiculous- I'd rather have a kick-ass Neve Campbell as a Mortal Kombat re-imagined Sidney Prescott. Now that, I'd pay top dollar for that! Especially after seeing how good she looked in that movie Skyscraper-

If I remember correctly from the leak days, the full list of names they had heard in consideration was Terminator, Joker, Ash, Spawn, Sindel, Nightwolf, Fujin, Sheeva, Reiko, Sareena, Takeda and Li Mei.

Now thats 12, and we know Shang is in, so one of those last 4 is taking the cut. My guess, if they were smart, is sit Takeda out. But considering their love of the kids, I wouldnt be surprised to see Li Mei not make it.

So that leaves Reiko, Sareena, Li Mei, and Takeda. Like you said KenshiMaster, they love the Kombat Kids and Takeda was probably the most well received...so perhaps he's a given...BUT...I don't...seems like it would do them better to save him for MK12. But I doubt it. If I had to guess- it'll probably shake out like this-

Kombat Pack 1-

1) Shang Tsung

2) Fujin

3) Sindel

4) Night Wolf

5) Spawn

6) Joker

Kombat Pack 2

1) Sheeva

2) Takeda

3) Reiko

4) Sareena (FUCK This is tough. Choosing between Li Mei and Sareena....ugh. Both had cameos in MKX, both are liked decent enough by NRS, both have their own tight knit group of fans, both are on similar standing. Fuck this is difficult. But I think I might would have to go with Sareena simply because she IS slightly cooler and she's a demon which might would make for some fun interactions with Ash, but those points are bullshit assumptions on my part. But I'm going with Sareena because NRS have been trying to get her in a big main title game for years now and I think this might finally be the opportunity. Sorry Li Mei, perhaps MK12.

But 4 DLC females (Sindel, Sareena, Sheeva, Li Mei) on top of an already impressive list of females in the base roster- would make MK11 iconic. Perhaps all 4 are in and they'll have two MK females per pack along with two males per pack (Sindel, Sheeva KP1) (Sareena, Li Mei KP2)

Which means either Reiko or Takeda may indeed sit out.
