The more I watch the trailer the more I like it. I think she'll be kinda like a breath of fresh air from the rest of the roster. Definitely separates heself from the rest and to play as another (if shes is) elder god. Leaves so much interest in the story and interactions amongst the other kombatants.
This design is atrocious. I sure hope she has vastly improved alteranate outfits/skins.
I think the design is gorgeous.
She's growing on me, now. The initial green theme was a bit too on the nose with Poison Ivy. The blue skin, copper hair, and red armor is a vast improvement.
lol this is so pathetick
Overall she seems cool but that fatality is by far the worst one that has been shown, it's way too much like an Injustice super move plus that beam was big enough to take out a small country when it came out of her mouth and by the time it hits the ground it's just the width of a human being? kind of a silly one but her overall powers are cool
She looks a lot like Bryce Dallas Howard.
I'm already movie casting haha lol.

To be fair, when has an elder god ever had a good design? Shinnok, ultimate evil of the series, the devil himself. Lol dress him up in a court jester outfit and give him Steve Berans' face!
I think MK11 will go down as the best MK game in regards to the sheer female excellence.
That fatality is really stupid.
OMG she is AMAZING!!! She alone has gotten me now from looking forward to MK11 to being THRILLED!! OMG she will be my main and I'm going to have a blast with her. Amazing new character!!!! Already a favorite.

The only thing I don't like about her is the fatality shown. Everything else I love.
I think it's dope that she controls all the elements instead of just one. It keeps her from being a literal one-trick pony. It opens the door for all kinds of ideas for moves in future installments, should she return. Also, it's dope to have another Elder God as a playable character. I've always hated how they just sat back and let shit happen, even though they have the power to solve things. Cetrion is a prime example of an Elder God solving shit. I love her already!
It feels like such an evolution of the franchise. This is the type of new character I LOVE. Cetrion is a game changer of a character and not just another Kombat Kid. Which is Oh so refreshing.
Why are you at an MK forum in the first place? If you rather want MK to turn in Injustice go be happy at injustice forums.. You cant be a mortal kombat fan while you rather see injustice archatypes. I dont understand.
Since when is a cosmic goddess of the earthly elements an Injustice archetype? I don't remember anything like that from the Injustice games.
And even if it is... since when is MK not allowed to create characters inspired by existing pop culture icons?

How quickly we all forgot that the Injustice super moves are just MK9 X-rays with more drama. Everything Injustice has, it learned from Mortal Kombat.
How quickly we forget the times that Jax turned five hundred feet tall and stomped on a guy, or when Smoke blew up the entire planet with like sixteen chest bombs. Mortal Kombat has pretty much always been ridiculous.
....
... I hope the people who have a problem with Cetrion are not also the ones complaining about too many humans, not enough monsters and gods and magic powers.
RE: The Fatality...
I admittedly liked the idea of what I thought it was going to be better than what it actually turned out to be.
I thought she was crushing the opponent's body with a cascade of rocks, then growing moderately huge and heel kicking their head off, leaving a headless broken and mangled corpse. Which seemed a traditional MK mix of brutal/cool, and I enjoyed the fatality up to that point, when I thought that was where it was going...
The third act was what killed it for me. Had it ended violently at the kick, I'd have loved it. But the third act reveals the opponent is completely alive, well, and back on their feet after the rock crush and the heel kick... making the first two components of the fatality essentially pointless. And she continues growing outrageously huge... to the point where you question why any of these characters would ever even be a threat to her in the first place... and... ya'know, spits a laser out of her mouth. Rendering everything else that happened up to that point relatively moot (not just in the fatality, but arguably, the entire fight)
And to me a space laser is a less interesting finale than a giant-sized decapitation kick. *Shrug* though I suppose that's subjective.
BUT... whatever. Just my 2 cents. Not like I'm boycotting the game over it or anything.

Finally, someone who feels exactly as I do!
Cetrion's going to go down as one of the best MK characters- I can feel it. She's something special right out of the box.
I definitely think this may become one of those moments where we'll ask "Where were you when Cetrion was revealed?"
So exciting!
LMFAAAOOOOOO OMG
YOU'LL PAY FOR THIS, CAPTAIN PLANET! *shakes fist*

I agree that it does look like the first stomp had strangely little effect. Maybe some broken bones oughtta be sticking out or something, and they can show a few more frames of the victim struggling to pick themselves up before the final laser instead of having them already standing there looking mildly dazed.
I'm cool with the laser though. It's a god's way of telling you to STAY DOWN, and the escalation of scale flows pretty smoothly.
Fatalities in general tend to make the rest of the fight moot. Why doesn't Sektor just trash-compact you to begin with? Why doesn't Raiden just grab you with his shocker move and not let go until you're dead? Why doesn't Skarlet take all your blood as soon as the announcer says "FIGHT," or Ermac just rip you apart from across the screen? They're all holding back their true power until the announcer gives them permission to end you.
She looks pretty cool! Digging her whole mother nature vibe and her use of the four elements is pretty cool. I like her fatal blow but as for her fatality....

^ This about sums up my feelings. One of my biggest problems with a lot of fatalities since MK9 is they just go to far with the overkill after someone is already dead or should be dead. The giant stomp would've been the perfect finisher, that they enemy gets up no worse for wear and needs to get finished by the giant energy beam is too much.
Also would Kano be the heart planeteer?
Cetrion was born from the planet, speaks with the planet, and unlocks the planet.
And she's fighting on the planet's side
That Captain Cetrion & her Cetrioneers image perfectly encapsulates my feelings on the character, what an absolute nightmare of a mix and match character I've ever seen in Mortal Kombat. I genuinely hope she is a one and done character...
