As for my character, I call him Delaask. He's a lone ax-dragging vigilante. One day, he meets an orphan who, just by running into him, awakens his soul. From then on, he swears to guard her with his life while also trying to find his past.
I was thinking that axe would be some unholy power, like Soul Edge.

Her name is Lilith, and she is the goddess of death.

She has kept herself hidden until now because she is a neutral deity, concerned only the finality of death. She reveals herself now only because of the recent turmoil in the netherrealm. Noob Saibot has successfully built multiple cities that share nekros ability to protect people from the realm's power draining effects, and all of them connected by well guarded tunnels, pushing the oni into progressively lower and lower levels. This new development has stirred the death goddess into action where as before she simply dumped evil souls in the netherrealm without monitoring their actions unless they escaped.

She approaches the Ninja Spectar, Scorpian, with an offer: steps down from his role as the Elder Gods champion to serve her directly. Indeed, the position is far less prestigious, but she will share a piece of her essence with him making him far more powerful [something the elder Gods would NEVER do]. Scorpion is at first dubious of this offer, but agrees to be her avatar when she promisses him one day of each year in the heavens to be with his family. Her first mission for him is to seige and destroy Noob Saibot's empire fortress by fortress, stone by wretched stone.

To further motivate Scorpian, Lilith reveals to him Noob's true name: Sub-zero.

Scorpian vows to his new goddess that he will destroy the wraith with his bare hands.

hanzo was born in a place called eci retsam where it was alwas snow but no one could control it. also if one bit of spark went on the planet the whole planet will be gone off the galexy chart because its planet was a giant dynamight. a few milleniums there was peace until the scansors attacked they could control fire and could take the power of other fire also. when they found out about there planet they thaught that they would take the power of the explosion for themselves. when they got there the planet was gone except a few members the explosion made them have the power to control ice because all the snow they lived in. hanzo was one of them they found raiden and the other elder gods and they took them to earth realm and also the scansors. after the years in earth realm it was time they named the clan few members of the clan said shei ryu all the scansors agreed the rest said luin kuie all the eciepians agreed so they put the clan apart scansors went to shei ryu the ecipians to the luin kuie they both promised that no war would occur between them and they both agreed. of course there came a fued of what was better ice or fire then a war came. the survivors were some shei-ryu same luin kuie frost's mother and hanzo hasashi so they married and the children came sub-zero, noob saibot and frost. then foze frost's mother left. it was too dangerous liveing with the man who was the luin kuie grand master. hanzo agreed. hanzo found another pack of eci retsam and asked them to join his clan and then hanzo was killed by scorpion. so the oldest brother joined mortal kombat and killed scorpion and then you know waht happens after that...

I would like to see more people do drawings of what they want their characters to look like. If you don't know how to draw that well all you have to do is look at some reference material online of what people look like (using google image search of course, or equivalent), or look at some mk characters. If you print this stuff out you can trace over just the general outline of the body with tracing paper and then add in whatever accessories you want (gauntlets, necklaces, armor, etc.) Don''t forget you can use a ruler to aid you in measuring proportions as well as aiding you with the overall design of your character. Just hearing descriptions of what the character looks like and what powers he has is bland. I will try to get some up when time permits.

Take a look at the Kreate-a-Kharacter tournament that's wrapping up in the Armageddon forum. Most characters have at least screenshots of what they're supposed to look like, and some are even hand-drawn. Hell, I figure Ed Boon and the boys from Midway could save themselves a hellava lot of time thinking up new original characters by just taking a look at what fans like us come up with.

Heres one I did today. Even though I didn't want to put that much work into it, it still took me about 2 hours to do. I've had this character in mind for quite some time now.

I agree. I made this thread so people could utilize thier artistic skill to give thier characters more depth. But mostly all I'm seeing is more of the redundant formula's for characters. I seriously dont care if you are the worst drawer ever, just make an effort people. Formulas are okay, pictures are better, but together they are the best they can be.
