Tips:
1. Well, you first have to get the sizes correct for this site. The biggest size you might consider using is like mine---400(width) x 150(height)
Bigger than that starts to seem bulky and overwelming to the posters readers. Any other size beneath that is cool as long as it's tall enough to get the idea you have across, and wide enough not to be a avavtar.

2. To get your pictures more "smooth"....Initially, you wanna try and get the best cutouts you can. The better the quality and really important, the edges of the pictures, the better posibility you have of coming up with a more clear peice of work. Another thing you can do is experiment with lighting features in that program to try and establish a "focal point". Photoshop is also really good for a great output(preserving the quality of the original pictures) once the work is save.

3. Blending is also important. I see in your Cyrax peice there, your over using the "soften edge" feature. I know why, but a way around that is a better cutout or render. Go to the cut out thread to see the difference between the renders you're using and good, smooth edged renders. There are some bad ones in there too. Notably my Sektor and Jonny Cage cutouts. Lol.

4. One more tip. "Right Click >>Copy Image location, and then File Open>>Imput that copied url in the Open File field and wait for the image to load up in your program. You'll find out why Gif, Png, Jpeg, and others are important. Do this to get the renders with the transparent backgrounds into your program for manipulation in your work. Makes things alooot easier on you.

Nah, just keep practicing. Keep doing them even if yours is not used because you got some work ahead of you. But, I believe you're in the right place to experiment and gain skill. Also try everything, I found that I'm not really the "Cutout" guy y'now? I tried that first and sucked bad. I kept trying that and continued to suck bad. Lol!
It allowed me to realize that I should capitalize on all the ideas I have. So I do avatars, sigs, and wallpapers. Cuz those allow my creativity to stretch out and grow in a self propelled progression.

I know how big a "load" I can take on at one time now too, and still express those ideas in each independent peice of work. How much time I take..ect

Myself, I still haven't caught on to photoshop yet though. I'm slowly experimenting with it the same way I did with my main program. So I'm still pretty much using PhotoImpact 10, the program I started out on. Using it differently because I've been keeping at it for a while now. You find little tricks and stuff when you constantly use whatever you're using to make pictures.

Funny thing is, I'm still not good enough. At least I don't think so and most likely to the more experienced. I still got alot to learn and try myself. That's one good reason I keep doing it.

The sig(if didn't know the correct title of it), is what apprears in the bottom part of your post, the bottom picture. The Avatar is where your Scorpion picture currently is. Not trying to make you seem like an idiot or anything just tyring to help inform.

yeah thts y ur a pro lol, so thrs a thread whr u can get good pics? awesome. but one thing ive never understood is how u make sigs with those multi designed backrounds like that? mine are always black, except my darrius one, i learned how to make tht on some website i think i lost the link to, but thts not my point.I want to explore photoshop a while longer and keeping making them to help give ppl more options(even tho im 100% posative he would get urs)

I make my own backrounds on the sigs i have been using for practice, i think there good.

But how in the name of hell Preadator makes the backgrounds he does, i hope to soon know.

Could someone make me a sig with shao kahn in the middle at the front and all his sort of minions (goro, kintaro, motaro, sheeva,reiko etc) standing next to and behind him And have it saying Ruler_of_Outworld down the bottom, please?
