The previous contests can be found by doing a forum search within the Fan Submission and 2002-2006 forums. Unfortunately, a lot of the data was lost due to various storage methods we've used over the users. Originally, the contest was ran by Brodeur before I heightened my involvement and eventually inherited it. He hosted most of the older contests on Geocities, which has now gone offline and the data lost with it. Sindra used her webspace to run the 5th contest, but I'm not certain she still has the data or not. You may be able to find some of the older character bios if you do some research and get lucky.

As for the question asked about character revelations, I will be revealing them all together. I will then announce a start date for the preliminary matches and afterward the start of the actual tournament. Given the size of this contest, we will likely run multiple matches each day in the first couple of rounds. You will be able (I hope) to browse through all the characters before the actual contest begins, however. We're still working on it, will try to have things ready to display as soon as possible.

i just want to pass the first two rounds, but further would be awesome. i dont really want to go out in the first round though, good luck dudes and dudettes

just a suggestion crow, i dont think there should be more than 3 matches a day in the first few rounds because, that way we can look at all 6 characters, otherwise we may look at one match more than others like if theres 5 matches reading 10 fighters maybe a hassle. But obviously its down to you, so whatever you go with ill try reading them all in depth each round. Are you going to get the prelimanirys underway soon? i want to see a few fights lol. Well, won't be telling you about Merrick yet, but I will tell you about Merrick's original concept named, somewhat coincidentally, Malcolm.

My creative process for MK characters starts by first thinking of:

A. A fighting style

and

B. A set of abilities.

Once I decide that I start building the character around them. Now, I can't tell you anything about those because the fighting style remained the same with some things added to it in the transition, whereas the powers are now a refined version of Malcolm's.

I can, how ever, tell you what I scrapped in turning Malcolm into Merrick.

Mal was going to be a private eye Earthrealmer who was the last soul drawn into the Soulnado before Noob Saibot. The exposure his soul had to Noob's granted him his abilities (not at all related to Noob's due to the nature of the Soulnado and the crossing of their souls), while also tainting his own soul. The taint was more powerful than the kind one gets naturally from evil deeds, it, in fact, drove him to commit evil. He resisted, but he knew it was only a matter of time before he would succumb, and with his new abilities he would be a serious threat. And so, Malcolm set out to find a way to master himself, both his powers and his tainted soul, training with several martial arts masters and, eventually, finding himself amongst the Shao Lin.

I decided that the story wasn't tight enough and hit a few too many beats that other characters' did. So I tossed it, kept Malcolm's 2ndary costume (as Merrick's primary), powers, and fighting style.

Nice, gonna see some character information soon! So exciting..

Before that, I'll try to build another Multi-Guess list for other characters I didn't preview previously.

Dude, I STRONGLY agree with you. :) I have to say too that I appreciate all the kind and considerate people who make this online experience fun and treat eachother with the utmost respect. I was really shocked because a lot of online forums have a lot of harsh criticism and cynicism, but not this one! This ones the best!

Well I say mysterious but yet she will seem familiar. Kinda like meeting someone that you never met but swore you already knew them. The ending I made is a what if style ending and not a story ending too. I wanted to follow that what if system rather than stay on the same path as the bio/introduction. It is actually a twisted what if ending and I will say that Raiden has much involvement in her canon story aswell as her what if. Her canon future I will post after the contest if anyone wants to know it. I was going to say that I will tell everyone only if I win but that is kinda a cheap way to gain votes...So win or lose I will give you the detailed canon after if yas all want it. I just hope that the concept of my character is not disappointing. I can't wait to see all the characters and I can not wait to see how far Luna will go.

I hope I make it past the first round, it's looking really hard with some people being so creative, Maybe I should've just entered my second idea instead.

Please refer to my last post. We are trying to have the characters placed in a location that will be convenient to access them. This takes a little time, given the wealth of characters involved in the tournament and the fact I want to be sure I have the correct copies.
