I heard so much about Shoulen that i kind of begin to really dislike him. It ussually happens that way with me, this game o most made me hate Quan Chi...

Merrick: Oh My God! A healer in a fighter? Yes please!

This is a scenario where I vote for the most entertaining character... Because games are a form of entertainment, and I do grow weary of typical MK fodder. Yes, Shoulen is above average in this pack, but the difference just isn't significant enough to make him any more interesting than them. He is slightly better than many when it comes to story and overall design, but he lacks creative spark. Krustacean is a more endearing entry... He is charismatic because he isn't serious. He also stands out in the crowd more, even if he is technically a flawed design.

Of course, I can't speak for everyone, some people might really just be tired of Shoulen as someone said above, which is unfortunate, but what are you gonna do?

It's like in reality tv competitions where the underdog takes the win at the last moment. Shoulen has been pimped by the producers while Krustacean slowly builds up a following. At the last minute, an overwhelming amount of votes pour in because people root for the underdog.

I have a feeling judge votes will be more in favor of Shoulen, though.

Personally, I like that Krustacean embraces its absurdity, while Shoulen seems completely oblivious of its. They both ask a heckuva lot, but at least Krustacean has fun while doing so.

Guess people are looking for fun characters then? I know Shoulen had no chance against a "fun" character. But oh well...

We hear a lot about the characters of MK everywhere on the net, so does that mean you dislike them too? I simply wanted everyone to know all they can about my character that I cut from my entry because I thought the length would frighten people off.

Hearing a lot of Scorpion don't mean you are going to dislike him. So I can't except that as an answer for you not to vote Shoulen. I think it's more the case of hating the creator. Me...

Well so be it. People think that the MK story is a fun universe to be in. Tell that to the fighters that die. The MK universe is anything but fun. That is how I see the MK universe. Dark, bloody and disturbing.

Again. My opinions on this matter will be laughed at. Good luck to Krustacean in Round 3.

Opinions are just that, opinions. It's not like voting for Krustacean means we disliked Shoulen, it's just that we preferred Krustacean (that's the case for me).






Nobody hates you and I can assure you, I don't vote for characters based on not liking the creator, in fact I like everyone here, but even if I didn't I wouldn't be that childish.

Shoulen is a nice character, but so is Krustacean.This round between both characters is close, I wouldn't assume you've lost.

Mortal Kombat has always had comedy relief and a sense of humor about its tragic and gory elements. There's a place for both the serious and the silly in this series by the Creators' own admission.

The feedback I am getting about this contest is that users look at these created characters with seeing if they would 'fit' into the world of MK.

Comic relief in MK... Ok... We have Johnny Cage. But some of the created characters here are not meant to be comic relief. I wonder how some of the characters that got past the first round could be any part of the MK universe and I cant see how without making MK light hearted. Which it isn't.

Yes this is meant to be a fun contest, but it also has to be looked at seriously.

I can't believe that people are getting so bent out of shape over a weird and unrealistic character. I am sick and bored of "generic fighter bent on revenge super speshul snowflake hamfisted into already existing characters storyline". You people do remember that mortal kombat is the game with the lizard man, and the guy with swords in his arms, and oh yeah, the guy who shoots ice?

MK has always been a silly premise, and the fact that we take it seriously is what makes it unique among fighting games.

That is why I shall vote, now and until the end of time, for the sovereign lord of Moonlantis.

Yeah... I can really see the premise of a moon that has 'cheese' on it being in an MK storyline...

And you say your are sick of the revenge trip? But yet you still pick Krustecean as he has been on the revenge trip for thousands of years! haha! Shows you read the storylines of these characters well don't it lol

This is the voting thread perhaps this discussion should be taken elsewhere? As to make counting the votes less confusing so people don't have to read over all this stuff.

I really liked Scorpion before all the publicity he got for this game. Now i can't stand him. I'm not saying that it's wrong to do some publicity of your charachter, it's just that it ussually gets the opposed effect with me.

And don't try to victimize yourself. I don't hate you nor do i have any reason to do it. I think you take this contest a little to seriously.

I'm not being biased, In all honesty I think my character is better (Excuse my arrogance at the moment) If you bother to read them, the story of my character is more plausible, and the moves and fighting style are much more suited for gameplay. Fatalities and X-ray are on a rather even playing field, but the ending of my character is so much better (How many times have I heard something about creating chaos over all realms?..) The only thing my character lacks is a good picture design..
