Raiden!

Lord Raiden gets my vote today.

Raiden of course. He will always be better than Shinnok for me.

I like Raiden more, but my vote goes to Shinnok. I like the character and I'm excited about his possible return as a playable character in MKX. If he's gonna be playable I'll try him out before Raiden.

Even though my Swami sense went with Raiden, I myself will choose Shinnok. Sure, he has a knack for appearing in only mediocre titles so far, I wonder what he's capable of with the NRS team (not Midway) behind him. Perhaps it's not too far away.
Raiden has too much mileage on him in terms of storyline and I think it's near time someone else took the reins.

Mainly because I'm stoked for his re-emergence.

I voted Raiden out of loyalty, but I wouldn't mind if Shinnok had made it in instead of him.

To be honest I'm shocked it's this close. I didn't think Shinnok was very well-liked in the MKO Community.

Me neither. Personally, I don't see the appeal.

Raiden, but I'd LOVE to see Shinnok appear in MKX, bitch-slapping some generic "good guy" like Darkseid did with Superman in the 90's animated series. If Kiefer Sutherland doesn't voice the Elder God, I think Corey Burton or Michael Ironside would be more fitting.

Voted for Raiden. Also just got caught up on the organized off-site efforts to push Kitana through/oust Scorpion.

Would you feel better if Scorpion won?

Probably less to do with Shinnok being well-liked atm and more to do with a general sense of excitement with how NRS is going to redesign him for MKX.

Then again, people could also be choosing him because:

A). They generally disdain Raiden for his epic fuck-ups in MK9's storymode (which, honestly, I felt bad for Raiden throughout the entire story...dude couldn't catch a break to save his, or anyone elses, life).

OR

B). For shits and giggles.

I knew this matchup would be a barnburner from the start. They're both Elder Gods after all, story notwithstanding.

Fujin may make the finals but he's not winning. He's not THAT popular.

Well, it WAS kinda fun to see all those arrogant Scorpion fans early on the Scorpion VS Kitana battle to get their traps shut when the flow of Kitana fans came in and ensured her victory. ^^

Scorpion lost. Now move on.

It's actually the anti-Scorpion fans I see more as the arrogant bunch.

Well, arrogance beckons arrogance, I guess. This is a small victory. Scorpion is still the main man of Mortal Kombat. This tournament doesn't mean anything, it's just for fun.

But when a group of people go all "Of course Scorpion wins, it only makes sense, he is better than his opponent.", and then he loses... it's a bit satisfying. ^^

Whatever floats your boat. I already know Scorpion has almost zero chance to win the whole thing. Because although he has a pretty solid fanbase on MKO, nothing is as great as his hate-group.

Well, please do remember that it was because of a Kitana fangroup that ensured her victory. People who voted for Kitana because they want her to win, not just people who just wanted Scorpion to lose. If they hadn't joined to vote for her, then I don't think she would have won.

Scorpion-haters might be a vocal group... but we are a minority on this site. Scorpion would have won if it was only us who voted for Kitana.

Kitana won fair and square because of Kitana fans.

I see it more as an anti-Scorp fangroup that ensured his defeat. Kitana and Scorpion both have large fangroups, but ultimately its the Scorpion-hate that swings the vote.

So a Kitana fangroup is an anti-Scorpion fangroup, is what you're saying? Well, ask them that, but I doubt that having Kitana as a favourite character means you have to hate Scorpion.

Guys, let's drop it, because one side is never going to cede to the other in this argument. Scorpion spam voting was a problem in past tournaments but not this one.

Moving on.
