If I want to vote against a character, then I'm gonna do that. People can vote for whatever reason they want, there's no rules about that.

The purpose of such threads is to show our allegiances to our favourite characters while swinging our enormous e-peens around and trash talking people. Usually we indulge ourselves in some good fashioned tossery.

MUGEN would be its own brand of fun, but much more arbitrary and wholly removed from the present). The Supreme Champion contest is intended to take stock of where the series and its characters are at a given time. It's an opportunity to generally revel in favourite characters, but also map some of the broad changing tastes that come with each new installment.

It's not an exact science and there are a lot of different interpretive angles, but you can certainly see anticipation for MKX having an effect on this year's contest. It will be interesting to track the progress of the new MKX characters. Example: If we'd been doing this in the lead up to MKDA, Hsu Hao (Khan) probably would've polled strong amidst early speculation. Now he's one of the least popular fighters. That would've been reflected (and debated) in the fan contest. Over the next few years, we'll see how new MKX fighters are taken in and observed.

All of this is why I would say 'annoying opinions' need only be balanced out with the addition of differing opinions. If you feel there's a flaw in the majority conversation: simply add what you consider to be better! The more input - the better!

We've got plenty of moaning. What we really need is interesting new perspectives. If you have access to MUGEN - why don't you post simulated results for each of the remaining matches? That could certainly be a unique addition to the broader conversation.

This statement sounds strange since decision to put new MKX characters in the poll was made by administration, not by regular userbase. Because of it, it could be said, that this anticipation, at least in regards to the current competition was created artificially. This decision looks especially strange, since there is not much we know about new characters, their appearances and names aside.

I don't like it, but I vote against certain characters, just to make competition more interesting.
