Its your opinion, but I just want to say that NOTHING Enenra can be bland.

Dragons, Vampires, Werewolves and Zombies are BLAND and overused, an original Japanese yokai like the smoke demon Enenra can't be overused and bland because they are freaking rare, Smoke is the only Enenra to appear in a video game EVER, even Final Fantasy and D&D don't use Enenra's yet. And i'm doing all I can to get Enenra's into Pathfinders 5th Bestiary.

So don't call Enenra Bland.

It's a little unfair to assume just because I disdain Smoke's MK9 design, that I'm automatically a palette-swap whore.

I baffled that they've omited Khameleon - legitimate character with her own story unlike Chameleon.

Goro! And what about mokap, chamaleon, khameleon and kotal kahn? I presume the last one wasn't included cause there's a possibility to be shao kahn's incarnation or something like that, but as we don't know yet, he should be included I think....

We already have the explanation why Kahn's not included. But do we seriously need an explanation for Mokap?

Hell, I would've put Mokap in instead of Kobra. At least one of them was purposely meant to be a complete joke.

We don't need an explanation for C/Khameleon. They've added zip to the MK universe. Yeah, she's supposedly a member of Rep's race, but that was nearly a decade ago and nothing since.

I don't mean Mokap is important, I'm just saying that if he participated of a MK fighting game I think he could be part of it...of course, whoever would have faced him, this one would have my vote

I don't think Goro has ever been tremendously popular since day one.

Plus, it's the Jade Syndrome with Smoke: popular due to connection w/cornerstone character despite hardly doing anything storywise or having their own identity.

Im voting Smoke... Goro just doesn't interest me and Smoke has the Enenera buisiness there, so theres that going for him.

I'm torn on this one. MK9 stripped Smoke of everything that made him interesting. The whole enenra thing was a neat curve ball, but hell, it doesn't matter. He died anyway.

Despite the reboot, Goro remains the 9 time champion of mortal kombat(makes you wonder how he got his ass handed to him the entire story mode). That counts for something.

Hell with it. I'll just picture cyborg smoke while I'm clicking vote.

What have they even done with Smoke and his backstory? A thirty second ending? Bland. Nitara was more fleshed out as a 'bland' vampire. Dragons have an extensive history spanning thousands of years across many continents. As do werewolves and vampires. As far as zombies, check out the walking dead. Not much blandness to any of those. Surely over saturated.
If someone likes blue and you like red, do you tell them why blue is an awful color, or do you just go on liking red?

To be fair, all the baddies were made to look like asses in the MK9 story mode. But hey, at least 99% of them lived (minus Sindel, and Noob, I think).

True. Really hope story mode will tell both sides of the story this game. It's a small step that would make a huge difference.

I think Goro looked alot better in the MKD-MKA days than he does in MK9. It's the same with Sheeva - they looked ferocious back then. Sure, Goro is still a big hunk of muscles, but his face looks alot less ferocious.




Smoke, however, has never looked better, imo. His new main look is awesome and definately a step in the right direction. I was never a human Smoke fan, but I was never really a cyber Smoke fan either. I liked his MKD-MKA look as a smoke elemental, but that's about it. His MK9 appearance works though and his new background as an enenra gives him a twist that I really like, and I hope we'll see more of him.

Love both characters. MK 4 Goro>>all other versions of him. I'm picking Smoke in this one however. I agree with you Jaded his MK 9 look was his best look so far.
