This IS a stupid Idea BUT look at the trailer. It looks fucking awesome. I don't care if they put mickey mouse in it.. The fact of the matter is that it looks awesome.. and probably plays awesome. And if everyone has their own fatality.. things could be pretty damn interesting.

most likely, it'll look cool. i'm sure batman will have some dope moves, and of course killing batman/killing with batman is go make people buy this. if i remember correctly, superman is DC too.. if so... he's unbeatable except to goku or raiden - haha.

1. why would you kill off all MK fighters in the game before with no explaination, then bring them back in this game??? 2 years later???

( im guessing they're going to have to bring back people like lui kang, kung lao, kabal, stryker, jax, sonya, kano, ermac, rain, noob, reptile just to fill the roster i mean.. you cant just have scorp and sub vs DC )

2. WHY oh why would you not do MORTAL KOMBAT VS KILLER INSTINCT instead of this shit?!?!!? it matches up better with character skill level/style... and all the levels from KI and MK already match up... it's a match made in heaven f'real.

I really hope they do this right and don't screw up. Everytime I watch the teaser I say, wtf. I would never think that this would happen. It is gonna be ridiculous to see the Green Lantern face Mileena or Scorpion, right now my expectations are pretty low.

Honestly, this game looks like crap in every way. The gameplay looks worse then ever, and the whole idea of the game is just dumb.

Midway, you failed me, and now your whole company will go under for it.

I think there are only TWO things this game can do to save itself for me:

1) A GREAT fighting engine.
2) Downloable content including ARENAS and SHITLOADS OF MORE MK & DC CHARACTERS

I don't know if I'd say "real MK fans" with that being said, most that are hating the idea either. A real MK fan would be openminded to new ideas, not just hell bent on "fatalities" there's more to a game then just "fatalities"

A. Hate DC

B. Hate no fatalities(even though the of late ones were hardly realistic and can't hold a lick to the originals)

C.Are either ignorant, closeminded fans that are hardly open to new ideas....

I think KI might intrigue the KI fans, just like some of which the DC fans are loving this match up right now but at the same time KI is dead and buried dude. I think honestly it would look really bad for them to get hot again only to be merged with the MK universe and not a KI3 game of their own...like Rare so promised the fans...ha, the heck with ripping Midway, they listen to the fans MKD, MKA much? with everyone? unlike rare who just says "yeah, we'd love to see a KI3 game" yet never delivers...

Well I gave myself a day to think about it and, yeah, I'm still pissed off. I've been playing mk since 1992 and never could've seen this coming. I haven't been paying much attention to the mk world since mkd because I started college around that time and payed more attention to my studies. But when I heard about a new mk game on the next gen consoles using the unreal 3 engine, I got really excited. Being a fan of gears of war, I thought that this was the perfect look for the new mk, as boon said, dark and gritty. The day finally came for some info, and they drop this turd on us. I'm just really tired of the cryptic codes, countdowns, and scrambled words. Hey ed try this one: oyu kufngic llestou!!! Countdowns that lead to nowhere (btw, you can auto update at the end of a countdown), blurry images, just a big waste of time. How come when a new tekken is announced we don't get this much bs to sift through? I'll tell you one thing, this game better have one killer fighting engine in it to compete with the likes of sf4 and tekken 6.

Sorry for such a long post but I had to get my view out like so many have before me. I just feel a little betrayed by a series that I have followed for the past 16 years. It's kinda like super mario speaking in a german accent. I would say that I was done with the series, but who knows, they could come out with a true mk game in the future that completely blows me away with ya know, blood, fatalities, and killer gameplay.

If it was to be a comic crossover, they should have gone with Dark Horse and/or Image. No worries on blood and gore and fatalities then.

Where were the focus testers at? You'd think they could have made an official poll asking what universe fans would have liked to have seen mix with MK if it were ever going to happen. :-/

I'm willing to give the game a chance but if they neglect to put in characters that would fit well in a fighting game scenario like those two well... I'd be disappointed even moreso.

And IMO they are not only risking the fanbase by chancing this crossover and possibility of no fatalities and gore, but now they REALLY have to focus on new and exciting gameplay because if not, the gimmick will just kill off all their hardcore fans they even have left that stuck around for the gore aspects.

Good luck is all I can say...you have a ton of work and innovation required of you now MK Team. Especially with Street fighter 4 staring down your neck.

No trademark violence to carry sales this time if reports are true as on Kotaku.

I'm terribly disappointed after seeing the trailer. Not necessarily that it's MK vs DC, but because the game really looks no different from the last 3. It doesn't even look like it's running on a new engine. The graphics are passable but the animation is sub par and stiff.

Moreover, this just appears to be another desperate grab on Midway's part. Another last, desperate clutch at what they used to have. First, the mini games, then the whole "every MK character ever" gimmick and now MK vs DC.

I'm not knocking DC, I've always loved Batman and had respect for their other franchises. But crossing over is not going to distract anyone from the fact that it's a bad game.

Face it, MK's trademark style left when John Tobias left Midway. Can you make a Picasso painting without Picasso? I don't think so.

that is my opinion exactly. even though i think dc comics is extremely lame, i would still give the game a minor amount of interest if the graphics and gameplay were an evolution in the mk seriers. so far, it is not. the moving footage and screencaps from the trailer do not look like unreal 3 at all to me. they look like mka models with some bright blur effects and mildly more detailed.

but....some people are going to look at that trailer and see something awesome while others will look at that trailer and see an elephant taking a dump (see below).

this mk fan civil war is exactly like star wars fans. when phantom menace came out there were fans who detested what lucas did and those who will love stars no matter how bad lucas made the prequels.
