Looks great. Interesting to see how the finished product actually plays. I hope it's going to get some serious playtesting.

Alice.. no. In Nightmare 4... nothing that Alice did to Freddy hurt him (despite all the "power" she had). It wasn't until she remembered the stupid rhyme (thanks to a bunch of kids) and showed him his reflection that she won. Freddy had her beat, and without breaking a sweat.
But I think I agree with those who say that the good guys just aren't needed. It should be a brawler of only horror baddies. It works better that way.

Alice is really the only person who put up a long, good battle with Freddy. She kicked his ass, threw him around a bit, never got sliced, etc. Her fight with him was a learning experience, she tried several different things on him (karate, weapons, etc) and everytime something didn't work she tried something else. And the main thing is - even with him standing over her, about to kill her...she kept her calm, and remembered that poem. The poem didn't do anything. It was her "might" that killed him. She took over her dream and because SHE believed in the power of that mirror, it destroyed him. Alice is Freddy's biggest foe because she's the only one who can really control her dreams, and take advantage of the powers she receives in those dreams. That's why she's the Dream Master. Not to mention, in the comics that have been labeled as canon, Freddy is AFRAID of Alice and doesn't want her to come back to Springwood.

Nancy was awesome in NOES1, but she's 1) not a fighter, and 2) was a PUNK in NOES3. Sorry but she was written as a little bitch in that last scene where she got the claws. Nancy had a lot of potential but they threw that way. She was hot though.

Alice in NOES5, I agree, was a letdown. But I mostly pretend that disaster of a movie didn't happen. But Alice in NOES4 stood toe to toe with Freddy, and in my opinion deserves to be there alongside people like Ash from Evil Dead.

He was toying with her, seeing exactly what she could do. He was literally LAUGHING at everything she hit him with. And nothing except that mirror even made a dent. Now, Ok.. I'll give you the fact that Alice being able to use the mirror like that in her dream relied heavily on her belief in that it would work.. (same as Nancy turning her back to him and walking away in NMOES 1). Still doesn't change the fact that, for all her flashy moves and gymnastics, she was still ineffective against him. She was going to die, until she picked up that mirror. I wouldn't exactly call that going "toe to toe" with him. Freddy was treating it like a game. He was amused the whole time. (Also, let's not forget, Nancy didn't have any fancy "dream powers" when she handed his ass to him in NM1. Alice had a whole shitload, and they were pretty much useless.)

And you know... as far as NM 3 goes, I'll agree that they didn't portray Nancy quite as tough as she was in NM 1 ... but she was far from useless. If not for her, ALL of those kids would have died. She's the only one who knew squat about Freddy (He'd have gone through every one of those teens before the idiot doctors figured anything out). Freddy got her with a cheap shot by using Daddy's image. And even as she was dying she was STILL able to keep Freddy busy long enough for Gordon to finish his funeral which saved Kristen.

And, if the comics are canon, (which I didn't know) then my point is only proven further. Cause in the comics Nancy became the exact opposite of what Freddy is in Nightmares. And she defeated him there too. I don't have anything against the character of Alice... but Nancy is Freddy's Iconic Nemesis.

Wow, that's way too long. Erm, at the risk of this being totally derailed off topic... I'd say we continue it in PM (if you choose to that is).

As for the Thread: Wonder who else we'll see in the line up. They've got the big guns already. Be interesting to see who else (if anyone) makes the cut. I think Carrie would be cool.. they could do some badass stuff with her telekinetic power. Plus she's just creepy.

Yeah, Carrie could add a different dynamic to the gameplay!

i know it would seem a bit redundant since you've already got guys like Michael Myers and Leatherface in there, but where's Jason?? C'mon, he's definitely a horror icon.

They should have the monster that's attacking the plane in the Twilight Zone movie.

It's pretty good, I'm impressed by the quality of the work put in to it.

I'd change the command for dodging so it's only P+K. That way it doesn't interfere with charge moves.

I can't beat leather face, and I keep getting the throw glitch where the opponent just stays in the hold animation till the time runs out.

Jason is Definitely in this game. 100% guaranteed.
