what does my sig got to do with hbk...unless you think kiss is overrated.
who has more gold records then any other band in history? oh yea, kiss.
if you think so, horray for you.
anyway, ive never really liked hbk. like some people in wrestling, if you have seen one of hbk's matches, youve seen em all. he may be a "legend" in wwe, in the world of wrestling its self, i dont think so. then again, im just a fan, so what do i know, huh.
i just dont like his in ring style. you can always hear him talking during the match yelling spots out. lex luger used to be bad about that as well. one thing i can say about hbk, he isnt as overrated as mick foley. "harcore legend" lol. sabu = real harcore legend.

Everyone is entitled to their own opinion, but I truly believe that HBK has every right to call himself "The Showstopper". He's fucking earned that by putting on several incredible performances, and in case you want examples, watch his WM 21 match against Angle (some might even suggest the "Vengeance" rematch, but I preferred their first bout).
The best wrestler against the best sports-entertainer = match of the year.

LOL! Some people say the darndest things!
As for the HBK discussion, he is and always will be the showstopper, the icon, and one of the most entertaining men in the business today. Not overratted like Foley and Flair, sure they were good in their primes, I ain't arguing that, they are waayy past their primes, and should just not wrestle. HBK may also be past his prime, and I'm not saying he isn't, but he can still entertain as good as he did 10+ years ago!

WWE Women's Championship:

Who will win: Mickie James. Time for a change, definitely.
- Boogeyman vs. Booker T
Who will win: I'm going with Booker this time. Boogey is undefeated and I think that may be coming to an end soon. Besides, he needs some new life injected into him. Perhaps a lose will spark him to actual wrestle his matches or something. The guy isn't that bad, really.
World Tag Team Championship:
- Carlito & Chris Masters vs. Big Show & Kane
Who will win: Carlito & Masters will win. I have a feeling a Big Show vs. Kane fued could be on the horizon.
Playboy Pillow Fight:
- Torrie Wilson vs. Candice Michelle
Who will win: No one cares. Candice isn't a professional wrestler and Torrie isn't very good at it. No interest in watching more of the same whoring that's gone on for this entire decade. I'll guess Candice, simply for the sake of the contest.

Let's see who gets the most right.
Wrestlemania 22

lol, much like you, I don't have one.
But I've never tried for one, and here you are sucking B-Real's dick just to open up for another band nobody has ever heard of. What's the headline, 'Come see 2 bands you'll forget instantly!' 'White boy and white girl rap, seriously!' 'One of them claims to know B-Real!. You know, that group, Cypress Hill!! Oh wait, this isn't 1995 is it?' I'm not sure what part of me winning a rap contest on this site threatens you so much, it was like 2 years ago. I've never pursued music, never, so I really don't know why you keep bringing it up?

Hey, since this is Wrestlemania and it's only once per year, let's make a game of it. The winner (unless it's me) gets three dragon points. I'll be sure to quote everyone Sunday afternoon, so be sure your edits are done by then if you want to make any.

Malenko's style just never caught on with the fans; you can't blame the company. Those angles with Lita were an attempt to get him over with the crowd... and it just wasn't ever very affective. I have no doubt people respect Dean Malenko, it's just that he has sort of a lifeless character. Same goes for Lance Storm. Storm is one of my favourite wrestlers (as far as athletics go) but he became known for being boring. Wrestling is sports entertainment. I don't care if it's WWE, TNA or whatever, the large majority of people need the entertainment portion as well or they just aren't interested. This is what makes HBK one of the greats. His matches generally tell a very good story and have some high moments as far as ability goes as well.
As for RVD, I don't see how you can claim he's done nothing in WWE. Simply because he isn't World Champion doesn't mean they've misused him. I'm sure his time will come anyway.

I don't care if it's WWE, TNA or whatever, the large majority of people need the entertainment portion as well or they just aren't interested.
...In America. Bit of a different story in Japan, Mexico, Britian, etc, where in many of the top promotions everybody is wrestling a technical style without the need for terrible rape angles every three months. If you ask me, if people won't watch wrestling without that stuff then they shouldn't be watching wrestling. But as long as WWE is providing it I guess people will watch. Hopefully that changes though. ROH is just blowing up bigger and bigger every year, and they do almost exlcusively straight wrestling. It's what wrestling would be like today if Vince hadn't come along and turned it into a living, breathing cartoon. It's great to see a US promotion nowdays that's very classic in it's approach to everything wrestling related instead of what WWE is now. I think the rising popularity of such promotions is sort of like a "rebirth" and people are rediscovering what "wrestling" as a sport is instead of what "wrestling" is as a television show. It's becoming increasingly more common for people to get foreign stuff from tape traders and such too. But I digress...
I agree that Malenko is a legend, definitely. Not in WWE, and not as the current day "superstar," but as a true, no-nonsense wrestler. The number of guys HBK has inspired to become wrestlers in the first place is probably countless (A-lex Shell-ey! *clap, clap, clap, clap*), and for that reason alone HBK is a legend. But there probably aren't a lot of young guys coming up that are looking back through old HBK tapes for too much technique more than they would be Benoit, Jericho, etc. Dean Malenko on the other hand, is a wrestling encyclopedia to the point where you can study his tapes and his tapes alone to pick up almost everything you need to learn how to wrestle any style of match - and people do. I was speaking to somebody not long ago who did. He's a very competent pro-wrestler, and the only tapes he ever studied were of Dean Malenko with a tiny bit of Terry Funk and Ric Flair thrown in for crowd interaction, selling, and performance technique. So, Malenko won't be remembered as a legend by most WWE fans, but he'll be remembered by a lot of pro wrestlers and fans of real, pure pro wrestling who he did catch on with, and for that reason alone you're going to be hearing great, great wrestlers talk about him 10 years from now, and subsequently fans of those wrestlers researching and looking up to him too, so he'll really cement his legend that way.
Still, nobody has been a more successful light heavyweight in WWE than HBK (even though outside of WWE it's a different story), so HBK is a legend too. Just in a different way to Malenko.
Though in regards to "legends" and talent, what pisses me off the most wasn't WWE's treatment of Dean Malenko, but Ultimo Dragon. Not only is he the single best light heavyweight wrestler ever, he has a wacky gimmick that's fairly likeable no matter who you are. Crazy, zany, masked Japanese guy with a cape who uses interesting moves, sometimes spits green mist, cracks silly jokes, can outwrestle and beat the shit out of everybody if he feels like it, and has charisma in spades. He's pretty likeable no matter why you watch wrestling, really. He's a wrestling mastermind and a charisma vehicle with a ready-to-go gimmick that doesn't even need altering. He can wrestle any style perfectly and be as serious as Triple H or as much of a kiddy comedy act as The Boogeyman. How could they have possibly fucked that up? I'll never understand. It's not like he didn't have a personality to work with like Lance Storm, or that he's a terrible wrestler like Heidenreich. All they had to do was book him in matches to win and he'd have been a really solid draw without the need for stupid angles or even cutting promos. The worst part is that they didn't give him the title of "legend," or really half of the accolades he deserves, and he's far, far more deserving of the title of "legend" than 80 percent of the people WWE call "legends." Bob Orton? Who? Seriously, if it wasn't for Ultimo Dragon and Jushin Liger there would be no cruiserwight division in WWE, period. Yet... still no respect for him even though he's been a huge asset to the business and could have been a huge asset for WWE.
