Canada has been good to me. My Great-Great grandfather ran off to Canada when he accidentally killed his future wife's abusive husband (barfight, he punched the guy out and he fell and wanged his head on the bar). But, of course, an Irishman murdering a native New Yorker in the 1890s wasn't looked kindly upon...
So, I suppose I owe Canada my existence.

Kannapolis, North Carolina, birthplace of Dale Earnhardt, was founded by some of my relatives. When I was a child, on one of our trips to the States my parents bought some towels, and told me about the old Cannon Mills textile company. The company is no longer in family hands, takeover in 2005, iirc.

With you... Wait, that doesn't work in this context... Damn it!
My grandparents from both sides of the family came to Canada in the 50s and 60s. Eventually, some of their siblings came too, and they had two or three kids each. There are so few people of my blood line in North America that if somebody shares my last name, or the last name of any of my grandparents, they are related to me, guaranteed. I actually took a call from a guy in New York City a few months ago who shared my last name, and it was the most shocking thing for both of us because neither of us had met anybody else with our last name. Kind of cool.

If you dig deep enough, you can find stuff like this in almost any family tree. I'm really into genealogy just because I love history. We actually found out about that story because his birth records kept changing. We knew his name was Michel Forrestal and born in Ireland, but there was no record of him again until the 1920 U. S. census when he was saying his name as "Mike Forest" and that he was born in Canada.
But really, everyone can find stories like this. I've got one fellow who was kidnapped and burned at the stake by Cherokee Indians. A distant cousin who was a Confederate general and took a cannonball to the chest. Some Revolutionary War soldiers. A signer of the Second Charter of the Virginia Colony. A group of anti-Catholics which disappoints me, but at the same time I found one direct ancestor who was "In name of Lord Protector Cromwell stripped of land, rank, and title for abominable crime of practicing Catholicism." Or something along those lines, I don't have it in front of me. But anyway, if you have even just a shred you can really build it into something with the aide internet, these days. If your lucky, you'll have a some Latter Day Saints in your family; their faith requests that they keep detailed records of their ancestors ( I think it's got to do with that baptizing the dead thing) and are often more than willing to share.

I want to do this, how do I start? I know my great grandmother, still around, was born in Jamaica in the 1930's. And that my other great grandmother's family got her house from this white family they were Indentured servant too.

This is the first time I won't play a Smash Bros game. Due to the console it has to be played on...

I'm not sure you're following me correctly. It's for Wii U!
Rejoice!

That's the thing though, I'm not a fan of the Wii U at all. I'm not terribly enthused about using a tablet controller to play Smash Bros. I couldn't even play Brawl with that stupid Wiimote, had to use a GameCube controller.

That's pretty much what's stopping me from playing it (when it comes out) until the Wii U becomes Wii status and is price dropped like a motherfucker and is forgotten. 3DS seems to be the only rocking Nintendo console right now. In my opinion of course.
In other news, I had a dream I had sex with one of my female friends (had to be specific). My libido is too much. Need to stroke and RELEASE.

Why are there 2 Smash threads if there's a Smash Superthread? Not trying to close the drive by but I am curious.

Probably one for just the new smash bros and one for smash bros in general. Because we need 2 to talk about pretty much the same thing.
