To all women posting this on their Facebook statuses...
Nobody cares where you like to keep your purse.
Yes, that's what the status of every girl is about. This is worse than last year's color of their bra campaign for breast cancer because at least arguably that had a purpose, while this is just to fuck around and try to get noticed by the media like last year, only with less reasoning for it.

Not sure why a lot of you guys actually get so worked up about this. It's goddamn Facebook for crying out loud. I have breast cancer running in my mom's side of the family. I had a grandmother that died from this 10 years ago, a cousin who recently beat it last year and my mother had quite a health scare last year as well. I say this proudly because I want cancer to be gone... However long it takes, I want it gone.

Those who have this on their statuses are campaigning against breast cancer whether or not you all think it makes sense.

Just let the girls do what they want for breast cancer awareness... It's not like it's hurting anyone.

This is for breast cancer awareness again? With no indications whatsoever, nobody would know, at all. At least last year they talked about bras, but this year, shoulder bags? What do those have to do with breast cancer? Tell me. How does it get me to think about breast cancer?
And it's not hurting anyone? The time you spend getting people to question what your status is about, they could be donating to an organization to fight breast cancer.
Raising awareness is useless; finding a cure is more important. You want to fight breast cancer? Make a monetary donation to people doing actual research to stop the disease, because that's going to do a lot more than telling people where you keep your bag.

Like I said, you're making a bigger deal out of something that's suppose to show awareness about Breast cancer. That's all it is. It's just a game on Facebook to show people that it's breast cancer awareness month. That's all it's showing. Who the heck cares that it's talking about purses or whatnot, who cares. It's delivering the message isn't it? That this is breast cancer awareness month right? Yeah, so why make a big deal out of this? It's just showing that it's breast cancer awareness month and when people know it is, they'll be donating. They should be donating even when it's not the awareness month but still.

I still don't understand why people are getting so worked up over a mere status on Facebook... It's Facebook... Nuff' said.

It's because it's a status that is supposed to have a message behind it, a pretty important one; if nobody's getting the message, it's just useless and silly. You talk about how serious cancer is in your family, but are treating it like it's just a game.
You raise awareness by shouting, "Support Breast Cancer!" not by saying, "I like being on the floor!"

I have my cousins who fought and won against cancer shouting out that message on facebook and people, who are at least in their late fifties are understanding the message behind it. My mom has it as a status, heck even my 87 year old aunt has it.

We've all done several breast cancer walks in neighborhoods that have people showing awareness in ways that don't just say "support breast cancer" in fact majority of them were quite hilarious yet there was a message behind it.

Just becuase it doesn't specifically say "support breast cancer" doesn't mean it's not supporting it. So what if people don't get the message right away, if someone tells that person what it means, they'll understand it.

I'm not taking this as a game, that's an insult.

For starters, if you're the only one who's announcing the reasoning behind the status, that's great, but it does not help those who are friends with people who write just, "I like it on..." You at least write it's about Breast Cancer Awareness. And by the way...

Yeah I did say that because this message:
Remember last year when women started posting what color bra they were wearing as a status update? The purpose was to increase awareness of October Breast Cancer Awareness month. It was a tremendous success and we had men wondering for days what was with the colors and it made it to the news. This year's game has to do with your handbag/purse, where we put our handbag the moment we get home for example "I like it on the couch", "I like it on the kitchen counter", "I like it on the dresser" well u get the idea. Just put your answer as your status with nothing more than that and cut n paste this message and forward to all your FB female friends to their inbox. The bra game made it to the news. Let's see how powerful we women really are!!! REMEMBER - DO NOT PUT YOUR ANSWER AS A REPLY TO THIS MESSAGE- PUT IT IN YOUR STATUS!!! PASS THIS TO EVERYONE

Is what I meant with the "game" thing. I mistook something you wrote out of context.

I'd love to sit and argue some more, but I got class now and I have a chiropractor visit soon. Just let the girls do what they want on how they want to show breast cancer awareness. Just leave it at that.

... yea, it's stupid and nonsensical.

I'm not going to expand on my two cents. That's it.

For the record, I like to take care of business on a bed, like normal people.

God damn I can't play football or do any strenuous exercise for the next three weeks, I have some swelling around my knee ligaments. And I don't want to risk getting a very bad injury, if I kept on playing and got a bad knock, I might not be able to play football again. Your ligaments are so important right?

So I'm gonna wait two weeks, to see if the swelling goes down. If not I will consult a doctor.

I like seeing Jerrod get worked up over things. It's rare.

Icebaby, I understand where Jerrod's coming from. Talking about handbags has nothing to do with thinking about breast cancer.

Jerrod, I do think it's a good idea though. People have been shouting "support breast cancer!" for years. This is just a new approach. If someone gets curious enough, they'll continue to look into what this handbag thing is about. Instead of having "support breast cancer!" shouted in their face, they're looking into it themselves. Think how many times you've said "breast cancer" since you read all those Facebook updates. Far more than if you'd just read "support breast cancer!" You said it's just to get noticed by the media. Exactly.

Icebaby, the only reason I'm upset about these updates is that I feel left out. I don't wear a bra. I don't have a handbag. But I do care about breast cancer. Let me in the loop.

Your last statement made me laugh and reminded me of what my cousin did for his status... He's a guy, but he's on my mom's side of the family and of course cancer runs through it. He wrote it "I like it in the back seat." But he was referring to a coat rather than a murse... (Man purse) He was actually serious when he wrote that.

I guess you can refer it to a coat or something.

When you have my *ahem*... skill set, nowhere else is necessary. It is fun to mix it up though.

I also like it in my pool when the weather is right.
