This movie influenced the whole MK series. I just got done watching this movie and it was really ahead of its time. It is one of my favorite movies of all time. I encourage everybody to watch and even buy this movie!

I didn't see this damn thread...Haha! Now it looks like I stole the idea!! This movie is the crazy nice though. I didn't get to it until like '91 and I still loved it. The Three Storms were about the best part for me as you can see now..
Maybe a Shang Tsung parody is in order somewhere in the future...that is, if nobody requests' it first....

I will definitely be picking it up, I suppose I can let y'all know what I think.
I loved this movie as a kid but I have no idea why it's just now getting a comic series. Like....is it still relevant enough to warrant a comic book? Also because of this movie I can pick our anything James Hong (Lo Pan) voice-acts.
For example, Diablo 3 Covetous Shen I was all like "Holy shit...it's Lo Pan!"

Absolutely loved this movie when I was a kid. I saw the movie in a big bin of DVDs for like $4 new some years back and thought I'd struck gold lol.
I'll have to check out the other movie. I'm curious now...

I liked this movie, MK used many themes from it. But it also had a love theme, which MK is lacking.

- Dwayne Johnson in Talks to Star in 'Big Trouble in Little China' Remake
Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson, coming off his best-ever opening with disaster movie San Andreas, is in talks to star in Big Trouble in Little China, the remake of the 1980s action adventure movie being developed by Twentieth Century Fox, The Hollywood Reporter has confirmed.
Ashley Miller and Zack Stentz, scribes who made their names in the fanboy sphere with Thor and X-Men: First Class, are writing the new version.
Johnson will also produce the remake with his partners Dany Garcia and Hiram Garcia.
... I'd really rather we didn't.

His voice is pretty recognizable. I remember him from Andromeda, he was a grey colored alien scientist. Kormac's va was Lt. Reid on Enterprise. Love both their Diablo 3 characters n dialogue.
I wonder if Shang taking Sonya in the movie was a nod to Lo Pan, not just because she was captured in MKII, as Shang seemed into her.
