Yes, this is indeed the last MK Tournament you will be seeing on MKO, or anywhere (at least for a long time). This time around, I'm entering the so-called "minor" characters from Wikipedia (24 of them) to fight in this tournament. This gives us 85 fighters. Here's how this one works:
- The minor character tournament will be played first
- Top 3 characters from this bracket advance to the second stage, or regular tournament.
- Since I'm actually going to be ranking the fighters after wins and losses, each fighter is guaranteed a certain number of fights (not sure of the number for the minor characters)
- When the regular tournament starts, each fighter is guaranteed 6 fights.
- Same 24 hour voting rules apply to this tournament as all previous ones.
- Again, rankings will be calculated throughout.
- Well, the champion is the only fighter to go 6-0 in the regular tournament.
With that, I will reveal the first fight: Actually, no I won't, because bracketmaker.com is down right now. I will edit when the site comes back on.

Just so I'm not talking to myself here, here's a quick poll:
Out of the "minor" MK Characters, which 3 do you think will advance to the Tournament?
My picks:
Hornbuckle
Monster
Masked Guard
Make your picks from now until tournament time.

Lemmie ask'ya this 1st real quick...
Are you lumping Chameleon, Khameleon, & Meat with the regular characters or the minor characters? (I only ask because there seems some debate in the MK community as to where they fall, as I'm sure you know.)

There is no debate about Khameleon. As far as the other two go, I believe "minor characters" is used to refer to characters not playable in any of the fighting games.
Anyway... I'm confused... what are we voting for again?
I think Monster has the potential to do the best.
EDIT: I see
Tremor
Monster

As I have never left them out of any of my tournaments (unlike Tremor, Belokk, Skarlet, etc.) Meat and Chameleon are in with the regular characters. Besides, both Chameleon and Meat had nice runs in the second tournament (I believe Meat defeated Sindel, if I'm not mistaken)

Left-Side Preview:
First Round:
Tasia vs. No Face:
I think that all of the noobs will go on Wikipedia, read about No Face, and be like "ZOMG he wears explosives!" and vote for him.
Winner: No Face
Hinoka vs. Nimbus Terrafaux:
God, kickboxer who never really existed. I think we know who the winner wil be.
Winner: Hinoka
Jerrod vs. Orochi Hellbeast:
Hmm, never played Shaolin Monks, so I can't really predict who will win this fight. I'll just go with the known quantity here.
Winner: Jerrod
Zebron vs. Kumari:
Another god going against a big zebra-dude. Peope will vote for Zebron because of his hilarity, where others will pick Kumari because he happens to be another god character.
Winner: Kumari (OVERTIME)
Second Round:
Tremor vs. No Face:
Ninja vs. guy packing dynamite. We'll call this fight "noob heaven." I predict that the ninja will prevail, he's been in 3 tournaments and it wouldn't be fair to see him go down this early.
Winner: Tremor
Hinoka vs. Masked Guard:
Apparently the Masked Guard is a popular character from Shaolin Monks. He's got this cool weapon-thing, and you fight a lot of them apparently. I wonder if he'll win?
Winner: Masked Guard
Skarlet vs. Jerrod:
I don't think Skarlet will win tis fight simply because she isn't real at all. At least Jerrod existed at some point in the MK history.
Winner: Jerrod
Kumari vs. Jataaka:
It going to depend on people's tastes. Would they rather see the God of Water win? Or a sexy demon win?
Winner: Jataaka
Quarterfinals:
Tremor vs. Masked Guard:
Not sure why, but I'm feeling the Masked Guard in this fight. Tremor will only win if the "I Love Ninjas" brigade comes out in full force. Too bad it won't.
Winner: Masked Guard
Jerrod vs. Jataaka:
Good king, bad woman. Never in a game, but a big part of the storyline, vs. minor character that we'll never see again. Interesting choice we have on our hands, eh?
Winner: Jerrod
Qualifier:
Masked Guard vs. Jerrod:
This fight will decide the first qualifier for the tournament (the winner), where the loser will have to win the following fight in order to advance. Since the right side of the bracket is looking pretty stacked, the loser will basically receive a death-sentence in the next fight. Well, if Jerrod wins, at least the Masked Guard has a shot in the secondary qualifier (a.k.a. 64th place match)
Winner: Masked Guard
So, therefore my pick to advance from the left side of the bracket is the Masked Guard. The full preview will be finished when I completely reveal the right-side of the bracket.

Winner fights: Monster

Tasia vs. No Face:
Winner: No Face, since he's mildly original and Tasia is not.
Hinoka (God of Fire) vs. Nimbus Terrafaux:
Winner: Hinoka, God of Fire. My favourite of the elementals that isn't Fujin.
Jerrod vs. Orochi Hellbeast:
Winner: Jerrod, simply because I don't consider the Hellbeast a real character.
Zebron vs. Kumari:
Winner: Zebron, for the novelty factor.
Second Round:
Tremor vs. No Face:
Winner: Tremor, easily.
Hinoka vs. Masked Guard:
Winner: Hinoka, God of Fire for the win over a generic character
Skarlet vs. Jerrod:
Winner: Skarlet, due to her slight popularity and the fact Jerrod has been dead since forever.
Zebron vs. Jataaka:
Winner: Prince Zebron.
Quarterfinals:
Tremor vs. Hinoka:
Winner: Tremor, sadly. Hinoka is much better though.
Zebron vs. Skarlet:
Winner: Skarlet, in a close race.
Qualifier:
Tremor vs. Skarlet
Winner: Battle of ninjas in which Tremor will sadly continue winning. He's fodder, but he's almost a God compared to most of these characters.

LOL, Tremor just might win it. Who knows...
Anyway, here is the last of the 8 matchups (along with my preview for the right-side) for the preliminary round:
Oni Warlord vs. Gemini (Jax's correspondent in MKSF)
Winner fights Kia.
First Round:
Durac vs. Hornbuckle:
This should be a pretty even fight. Neither is important to the MK storyline, however Durac was in that stupid cartoon movie about MK1. Meh, I'll give it to the Liu Kang clone, he's cooler anyway.
Winner: Hornbuckle
King Gorbak vs. Ohona, God of Earth:
Ohona is a pretty badass looking character (look at the sketch of him on WIkipedia and just try to deny that) and I had never even heard of Gorbak until I went on Wikipedia to organize this thing. Ohona wins.
Winner: Ohona
Queen Mai vs. Takeda
I feel that the noobs will dictate this fight, because they'll be like "ZOMG he made the Shirai Ryu let's vote for him!!!111!!!"
Winner: Takeda
Oni Warlord vs. Gemini
We don't even know what Gemini looks like. Enough said.
Winner: Oni Warlord
Second Round:
Belokk vs. Hornbuckle
This will probably be the best fight of Round Two simply because Belokk had the best performance of the three minor characters in the last tournament (he picked up a draw against Kobra) and Hornbuckle is the trendy and sentimental pick here to win his way in. I like the green guy to win here as well (go to the Kombat Pavilion and view the Altered Destiny comic... Hornbuckle is hilarious in that one)
Winner: Hornbuckle
Ohona vs. Cloak
I actually have Cloak doing well in this segment of the tournament (he''s among my list of favorites in the minor category), however new fans might not pick him because they have no freaking clue who he is. Ohona advances.
Winner: Ohona
Monster vs. Takeda
Monster is semi-popular among fans of the MKD Konquest, and that's because he has Scorpion's movelist and a sorta-cool look. That shouild be enough to carry him into the quarterfinals.
Winner: Monster
Oni Warlord vs. Kia
Kerri Hoskins is hot. There is no denying that (at least back when those games were made) and the Oni Warlord is a minor boss in a minor game (so is Kia, but come on, it's Kerry Hoskins, remember?) LOL.
Winner: Kia
Third Round:
Hornbuckle vs. Ohona
Whoever reads Altered Destiny will probably vote for Hornbuckle (as will egotistic) so I like him to win and eliminate the Earth God from contention here, making sure that no god advances.
Winner: Hornbuckle
Monster vs. Kia
Monster was in a major game, Kia was not. Kia is sexy, Monster is not. Exposure beats beauty, I must declare.
Winner: Monster
Qualifier:
Hornbuckle vs. Monster
No matter who wins or loses, both will make the tournament, but this fight will determine who these two go up against in round one. I pick Hornbuckle to win here, and Monster will get another match against Sub-Zero in the first round of the main tournament.
Winner: Hornbuckle
64th Place:
Jerrod vs. Monster
I already picked Monster here. Be gone.
Winner: Monster
62nd Place:
Masked Guard vs. Hornbuckle
It shouldn't matter who wins this fight, both are going down in round one of the next part anyway, but I will give the fight to Hornbuckle, because he is cooler than a generic Masked Guard.
Winner: Hornbuckle
Tomorrow I will start the preview of the main tournament.

Time for the REAL preview:
LIN KUEI BRACKET:
(1) Sub-Zero (30-1)
(64) TBD (*Monster)
(32) Sindel (8-10)
(33) Kai (7-9)
(16) Nitara (13-7)
(49) Tanya (4-11)
(17) Kano (11-6-2)
(48) Sheeva (3-9-1)
Let's jump in.
First Round:
Sub-Zero (30-1) vs. *Monster- my pick
Past History: MKT4- Sub-Zero won 19-1
Like the above score says, Sub-Zero pwned Monster in the last tournament, and well, he should pwn this entire bracket as well. Sub-Zero is a cake pick to win this fight.
Winner: Sub-Zero
Sindel (8-10) vs. Kai (7-9)
First Ever Meeting
This is SUPPOSED to be the most even fight, but I don't think it will be. Sindel deserves better than to possibly fight Sub-Zero in the second round for the second straight tournament, but she did only go 3-5 in the last tournament. She's better than her seed by far, but then again I said that before the last tournament's playoffs, but nonetheless I think Sindel cruises.
Winner: Sindel
Nitara (13-7) vs. Tanya (4-11)
First Ever Meeting
Nitara came within a few votes of the Final Four in the last tournament, but didn't do enough to get a better draw in this tournament. Tanya went 2-6 in the previous tournament, while Nitara put up an impressive 9-2 mark. The vampiress will march on here.
Winner: Nitara
Kano (11-6-2) vs. Sheeva (3-9-1)
First Ever Meeting
Although he didn't lose at all until the Round of 16 of the last tournament, Kano looked pretty bad in his round robin fights when he tied Havik and Kabal. He once again gets put in the same bracket as Sub-Zero and he might not get far enough to fight him either. He'll win this fight, but not much more.
Winner: Kano
Second Round:
Sub-Zero vs. Sindel
This fight was supposed to happen in the last tournament, but Goro had other ideas and knocked off Sindel in the first round. Sub-Zero shouldn't hae any trouble winning this fight either, but it the score will be noticeably closer than the Monster fight.
Winner: Sub-Zero
Nitara vs. Kano
This fight will be tough to call. I'm going to go with Nitara because she's the upper seed (barely) and because she has had better performances against tougher competition than Kano has.
Winner: Nitara
Third Round:
Sub-Zero vs. Nitara
Does Nitara have a chance to win this fight? No, but she won't look horrible in the loss, and she'll still have a chance at cracking the Top 10 even with a loss here. Sub-Zero trucks on.
Winner: Sub-Zero

Next bracket up: CHAOSREALM BRACKET
(8) Smoke (20-7)
(57) Hsu Hao (2-12)
(25) Baraka (10-9)
(40) Li Mei (4-9-1)
(9) Noob Saibot (17-6)
(56) Kobra (2-12-1)
(24) Liu Kang (9-8)
(41) Jax (5-11)
First Round:
Smoke (20-7) vs. Hsu Hao (2-12)
First Ever Meeting
I'll admit, I was pulling for Smoke to win the last tournament because, at least it would have been another Lin Kuei member on top. At any rate, this bracket does him little favors in his next run at the title, but he should win this fight easily.
Winner: Smoke
Baraka (10-9) vs. Li Mei (4-9-1)
First Ever Meeting
As much as I hate Baraka (all of you should know that by now) I must say this fight is his to lose. I don't see Li Mei taking this fight unless the vote count is extremely low, and that just doesn't happen anymore (thankfully)
Winner: Baraka
Noob Saibot (17-6) vs. Kobra (2-12-1)
First Ever Meeting
Let's just say that if Nitara hadn't knocked off Noob in the Round of 16 last time, the rest of the tournament would have been a lot different. This time around, things set up well for Noob to make a run at the top. Kobra doesn't stand a chance.
Winner: Noob Saibot
Liu Kang (9-8) vs. Jax (5-11)
MKT4: Liu Kang won 13-2
Their first meeting was a blowout, and I don't expect this one to be any different. Everything should go as planned in the first round of this bracket.
Winner: Liu Kang
Second Round:
Smoke vs. Baraka
Let's just say that Smoke owns the first two rounds of these tournaments; he's never lost before round three. Baraka has been taking early exits as of late, and the way it's looking he's in for another one. Smoke should coast to another victory.
Winner: Smoke
Noob Saibot vs. Liu Kang
As much as people won't admit, most like Liu Kang. Liu Kang has fared pretty well in these tournaments, the most recent a 5-3 showing which ended in the big upset of the first round in overtime, to Frost. Noob was 9-0 before falling to Nitara in his bracket final. I like Noob in this fight, and we'll finally see the matchup that should have happened in the quarterfinals last time.
Winner: Noob Saibot
Third Round
Smoke vs. Noob Saibot
Whoever wins this fight, it should go overtime, and it will guarantee that another ninja makes the final four (Noob still has yet to do it) for the 5th straight time. Who am I picking to win? Well, neither has impressed me to the point where I can definitely pick one or the other, but something just tells me that Smoke will win.
Winner: Smoke
