On the subject of Mortal Kombat vs. DC Universe from a bad film perspective, which do you think is a more horrendous production: Mortal Kombat Annihilation or Batman and Robin?

Thats a tough one, because its kinda like having to choose between shit and crap, so my decision is at a stalemate, I can't decide which one is worse.confused

you have no idea how much it annoys me when someone asks a question about choosing between two options, and then someone says their own answer.

Batman and Robin was way worse

The problem here is, both of these movies suck really, really horrible and that only one will get the voite on being the crappiest movie ever made.

MKA will get the vote on the count that the directors who created this movie butchered the whole concept of wht MK stands for. You cannot make one character become a brother for another character when they're not related at all in the game.

You cannot make more Reptiles appear when stated in the game that there were only two left. (Including Kh/Chameleon)

Characters having pointless deaths. Come on, we all knew that Sheeva should have died in a better way other than being crushed by a fucking steel cage.

And of course, you cannot make a movie by trying to put every single character in the game. Otherwise, you'll get characters that serves no purpose in the movie. Like Ermac, Rain.

I could go on with this movie. I can also point out every single mistake/something that shouldn't have been in the movie errors in the entire moive. But if I had to list them all right now, I'd just bore you all to death.

I loved Batman & Robin. That was one of my favorite childhood movies.

MKA was really sloppy. It seemed like they were just throwing characters in there for the sake of it.

annihilation was pathetic.
in batman and robin and batman forever, joel schumacher wanted to emulate the '60s series, adding a touch of humor to the characters and foccusing more in the enemies than batman and robin , burtom instead foccused in the dark side of the character and ghotam city, batman and batman returns, wasnt bad at all, of course batman begins is the more inteligent, brillant and amazing batman movie ever made. inspired in Batman year one and Frank Miller's The return of the dark knight, the greatest batman history ever telled so far.

mortal kombat annihilation vs batman and robin....?
rayden brother of shao-khan...... vs bane being a mute fucking idiot? mmmmm............
ill choose Mortal kombat like the worse one, there isnt a way to save that piece of shit movie. no mather what.

Great topic!!

I'd have to say overall that B&R was the worse of the two. I say this because so much was expected from this film. The first Burton Batman was amazing, the second was bizarre yet good (it just wasn't a "Batman" film IMHO), and the third was campy but still had some decent moments. B&R had an all star cast and introduced some major villains: Mr. Freeze, Poison Ivy, and Bane and it was a clusterfuck x1000. I mean this failed in every way imaginable.

MK:A was just pure retarded nonsense. You can see that the writers just plain gave up as the movie progressed. Just a trainwreck, but not quite as offensive to the core as B&R was.

Ohh god SF the movie sucked worse then both of these films lol. Which is hard to do but yeah....

Batman and Robin would have been "alright" at least if it wasn't for the horrible cliches, puns and shitty script. It was done poorly. Seemed rushed

MKA movie, just sucked because the storyline was fucked up early/to mid way thru....and the script was horrible. MK one movie rocked all of these. I would like the same people who did the first one, bring back all the original actors and work with Midway literally.

I know Midway said they'll be involved whenever MK3 is made, despite who will direct it.

My views:

Let's weigh the major pros and cons:

The Bad
MKA
- Raiden and Brian Thompson (I refuse to identifiy him as Shao Kahn) are brothers, and Shinnok is their daddy.
- Raiden is a breakdancing fool who inexplicably gives up his immortality and turns into an A&F employee.
- Brian Thompson acts like he's the villain of a Mighty Morphin' Power Rangers episode, complete with hackneyed bad guy drivel and the irritating "Dr. Evil" laugh.
- Johnny Cage dies in the first five minutes.
- Jade is a bad guy, and she can also change her hair and make-up in an instant to show it.
- Nightwolf is a stoner, Cyrax is made of plastic, Baraka is a rabid monkey, and Rain sounds like Marvin Martian.
- Cyrax, Mileena, Jade, Ermac, and Sindel cannot fight AT ALL.
- The climax of the film consists a really bad "Clash of the Titans" reenactment.

BAR
- Mr. Freeze, the Governator himself, compulsively makes bad "ice" puns (Let's kick some ICE!), which are in turn marred by Ahnold's accent. (it has since improved).
- Mr. Freeze likes teaching his henchmen sing-along songs.
- Mr. Freeze would rather play a game of ice hockey with Batman and Robin, rather than just freezing them and smashing them to pieces.
- Poison Ivy looks like a Barbie Doll rejected concept: Cosmetics Disaster Barbie. She also likes to seduce men by dressing as a big, foofy, pink gorilla.
- Bane loses all his intelligence and becomes a mindless crony.
- Batman's suit's new features include nipples and buttocks (that should put an end to all the gay jokes), and ice skates...just in case he encounters a supervillain who like to fight while playing ice hockey...
- Batman always carries his handy "Batman Credit Card" with him.
- The chief of police in Gotham does not care at all about the villains who threaten the city. Just listen to him, he doesn't care.

The Good
MKA
- Kitana is hot
- Sonya is hot (even though she isn't the original actress)
- Jax's lines are priceless
- Hot mud-wrestling match beteen Sonya and Mileena

BAR
- Batgirl is hot (why didn't HER suit have nipples?)

Ooh close...I'd have to say Batman and Robin is the worse of the two.

MKA was given a 30 million budget, while BAR was given 125 million. In addition, BAR had an ensemble cast. Considering both are really bad, Batman and Robin is the bigger disappointment.

The only good thing from Mortal Kombat: Annihilation was when Cyrax came in and just started breaking glass and kicking ass.

I still love the movie though. But the campyness of Batman and Robin was way worse.

Batman and Robin was a horrible movie in almost every way imaginable.

That being said, it was approximately 10 billion times better than Mortal Kombat Annihilation.

Wow, MKvsKI nailed it for me. I agree with everything he said. Batman and Robin had a ton of big names (even if they were completely miscast) and a huge budget to work with. MKA had Robin Shou, Talisa Soto (who aren't even B list celebs) and a bunch of no names and a much smaller budget.

In those terms, Batman and Robin was the much bigger disappointment.

In terms of overall film quality without the actors/budget/expectations?

Hmm, Sonya vs Mileena in the mud versus nothing good in Batman and Robin.

Pathetically, that puts MKA over the top for me. I honestly can't think of a single good thing to say about Batman and Robin other than the fact that it ended.

Both had terrible scripts that butchered beloved characters, terrible plots, and were both pretty much unwatchable, but if I had to hate one more than the other, it's Batman and Robin.

I'd say Annihilation because I haven't seen Batman & Robin. But I can't imagine anything worse than MKA anyway, other than Soul Plane.

mka is in fact the worst movie i have ever seen,

when i watch the first one i get many ideas of what would of made a good 2nd movie, which should of also been based entirly on mk2 and nothing else

and why the hell is shao kahn a daddys boy
why did raiden cut his hair in the middle of the movie he turned himself into a nob
why the hell do all the characters come and go without story line
why the hell dident it start with baraka and his army of tarkatans (or poorly named nomads at the time) attack the village like in the main story
why the hell is everything up to lui kang to save the day and no one else to help
why the hell did they just skip kintaros whole existence and go straight to motaro
why do good guys alway win
why the hell is sonya not tied up in the arena
where the hell is baraka,3 tarkatan grunts do not count as baraka
where the hell is kung lao,i thought that would of been a blunt obvious for the 2nd movie
why the hell do the customes just look bad
why is sub zeros scar look like a line red paint
why the hell dident shao kahn ressurect shang tsung

i could go on forever but i wont,it feels like they wrote this movie the same time they made it,i remeber sein the preview to it at the cinema when i was little and i got so exited then when i saw it i felt as if all my exitment was morphed into dog shit and thrown in my face,

thinkin about makes me a bit sad cause i never ever got to see the movie i hoped for

thou when they do eventually do the revampin mk movie i am gonna get a copy of annihilation and burn it in celebration

i hated batman and robin aswell, it was also a big dissapointment especially after how much i like batman forever(i personaly wish val kilmar kept the role for a few movies)

I thought they actually cast Jax well in MKA. I was pissed Bridgette Wilson didn't return as Sonya. And that Johnny Cage died in the beginning.

I kinda liked believing that Sonya could actually throw a kick.
Y'know, not that standing around in the middle of the action with your arm extended isn't exciting and all...

Indeed; if MK3 ever DOES get made, and all the original actors from MKI return, I wouldn't mind seeing Lynn Williams reprise his role as Jax. And I also agree that Sandra Hess was a bit more believable as a fighter than Bridgette Wilson.
