Who are the most Iconic characters of MK? That is the question. Well to say the least, IMO I feel that the characters from MK1-MKT would end up in this catagory so here's my top 10/11.

Since these characters were already confirmed, 1 and 2 are sub-zero and scorpion.
3. Liu Kang- The MK champion for most of the series until he was killed in MKDA
4.Raiden-Liu Kang: "He's Raiden. God of Thunder and Lightining and protector of earth." Johnny Cage: "Well there's your logical explanation..."
5. Reptile- The first ever hidden character. eh?, com'on admit it.
6. Johnny Cage- Stands out because of his sense of humor.
7. Kitana- One of the first female ninja counterparts of Scorpion and Sub-Zero and the Princess of Edenia.
8.Kung Lao- I'm sorry but that blade around his infamous hat is so fuckin sick!
9. Sektor- If not Cyrax, one of the "ketchup and mustard" robots had to be included.
10. Shang Tsung- If not Quan Chi, one of the sorcerers had to be included, and on top of that he is the first boss in MK after all.
11. Shao Khan- IMO the best boss of all time because he talks shit while he bashes you with that hammer. " You will never win!", "That was pathetic!", or how bout this one- "It's official, YOU SUCK!" so much personality.


As for the DC Icons, I can't really call it because I don't read comics and I don't know of that many, but based on the movies and cartoons, Here's a few:

1. Batman
2. Superman (these two are obvious)
3. The flash
4. The Green Lantern
5. Wonder Woman
6. The Green Arrow
7. The Joker
8. Doomsday
9. Poison Ivy
10. Mr. Freeze
11. Darkseid- since he's been mentioned alot on this website.

I'm beginning to think this 'iconic' characters thing is just BS on Boon's part. The characters who make the cut, in my opinion, will be based on whether or not they have a 'counterpart' in the other universe, and nothing more.

I don't think the counterparts thing will be a factor at all.

In terms of personality and essence, Sub-Zero and Batman actually match up well. As well as anyone can be, anyway.

Are Scorpion and Superman being considered counterparts? They're the only other two confirmed characters, but I've never seen them placed against/with each other.


But regardless, I doubt characters will be chosen soley on their being counterparts.

13. Shao Kahn/ Darkseid (the Ruling forces of their respective realms. Pure evil.)

There is a new character. I have inside news for MKA While they were making MKA, they also released other chracters that were not included and bugged.
They Are trying to get these chars up and running the problem is they are so graphical most consoles will not support.

I just want to figure out if by iconic Boon means the most well reconized characters or the most popular characters. If he means most well reconized then only the fighters from mk1-3 should be in this game because all of those characters had the most toy,cartoon, and movie appearances.

i think they mean iconic characters by what they do like baraka he was in mortal kombat 2 but hes not that special because all he does is try to win favour of shao kahn.

to genaralkahn i reckon your list is pretty good especially the aquaman is rain part since hes like the only guy who has a water type ability but the green lantern should be johnny cage i reckon so what do you think

Part of this is my personal preference but....

1. Sub-Zero (yea these 2 were hard)
2. Scorpion
3. Reptile
4. Kitana
5. Mileena
6. Noob Saibot (prob a bit of bias on Midway's part)
7. Raiden (probably 3rd most recognized character besides Sub and Scorp)
8. Kung Lao (I think he's more iconic/popular than most think he gets overlooked a bit)
9. Baraka (same for Kung Lao)
10. Kenshi
11. Liu Kang (IF they have 11 MK chars instead of 10, but I'd like to see Kenshi make it in over Liu personally)

You gotta remember that some of the characters that are iconic now may have been influenced by DA and Deception's marketing and Midway's personal favorites. That's why I think characters like Bo' Rai Cho might could even make the list (because Midway seems to favor him), but I hope not. Kabal could be another unlikely character to make the list.
