Half of you make it sound like it's fantastic and you just have absolutely no design sense or reference for the contemporary Catwoman -- and the other half of you make it sound like a god awful movie/nineties purple hybrid... with the Darwyn Cooke goggles.
I do not know what to think!

It certainly can't matter that much whether she's black or white, right?
The picture that was shown does kinda make her look like a tanned white woman(the way comics do alot of the time), or a very fair skinned black lady(like the lovely Halle Berry).
Either way, it doesn't look like Michelle Pfeiffer. Click the pic
Michelle Pfeiffer had the best interpretation of Catwoman to date. I don't remember Catwoman before she played her, and she certainly over-shadows the Halle Berry interp(I've said it before in here, I love Halle, but that movie was terrible. lol). As cool as it would be to see Halle Berry in this game, I wouldn't appreciate it.
So, there's two focus options: Pfeiffer(most iconic movie version of this character), or the Comic version(icon from the comics...justifiably the best choice for this game). And as some have mentioned, THAT's what it seems like they're doing with the other DC characters.
So, that seems even more likely to be the case, as well as the costume choice. Even though, yea, I think she does look a little tan in that image. Could just be lighting though. The background she's on is that rooftop arena concept we got a little bit ago. So yea, dark surroundings, and lighting could make a white person who is not as pale-skinned as Pfeiffer, look tanned, or light skinned.
I now think it's the comic version of her with the goggles. Just makes sense for them to do that.
=======
You know, I'd be more concerned with whether they make the women in this game have "uber-jiggly" boobs. lol.

Agreed. Michelle rocked a Hot Leather outfit. While Halle is just well, Halle sexy berry. And anything she wears could melt me. *Ahem* Comic wise pervs.

Okay. I like Burton's/Pfeiffer's movie-Catwoman nice enough, but I'm more than happy to leave that in the fifteen year old ink-blot of movie!
It's nice, but a stitched up leather cat-suit is fine for fanboy fantasys, but not so much for contemporary design. There's a very admirable balance of practicality and character emphasised in newer designs, and that couldn't be more true of Catwoman!
By mysterious dark magical means I've seen the tiny little mugshot.
Thank goodness there's no reason to be talking about the nineties (comic) purple suit! Though a little on the bulbous side, and with the collar open, it looks to be taking it's cues from the Cooke suit. Highlights on the black leather might have a bit of colour to them, and if that's where people are (happily) getting purple from, then it's exactly the kind of compromise I can deal with. Not my preference, but not offensive!
Contrary to Burtons reimagining of the character, she's sexy without being the kind of batshit crazy tot you'll pick up in a bar only to find she's tied you to the bed in your sleep, shaved your testicles, and made off with the Madonna records you can't report stolen, because that would mean admitting you own them.
Catwoman's a sassy, confident, and empowered character.
Her current look balances utilitarian function with a sense of style, and character. It reflects her sexuality and confidence in it's slick figure-hugging black leather, whilst offering ample maneuverability, and goggles and cowl that have various functions, the least of which, protecting her eyes and head.
It draws on the sassy retro-contemporary style that revived Catwoman from languishing sales when Darwyn Cooke (and Ed Brubaker and Cameron Stewart) took hold of the title.
The mugshot doesn't give much away.
It'd be nice if the cowl could be scaled down a bit, and the collar could come optionally zipped (or unzipped). The goggles could use a bit of tweaking (and lighter lenses?), but all in all, not bad! For a more familiar touch, she might like to throw some lipstick on, because nothing razzes Batman more than a kiss on the cheek!
She should probably look a bit more Angelina than Halle. More classically attractive than skunned-ferret, but the mugshot doesn't give much away, in that respect. So, here's hoping!
Oh, and don't disagree, because, like, it's just an opinion, you guys!

Catwoman is NOT a villain. As a matter of fact, Catwoman is not a single woman. That means she can be ANY race because every generation a woman is given the power of catwoman. Overall, Selena Kyle/Patience Phillips is an anti-hero. But Catwoman is never a VILLAIN.

Anti-heroine you gender confused Berry-lover, you....
anyways, aside being a top notch athlete and a master burglar she has no powers. She has one criminal record though and she shot Black mask POINT BLANK in the head killing him with a gun in before One Year Later.
As for those responsible for the recent Catwoman movie...kill them with fire.

Somewhere I read that DC was not pleased with the costumes of DC characters and told MK team to redesign them so to be more classical and authentic. So I think that's why all DC characters have their old comic costumes and not the cool modern movie costumes that we saw at the movies.
I have read it from a user that he has given us information about MK vs DC before the announcement of the game.

We shouldn't be making any assumptions about that. Plus boon revealed in an interview that they wanted the characters to look more like their comic counterparts rather than from the movies.

That's only in the Catwoman movie, which is not considered DC Canon, i.e. it isn't part of the DC Universe, it is more of a spin off. Pretty much every DC movie has no effect on the comics they are based on. Just because it is stated in the movie, does not make it fact.
It's sad that the Catwoman movie sucked so hard because it had a lot of potential. As beautiful as Halle Berry is, I don't think she suited the role at all, and most of the action shots were CGI.
There has been a villain Catwoman in the past, in fact originally I think the character started out as a villain, who soon became an anti-hero.

Just to clarify: Catwoman has always been close to the line, and for a good while now, has fallen into the hero category pretty conclusively.
Which probably makes the travesty of the Halle Berry movie all the worse, because even though Hollywood is typically reluctant to centre a movie around a villain, Catwoman required very little change.
Catwoman full image
Not bad, but the finished product probably magnifies the little complaints.
Not crazy about the purple which is very evident; cowl still looks a little too round; if desire for colour motivated the purple, the 'traditional' yellow lenses would've been nice; could use some stronger lipstick still, too.
Probably the best foot forward so far, though.
Hopefully she zips up to fight. :ermac:

LOL, I think someone really likes Catwoman.
I enjoyed reading your post, though I must say the Michelle’s P. look gives her such a dark and mysterious aura that the new one doesn’t really have. Still, I think the render looks excellent.

Absolutely! Over the past five years, especially in the early goings, some issues of Catwoman have been among the very best of any character-driven superhero comic.
There's a lot to like about Catwoman when it's done right, and it's never been more right than those Cooke and Brubaker issues!
Good to see the MK design at least in the ballpark! Very interested to see how Catwoman will play!
