After some combos I did vs Jax (who is really easy to combo) with Kung Lao...I'd have to agree with you that Kung Lao is better than Jax, but when are you going to be able to do them against him when he just about never has to jump at you? So that still has Jax better than Kung Lao.

Still, Jax > than almost everyone else.

In my opinion, I think Kitana is def one of the best. She is the only person i can beat the game with on very hard.

Unfortunately we're really only talking about playing 1 on 1, but yes, it's pretty easy to beat MK2 with Kitana.

no way that Baraka is the worse fighter in MK2, sorry to dissapoint you, he is one of the best defensive fighter in the game

On the grand scale Baraka is considered low middle tier. I think he is one of those characters who has the ability to be dominant however he has to be used way more efficiently than say Mileena or Jax. That's where the tier concept comes into play, Baraka might be good in a really skilled player's hands, but the effort needed to beat even a sloppy Mileena might be too great a task.

Kitana is strong in Mk2, top tier. No4, but stronger then Mileena or Jax???? I dont think so.

The most inaccurate tier listing I've ever seen, it was like they random selected until each character was picked once and just wrote down the order.

yeah kit is better then jax or mileena,she doesnot struggle vs them if 2 good players r playing kitana should win...liu kang destroys jax in a fight not vs mileena but vs jax yeah....the problem w/ kitana is that she struggles vs ninjas....all 3 including reptile....goshin.. ill fight u w/ mileena u wont win no matter how hard u try.....vs shang tsung of course...

But not everyone knows what they are talking about. You have, and I guarantee this, never played anyone in MK2 who was worth a damn if you think ANYONE but Mileena Jax and Liu Kang are top tier. TOP TIER. Not potentially good through extreme precision and skill. TOP TIER. If you have played high level players and beaten the top tier characters with Reptile or something low tier, that's awesome, you are an amazing player, but that's a unique situation. I'm not going by what everyone else is saying, I have been witness to RECENT (within the past couple years) MK2 tournaments and Mileena still reigns supreme. It would take an amazing player using low tier to defeat even a mediocre Mileena. I myself play Capcom games all the time and refuse to use the top tier in the games and I can beat the top tier users 99% of the time, but that's a rare case and I still know who is and why they are top tier. Application and experience in the field VS just playing your friends.

The Definition of Top Tier/broken:

Characters in a game so powerful they can be used with the least amount of effort at the highest level of effectiveness, rendering the remainder of the characters difficult to play with in the highest level of gameplay against said top tier characters.

Your example of everyone being even contradicts everything that is known about these games. There are very few games where everyone is even, one I can think of is Marvel Super Heroes, but even that game has a select top tier, but it the closest to being even as any game that has ever been made by Capcom.

Reptile VS Mileena is like Gief VS Strider in MvC. An absolutely amazing Gief player MIGHT be able to beat a decent Strider. You have to understand the fundamental mechanics of games in general to see what people mean they talk about tier listings, I don't think you do, or, you are so amazingly good that tiers don't apply to you (again a unique and rare variable in the equation of competitive gaming).
