God this is lame.

I see people who put their fave characters high when they are low.

Face it, scorpion (my fave), sub-zero and reptile suck! They are the worst in those games.

Mileena, jax and liu kang are top tier!

Baraka and Raiden are far inferior to Sub-Zero and Scorpion. Neither has stun moves. Baraka has serious lag time on his shredder, and his spark fire has terrible range.

Raiden's Torpedo move is difficult to pull off in actual battle for 90% of the people who play (I can do it and I'm sure most of you can, but I know people who can't.) His lightning is an all right projectile. His teleport is easy to uppercut. His bear hug is impossible to actually do to someone, unless they let you.

Scorpion and Sub-Zero are not top tier characters. However, neither is bottom tier. Both or low mid-tier. The bottom tier consists of Baraka, Raiden and Reptile.

Jax: sweeps, backbreaker,
or
HK, ground pound.

2. It goes the length of the screen...that's range enough, lol. The only thing that sucks about Baraka's projectile is he is easily swept while he is doing it and sub can freeze him while the spark goes right over his head. It's a very fast and damaging projectile.

3. If someone can't do raiden's superman...they don't deserve even a mention in this thread.

4. Not if you use it right. If you just teleport around for the hell of it you are going to get killed.

5. I get this move so much, even on my really good friends. You just have to anticipate...the move is hardly useless. It leads to a nice 40% damage combo and a bigger one vs Jax, like 60% I think. Well worth the risk of charging HP.

6. No...they are 11th and 10th, respectively.

Listen to Konqrr, he is the man when it comes to MK2 around here.

This thread is regarding VS games right?

I'd have to put Jax at being the No. 1 fighter in that case.

I won a Brisbane MK2 tournament using him. He was just unbeatable!

My top 4 are:

1. Jax - Ground Slam and fireball attack are unreal!
2. Mileena - Sai, ground roll and sweep
3. Liu Kang - Fireballs are a definate advantage with him, flying kick is so fast
4. Reptile - use invisibility well enough and he's great to use.


I rank the ninja's mid tier rather than low. They have a kick-arse roundhouse kick in MK2 and can be used very well...

I don't care what magazines yall read, these are my rankings, and if you don't agree, see me and I'll prove it to yall.

I agree with this top choice though. Used well, Shang Tsung is unbeatable.

I'd like to see how Shang Tsung handles spamming Mileena Sai shots at nearly 2 shots a second lol.

LoL yeah, and even Shang is firing his skulls Millena can roll under or Telekick it...

I know that Shang has an outstanding jumpkick, highkick and footsweeper but thats not enough.

And by the way the ninjas roundhouse can even counter shangs jumpkick but it must be timed very well.

i always found it easiest to finish the game with baraka and kitana because of their it was hard to go far with subzero and scorpion because the freeze and deathrope always seemed to be ducked but both of them especially sub zero was good for beating the kintaro and kahn

every ones top tier mileena can get killed by kitana kung lao and scorpion....every ones weak character reptile is good vs kitana, liu, and jax every 1 says this character is weak this 1 is strong...but i play the game every day vs good and bad people online w/ mame...my experience is that every charcter in mk 2 is strong and weak vs some characters another example is mileena vs shang and reptile those 2 stand no chance of killing her at all....but those who claim she is the best is wrong both kick moves leave her open for big combos vs the 3 that i mentioned up above .. bacically what im trying to say is that the game is pretty even every 1 has a character they are strong vs and a charcter they r weak vs....thats a fact... but if u wanna go w/ what the creators said they said kitana and liu kang r the best...

If your moves are getting blocked, leaving you open for punishment combos constantly, something is wrong with the way you are playing. Mileena IS top tier in MK2. It has been proven through years of gaming.

read my post it says every 1 has there streths and weaknesses...even mileena...i didnt say she wasnt top tier...i just said that the game is very even when top tier PLAYERS are playing.. u can beat any joe schmo w/ mileena but when u use her vs some one good its not going to be that easy.....thats a fact.....if u use mame PM me ill prove it.....

If everyone's top tier Mileena can be killed by Kitana and Kung Lao, then that makes Mileena not top tier doesn't it? "but those who claim she is the best is wrong" that right there means she isn't top tier. That's all we're saying. (Those of us who understand what the Hell tiers are)

Read your own post, maybe your wording is off because everything you say leads me to believe you don't think Mileena is top tier.

im saying there r no top tier or low tier..EVERY 1 IN THE GAME IS EVEN!!! every 1 thinks mileena is good cuse they cant couter attack her sais any character who can teleport can stop her from doing that...same with jax when he ground slam he leaves him self open for attack.....its all about timing some people have it some dont....

Everything you just said is entirely false and/or circumstantial. The bottom line is tiers do exist in every game, they matter less in some games, but no matter what, they are there, and the tiers dictate tournament outcomes 99.9% of the time.

Dan has some very valid points, but just as Scorpion, Kung Lao, Raiden and others can bait Mileena into doing one of her risky specials, she can do the same thing and capitalize on it. That mixup in itself makes her top tier.

Blocked Scorpion teleport = HP, HP, Jump Kick, Sai combo...that's 45% damage, and really easy to do.

She is the best...in the right hands of course. And teleporters have nothing on her when her back is to the corner. And she has some wicked combos from that position, easily over 50% each time.
