Cassie Cage Cosplays Harley Quinn in New MK11 Skin
A touch of madness in Mortal Kombat 11!

Players who've purchased the Mortal Kombat 11 Kombat Pack can look forward to Cassie Cage falling in with the wrong crowd with a DC Comics inspired skin! See the full official render here:

"Cassie Quinn" pays homage to DC's Gotham City siren Harley Quinn, who's become a staple of the NetherRealm Studios developed fighting series: Injustice.

Harley made playable appearances in Injustice: Gods Among Us and Injustice 2, as well as featuring in related tie-in merchandise, such as Injustice comic books and action figures. She's also been in the news appearing in trailers for the 2020 theatrical release of Birds of Prey (and the Fantabulous Emancipation of One Harley Quinn), starring Margot Robbie.

We've seen Cassie Cage go punk for Mortal Kombat Mobile, and just like Harley Quinn, she's all about kicking ass and chewing bubble gum. Does the red and black harlequinn homage therefore make plenty of make sense? You be the judge in the comments below and when the new skin becomes available October 8th!

Cassie Quinn will also join guest fighter The Terminator in the new update, along with other skins and updates. Watch the T-800 Terminator trailer and join the discussion on the Mortal Kombat 11 forum for more!

T-800 Terminator Enters Mortal Kombat 11 in Trailer
Terminator T-800 targets Jax, Kano and Scorpion!

Some action heroes are getting too old for this, but the Terminator T-800 is still carrying out his programming with supreme eficiency and maximum prejudice! Watch the killing machine of the future take on Jax and Kano in the latest Mortal Kombat 11 trailer!

A box of Johnny Cage action figures hides a nasty surprise as the aged Arnold Schwarzenegger enters the fight. It's one of several callbacks to iconic scenes from the long running Terminator film franchise, which began in 1984.

The actor's likeness is taken directly from the upcoming Terminator: Dark Fate sequel in theatres November 1st. Earlier reports that a soundalike would need to be used appear to be accurate, with line readings robotic, but slightly unconvincing.

The T-800's organic outer layer may appear matured, but his fighting moves show no signs of rust! The Terminator is notably spry, closing distance quickly to unleash hard hitting moves and grappling, with an arsenal of shotgun and automatic pistol fire to inflict significant damage at range! When Scorpion bathes him in hellfire, or he takes a Fatal Blow, his metal endoskeleton is exposed to all.

Terminator has been a long time coming as one of several guest characters discussed for Mortal Kombat X! He was pipped by the likes of horror icon Jason Voorhees, but comparisons to the plodding slasher will be surprisingly difficult to draw. The only thing they share in common in Mortal Kombat is that they won't stop. Ever!

The Terminator arrives as the first guest fighter from the downloadable The Kombat Pack with early access starting October 8th. How does he stack up on Judgment Day? Jump into the comments below to share your thoughts and join the resistance on the Mortal Kombat 11 forum!

Mortal Kombat Movie Set References MK11 Fighters
Sindel & Cetrion referenced in set design.

Almost nothing is known about the plot of the 2021 Mortal Kombat movie, but the first behind-the-scenes footage from day one filming has revealed a couple of very specific nods to Mortal Kombat 11 fighters: Sindel and Cetrion!

With some careful dressing, Port Adelaide's disused wool stores are set to double for the streets of Chicago. Local news footage offered a brief glimpse of the set, where eagle-eyed fans will have noticed beverage advertising for Sindel Lemon Lime and Cetrion Kola. You can see a still shot captured below:

Screenplay writer Greg Russo has told fans on social media there are more characters to be revealed, but these sly background references may be an indication Sindel and Cetrion will sit this first installment out.

Elaborating on the challenging demands of writing an ensemble picture like Mortal Kombat, Russo explained: "[I] won't overstuff this movie with characters. I'd rather hold on a character than do them disservice by jamming them in... that being said, there are more characters in this film that have yet to be announced..." He compared the project to Marvel's Avengers, noting Mortal Kombat won't have the luxury of building up to a universe of pre-established characters. Producer James Wan commented on the careful balance of budget and creative direction late last year.

Johnny Cage and Kitana are among the few leading characters from the early games still to be cast, with Max Huang recently revealed to be Kung Lao. The role of actor Lewis Tan is yet to be revealed.

Mortal Kombat is directed by Simon McQuoid, to be released theatrically March 2021. The movie is projected to contain R-rated violence and game-accurate fatalities. Get a closer look at the redesigned dragon logo from the movie.

Sindel will be available for download in Mortal Kombat 11 starting November 26th. Get a first look in the Kombat Pack trailer. What do you think about hidden in-world references like these? Closer Look at New Mortal Kombat Movie Logo
A redesigned dragon logo can be seen on set.

The trademarked dragon logo has served as a harbinger of all things Mortal Kombat for over a quarter of a century. With the next feature film now in production, we have our clearest view of a newly designed logo glimpsed on the clapboard during Day 1 of filming! Take a look:

Actor Lewis Tan shared the photo to Instagram, dramatically staging the clapboard opposite what appears to be a blood spattered floor. Filming began Monday local time, with Port Adelaide doubling for the streets of Chicago.

A newly designed, red dragon logo can be seen in the centre of the board, wrapped in the Mortal Kombat text. It adapts the traditional circle border of the symbol into the tail of a more S-shaped dragon body. To accomodate the curving design, the dragon has been given a more slender figure.

This isn't the first time the iconic Mortal Kombat dragon logo has been changed. The symbol underwent an official redesign in 2014 for the release of Mortal Kombat X, slightly tweaking its dimension and features. The logo was given embossed three-dimensional details when Mortal Kombat went to the big screen in 1995. A more jagged, impressionistic version appeared in the second series of the live-action webseries Mortal Kombat: Legacy.

Renowned digital concept artist Nikolai "BossLogic" Baslajik has recreated his own version of the film's new logo, creating a mock movie poster he shared to Twitter [below]. He previously shared his vision of the cast as their respective characters.
