MKX Comics: Hey! That Special Forces Agent Kinda Looks Like...!
Did Artist Dexter Soy Sneak a WWE Wrestler into the MKX Comics?

Early last year, Mortal Kombat Online had fun comparing Triple H's Wrestlemania XXX entrance with legendary Outworld Emperor Shao Kahn. It looks like Chapter 4 of DC Comics' new series has turned the tables, showing us a Special Forces line-up with Sonya Blade and a large redheaded fellow who looks awfully familiar!

Malibu Comics fans might be a little disappointed if they're looking for Lieutenant Lance among the MKSF, but that large fellow at the back does bear a striking resemblance to former WWE Champion: Sheamus!

When asked about the resemblance via Twitter, he agreed, "Only missing me @leinsterrugby shirt".

"The Celtic Warrior" lives up to his ring moniker as one of the exaggerated cast appearing in NetherRealm Studios' hugely successful app: WWE Immortals! Before you get too excited about crossover prospects, Creative Director Ed Boon shut down a question about the subject with a pretty definitive: "No." Hats off to artist Dexter Soy, all the same.

MKX: Clueless Gamer Big Game Showdown - Thursday on Conan
Mortal Kombat X to feature on Conan's Clueless Gamer Big Game Showdown

For many months, fans have pondered who will fight in the ultimate battle between good and evil. Some struggles go beyond the mortal precepts of morality - such is the nature of the Clueless Gamer Big Game Showdown!

Marshawn "Beast Mode" Lynch and Rob "Gronk" Gronkowski will enter the Clueless Gamer arena during the Conan of Thursday, January 29th. Their choice of arms will be the fighters of Mortal Kombat X! Overseeing the 2-man tournament will be show host and ancient sorcerer maintaining his youth with the consumption of unsuspecting souls, Conan O'Brien.

There may be blood. There may be tears. If the 2013 appearance by Injustice: Gods Among Us was any indication -- there may even be an unexpected character or two. Above all else, there will be male bonding achieved through the mutual understanding of the frailty of human existence. Mostly there'll be blood, though.

Reptile Battles Kung Lao in IGN First Reveal Trailer
Reptile Returns in IGN Character Reveal!

As promised, IGN have delivered the next big character reveal for Mortal Kombat X. Series stalwart Ed Boon clued fans to look to la luna. Somebody must've done an uppercut fatality - because it's Reptile!

The original secret character is back in force, looking just a little more rugged than his last appearance in Mortal Kombat (2011). Likewise, many of the old favourite moves are back, with some interesting new embellishments like a tongue held tree of woe!

No new information about the circumstances of either character, or the world around them, but it does seem as if Kung Lao has developed a sense of humor during his time among the dead. Assuming that is where he's been since having his head adjusted.

Earlier this month, an Australian retail chain included Reptile in promo banners for the game [full story]. If the trend continues when NetherRealm Studios reveal the next character via livestream later this week, we might expect Shang Tsung or Mileena via Gamestop [full story].
