It looks incredible and fun if what we saw is to be adapted in gameplay. That cuckold music can go away whenever it wants to, though.
Finally saw the trailer and meh... Just didn't do it for me...
I didn't like the animation, they way they moved just seemed odd, the music (yes, the music) was a total miss for me. And the most disappointing thing were (predictably) Scorpion and Sub-Zero. I was really hyped to see some MK4-MKA characters that missed out MK2011, but nope...
Oh well, at least Subby is human, though I have a feeling this could be Bi Han and not Kuai Liang... The fatality was nice.
Praying they do much better with the design of female characters this time. Aside from Sindel's primary costume, most of the other (non-classic) ones pretty much sucked big time in MK2011.
Now, gimme me some Fujin in HD glory!

I soon as a heard rapping I knew people would complain. For me It wasn't totally out of place and seemed to fit well enough with the ambience of the trailer so I didn't mind.
With that out of the way, this sure does look promising! A little boring they chose Scorpion and Sub-Zero for the trailer. I get that they are iconic and a part of the MK brand, but it's not like other characters can't get the job done either. Look at Deception.
Anyway I can't wait to see more!

Loved it, if they use some of those background effects in the actual game I would love it, as long as it was done right. Maybe it was just a showcase like the MK:DA trailers, maybe it will make it there...E3 HURRY THE HELL UP. I think they could pull those graphics off personally, reminds me of the quality seen in Arkham Knight. Seeing both Sub-Zero and Scorpion in this trailer alleviated a lot of fear, and the concept of having multiple versions of a character at you disposable is awesome, here hoping you can unlock Cyber Sub-Zero. Might not like him as much as Standard Sub-Zero, but he is still bad ass. Why do I get the feeling the storyline is not quite going in the direction I thought?

I think the rap music is for promo purposes. I doubt we will hear rap music when playing the actual game. The fighting looks too predetermined to be representative of in-game. I think this was basically something that gives us a glimpse of the tone they are going for. Scorpion and Sub Zero look gritty, which is a plus.
Maybe E3 will have something in-game or at least we will learn more about what the teaser represents.

Trailer looks good, 2015 here we come!
Love the new gritty direction of this trailer. Hated the music but I know it's there for marketing purposes.
I'm pretty happy it's cross-gen. I'm not gonna buy a next gen console until there's a significant price drop.
Anyway, looking forward to actual game play and of course; more character reveals. Subzero and Scorpion are pretty much a given anyway. Typical Boon mind games.

Nice presentation.
The creators say it's all CG, but I think they're just under embargo.
https://twitter.com/DgitalDimension/status/473476927958024192
The character models look so in-game it's insane.
At times you can clearly see it's CG, but then at times it doesn't.
The video presentation as a whole looks less CG than the past Mortal Kombat game trailers ever shown. Which sets off my bullshit meter.
I swear I feel that there's more to it. The way the characters move and act and react to hits *at times* is the same as Mortal Kombat (2011), not the same animation, but like how they move and the timing of the animation.
Hell, I swear I even saw Sub-Zero's MK9 kicks, just slightly altered. And Sub-Zero throwing Scorpion is almost the same when throwing people in MKvsDCU. And when Scorpion breaks Subz arm only for Sub to punch him a few times and Scorpion does THAT little spin stumble, C'MON!!!
I'm not saying what we are seeing is all gameplay, it's just I swear it's like half and half here. Half gameplay, half CG.
The character designs, LOVE IT, I'm glad Scorpion looks like a ninja again.
I hope that snowy forest is a real stage. I love snow.
People say they learned nothing about this video when the possible evidence is totally there.
Obviously Injustice GAU elements are in the game which doesn't surprise me, I knew it would, but I just hate that it's there...I hated Injustice.
And it looks like parries/counters will make a return in a Dead or Alive 3 style, which might be part of the whole new character variation that's mention before.
Sub-Zero picks up a sword from the ground, MKD ground weapons returning?

Yeah, the characters had that rubbery "CGI from a movie made ten years ago" look to them in all of MK9's pre-rendered CGI trailers too. It looks like the same work as those, like the one where Kratos is revealed or the one with the Disturbed song, just Scorp and Sub are wearing different clothes.

Hype! Everything about this trailer made me happy. Could they have used someone else aside from sub and scorp...sure. Blah blah theyre the most recognizable faces blah blah blah smart marketing blah blah. It did its job. Got us talking.
Now give me some e3 gameplay and a character reveal or two to hold me over and this month is a success!

Loved the trailer, hated the song, like most people here.
I also think Metal or Industrial should be the soundtrack to this. They should have made a theme similar to Fulgore's theme on KI 2013, which is very reminiscent of Fear Factory, a band that was, after all, in the movie soundtrack, with the song Zero Signal, which is a killer track, and would be a way better fit for this kind of game. Listen to it:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=HgRdHcNgu48&feature;=kp
I'm actually not a hip-hop hater, I enjoy a lot of the early gangsta stuff from the 90's, but I think Hip-Hop and Rap suits Street Fighter much more than MK, which is gritty as fuck and should have heavy shit on it :)

I hope E3 has some in-game presentation. I don't expect a playable demo, but of course that's desired.

Ok, after reading through 15 pages here, I'll give my 2 cents....
First of all, it has to be expected that we're not going to see much revealed this soon. We'll be getting much more information at the time of E3.
Going by the trailer itself, OF COOOOUUUUURRRRSSSSEEE we're going to see Sub-Zero and Scorpion and OF COURRRRRRSSSSEEE Scorpion is going to win. This shouldn't be anything new to any of us. I used to be a fan of Scorpion, and I still prefer MK Legacy Scorpion, but overall, Scorpion is still a highly overrated character.
Having said that, I think his design in MK X is much better overall. His design in the last two games was garbage, absolute GARBAGE. Going back to a simpler base design while adding nice touches works much better. For Sub-Zero, I'm not entirely sure what to think of his look or what to make of the fact that we see a human Sub-Zero. I personally wasn't too pleased with how he turned out as a character in MK 2011.
After these past few years, I have come to keep my expectations very low for this series. I'm still a fan, and I do like MK 2011 overall. I do feel that for the most part, NRS is going in the right direction. However, it is a matter of time to see just how this game turns out.
Like I said in another thread, I'm really just asking for the gameplay to look and feel more fluid and responsive as well as be much better balanced.

To everyone who doesn't like the trailer and was disappointed with the lack of anything substantial shown... Do you remember the reveal trailer for Deadly Alliance? It JUST featured Scorpion doing moves and wearing a basic costume that he didn't even wear in the game.. While I would have liked to see more, I have a feeling this video was created JUST to show us that the new game was Mortal Kombat. I'm happy and am looking forward to a clearer picture come E3
The shitty rap song killed my hypeboner faster than you can say "Cyber-Zero". What the fuck were they thinking?
That aside, if we're to believe that it's actual gameplay footage, then we can assume...
>X-Rays
>those silly bonebreakers from MK4
>utilizing the environment in battle
>environmental weapons
are back in. Nice.
I really like the frozen forest arena. Unusually subtle and serene for MK. I wonder if it's supposed to be the Living Forest which got fucked up due to Shinnok's invasion or some such.
It has begun, I guess. Cautiously hyped about the new characters.

I do listen to Wiz(get @ me) but this one wasn't exactly his best work. Not bad though. 7.5/10

Saying you don't like something is called having an opinion. Why are so many people intent on insulting those who voice one aspect they don't like?

There should be 100% less hiphop/rap music in the game.

was very hype to see it. looked pretty nice. also has that mk4 dark feel and I hope it is just as brutal too.subz/scorps look good in their costumes also.
at the end of the day it still looks like the mk9 animation and the same sluggish moving attacks.
just wish they would go back to the mk3 style combos but updated.
ill wait until I see more but I know its will probably just be an updated mk9/injustice system again.
the rap song was avg not great not bad,.just there. could of had a way better soundtrack but they are marketing to the younger generation.
im surprised they didn't play macklemore same love

Loved the trailer. Got me super hyped.
Really not sure why people are going ape shit over the music, I thought it fit just fine. Had a nice ominous calm to it that both juxtaposed and complimented (if that makes sense) the violent fight rather well. Then again, even as a metal-head, I've always thought that good rap songs or at least rap instrumentals fit well for backing music for martial arts fight scenes. Like Afro Samurai. But whatever, different tastes and what not.
Getting off that tangent. Thought the character designs looked fantastic. Though I think people are reading too much into Sub Zero being human. It's just an announcement trailer. I think it's too early to be trying scrape out plot reasons for why the two poster characters for the series, the ones that are extremely identifiable even to those outside of their franchise's fan-base, would appear (in SZ's case his most recognizable form) in a cinematic trailer fighting one another.
If this came off sounding a little bitter, I'm not really trying to be. I guess I'm getting tired of people singling out one or two things that they don't like and firing off what reads like (at least to me) nuclear levels of hatred and condemnation for the entire product as a result.
Ah whatever, only real and definite thing to take away from this: NEW MORTAL KOMBAT GAME! Woo celebrate.
