Its actually the only saga I'd want to see in the dbz movie anyway, as it would wrap everything up in the story properly (bardock, goku's origins, saiyans planet destruction, etc.)

You shouldn't really count on seeing any of those except Piccolo, Frieza and King Cold.

Personally, I think a CGI film would be MUCH better idea for DBZ. My opinion, rather then a real, live actor film....

The already existing DB live action movie is a disaster,this Hollywood movie will be no different,it will SUCK too.

Everybody knows it's going to suck, perhaps you people should start making some posts with more meaning? This isn't a youtube video where you leave comments, it's a thread where you can have a discussion.

Personally, I would HATE a CGI movie. It would be ridiculous, wouldn't make any sense to remake the show into a 3D animated movie if it's already an animated show. If you're going to put it in theatres, it's either oldschool 2D animation or live action.

I wish they'd just resume the show with a season after GT. I really really miss it, and it would be very interesting to see how things go without Goku- the new season should happen after Goku leaves with Shenron and before the final moments where Goku sees his great grandson in the martial arts tournament. Gohan, Goten, Trunks, Vegeta would be the main characters. A Dragonball season with no Goku (or at least only on rare occasions) would be very interesting, and besides, there's still a lot of adventures to be seen - I mean, I'm sure at least Gohan and Goten went searching for Goku after he disappeared for such a long time.

I haven't watched much of the Dragonball Z series since Goku fought Freeza... So I don't know how bad the movie will come out.

It comes to mind that any new Dragonball series should actually be about the dragonballs and not about the fighting. No one's going to buy that, but since DBZ, there's no point even calling it dragonball, coz their only role is to bring people back to life at that point. Cell and Buu didn't even give a shit about them, they just wanted to annhilate everything.

If they were to begin a fourth series following GT, they'd have to start off fresh and with a new premise, other than the typical "good guy versus bad guy who wants to destroy the world, good guy beats bad guy" *rinse and repeat* Not to diss it or anything, but that formula has gotten old. Also, they'd have to give it a much more serious tone so that it can stand up to the other anime thats on TV nowadays.

And about the live action film, if it ever does get made, I can almost guarantee they're going to start off with a young Goku fighting against demon Piccolo Daimou. That's where the series started in anime form, so it'd only make sense to have it be the same in the movie. No other villians will be introduced, and while many dislike that, it is actually a very smart move. Too many villains all at once ruins the movie.

I don't understand how foolishly ignorant children like yourselves can let your own personal biases intervene on the behalf of opinion here. Granted the idea may not seem sound, but it HAS had its successes(Resident Evil, anyone???) and it's flops(*cough*MKAnihilation*Cough*) but given that there's so much story to work with, there stands to be a rather large ratio of success to failure.
For those who got lost, The chances of this movie succeeding are just as high as the chances of it failing. So let the movie be for now and if/when it comes out, THEN make your judgments then

actually, i would very much like to see the android saga used even if for a sequel.

i feel that having a mixture of a fiml with android 13-20 with cell and the cell games would be intense.

the hardest casting imo would be vegeta, hes got such an attitude that i dont think anybody in the world could pull it off. ever...

I'd like to elaborate a bit more on this ^^ another reason why I feel making a real,actor film with DBZ is just not a good idea is not so much of the fact that "it'll suck" (although I'm sure that will be the case), but rather the fact that the concept falling under a real movie just isn't there nor fit well as oppose to an animated movie.

Second, the pic above is a bit of a problem trying to cast the right people for each of these roles. Not saying jamshead's choice is wrong or bad, it's a nice attempt although difficult, however my point is I mean look at who they chose for Piccolo, James Marsters? He looks nothing like the character....and not to sound anti-anime or anything but let's face it. Almost all anime cartoons the faces of these characters all look alike...especially in DBZ so it's like hmmm let's cast this guy because he has spikey hair, that guy because he's got long hair etc, etc(even though they all look the same lol) James Marster's is not a good choice for that character. I thought I also remembered reading that they wanted to or did cast Orlando Bloom to play one of the bald characters with the eye in the middle? I have the movie mag pic somewhere but if they do that I'll just laugh....the casting jobs so far are beyond inaccurate from what I've seen.

Another reason why I feel they should stick to an animated film, it's simply more logical in DBZ's case and I honestly believe that the fact that it's a "cartoon" "animated movie" will give it brownie points as well, compared to a "real DBZ movie" which IMO is just a bad idea. You would think they learned from the first attempt...

As for the CGI, it's an idea but they can always stick to the 2D cartoon and make an actual 3 hour movie or something. Example, The Simpsons movie...or oldschool Transformers movie. I'd bet almost anything if they went this route it would get more people to check it out as oppose to "a live actor movie" DBZ.

You didn't see people trying to convert the Simpsons to "real actors" it would have been silly and most likely wouldn't have done nearly as well as the animated Simpsons movie did(which was good)
