Man this is a bummer to hear. I haven't gotten around to really trying him yet but I was wondering why I never came across JC players online.

Quan Chi (Summoner)- So fun to zone with. Absolutely NOBODY online blocks the second hit of his rune blast thing, I'm playing with an unblockable here. I probably have hella bad habits because of that. I eat Sub Zero Grandmasters for lunch tho.

Reptile (Noxious)- Nimble might be better in the long run, but I love my dirty Noxious set ups into 50/50's. And its great to win while people combo me (if their health is low enough) its the ultimate troll.

Worst
Shinnok (Necromancer)- It looks soooooo cool tho , but Shinnok is garbage. Anybody with half a clue on how to play MKX will beat Shinnok.

Goro- As hype as I was for him, I feel like for as difficult as it is to land his bnb's the pay off just isn't worth it. His gameplay is too difficult for such a low reward. His normals suck and he's slow as fuck. Haven't completely given up on him yet tho.

Those are the only characters I've played so far. I put a lot of time into who I pick to play as. Gotta know how to use them before I take them online.

Best:

Ninjutsu Scorpion.

Worst:

Ermac - Just horrible. A chore playing as him. Slow normals and gimmicky variations.

Quan Chi - I find him too slow and his combo's are annoying to pull off.

I'm going to define worst as characters I.don't have fun with while playing, I've played almost everybody to a degree cause I'm trying to get the tower trophy.

Everyone Else is okay and play them sometimes.

It's great to see so much variety. There seems to be a character for every play style.

Master of Souls is a blast. That disappear move is extremely useful. Although I'm pretty sure it won't save you from a throw. Soul Ball and Soul Release are fantastic moves added in this variation as well. .

After a few more trials and I've discovered that I'm no good with -

Johnny Cage, Jacqui, and Kenshi.

Not ready to call it quits with Jacqui or Kenshi though. Going to keep at it until I can pull something together. JC however....is a no-go.

I agree that is great. Hate seeing only a handful of characters getting used.

That said, holy shit I have been getting better with Erron Black and he has so much more potential than Kitana. Really makes the other player work.

Definitely. I'm actually considering buying a year of PS Plus. It seems that you'll catch a master for each character sooner or later. Which will no doubt keep things interesting. Only thing holding me back is my internet. I can't bring myself to spend $50 on a feature I won't be able to use when I'll only experience dropped games.

And Erron turned out much better than expected. Marksman is hella fun, but Outlaw is my favorite. Still have a lot of experimenting to do with him, but I've got a couple of good combos down already so that's a start.

However, I'm not too keen on Gunslinger. The Standoff stance is decent enough but that Koin Shot just doesn't suit me. Besides, Outlaw and Marksman already have me sold. Loving the use of that Tarkatan Blade. Especially the added combos.

Even though I haven't dedicated a lot of time to him, I am having trouble with Erron Black and I don't know why?

And although I wouldn't admit it at first, I have to come out and say I am pretty disappointed with Ermac in this game for some reason, idk he just doesn't seem right to me now. Maybe its his twig legs or his weird old man face but something just doesn't sit right with me lol I haven't even tried getting good with him (He is one of my favorite characters) because something about his design just rubs me the wrong way.

Ermac was always one of my favourites too, and I am in the same boat. Haven't even touched him.

I had trouble with Erron Black for a while too, but then I re-watched some of sonic fox's matches from fatal 8. Here's the advice I've got:

Forward Square, X, Down Back Circle (might have to move closer), then Back X, Triangle, Up Square.

That keeps it short, But the first string hits overhead then low then down back circle stuns. The forward square has great reach and not too bad of start up frames. Back X, Triangle, Up Square starts with a low hit and launches them extremely high. You can jump punch after and do whatever, the best I've found is the Triangle, Square Square, Triangle Triangle into slide or the command grab.

Oh yeah, that reminds me, command grab is very hand once they get used to the high low startup. Also wake-up meter burn sand stun is very handy. Same with armored slide.

I'm still having trouble deciding my characters, so many I'd like to know.

There's so many characters I wish I was good at, particularly Takeda and Kung Lao but there combos and button usage doesn't fit with me like some of the others. I don't know if anyone understands what I mean but yeah. Also the fact that Takeda's spinning kick is awkward to land and Kung Lao's longer chain fist combos and such are really difficult to land, especially in the moment. Shinnok, Quan Chi and Ermac are all just awkward spell casting, Quan chi in particular who has weird inputs AND I find his delivery to slow for my liking.
The others I just don't look into too much but Johnny Cage.... Johnny feels so basic. Like he's only meant to be played for the start of this game in the first chapter. However I've heard of a lot of potential from the Stunt Double variation.

From the Middle I can all play the, but not too amazing I suppsoe. Just well over the basics.

For my best, I have mastered all the abilities, know them by heart can apply at best situation and string them into comba. Not to mention the memorised inputs and fatalities.

Sweet dude, thanks a ton, ill try some of this out today and see how it goes! Ill take him into practice and mess around with him and try to put some stuff together and see what happens :)
