It was reported by redman in another thread and upon digging for more info, I found out Paulo Garcia revealed it on Twitter on April 22nd.

For those who don't know, you can play without using the variations :

during hidden variation selection you can hit Y/Triange to select no variation if you want to show off & play at a disadvantage #MKX

Personally I like to play as Kitana with no variation. I just like the simple special moves and it still covers her face with the veil wink
