People, if this ever did happen I'm SURE no one will be able to just submit any old costume. They would ideally be voted on and vetted. I'm talking best of the best here. You can post horrid costumes all you like, but that doesn't change the fact there are some truly amazing artists in the MK community

I'm feeling this idea.. This needs to be one of the threads that the developers should pay attention to.

Lol, yeah, I love how some people's first reaction is to find the worse (in their opinion) costume example they can find and post it up as if it justifies why such an idea would be bad. It's like they just read the thread title and then hit reply as fast as they can.

Obviously there would be a voting system, either made available to the public or internal at NRS to decide which costume submissions were the best. It's not like it would be *whoever submits first, WINS the contest and that's the costume we're going with!* #dumb.

I hear ya, Professer. I think it would be a neat idea, too, since there really is a rich pool of talented artists within the MK community. It would also be a good and harmless way of engaging the community and making it a part of the development process.

Side note, that Kitana costume posted by martin is bitchin. I'd take that for an alt!

I think it would be a fun idea for extra skins!...The game's art team should choose their favourites tho, it would prevent trollish options winning.

I'd happily vote for anything from JAX007 and EmperorKahn. Amazing artists.

It never hurts to have options. So yeah, I could see somethin like this being cool. I agree with JAX though, I wouldn't want it left up to fan vote. I say they allow submissions, then they pick their favorites, and design a couple of them. For every character would be a bit tedious, but 2-3 would be cool. If anything, the fan vote could be for which characters get the outfits. Then artists can send in ones for those characters. That'd probably work best.

Yeah, I think it could be a lot of fun and pretty engaging. And with all the great designs I have seen from members on MKO alone I think it would be wonderful for us to get to see some of those costumes brought to life!

I like that! But yeah, I wouldn't want it for every character, but maybe a few of the returning ones. I agree, NRS should be the ones who decide which costumes make it in.

I love that idea. Think of the variety. Costumes in MK can be very samey.

So your argument was the most horrifying fanart costume you could find online? Please. There are so many amazing artists out there that have made costumes that are 10 times better than some of the ones we've seen in the games.
Even I as a designer have been amazed at times by the amount of some fans' talent. Let alone amateur ones.

If every character had somewhat of a Blizzard touch, I'd definitely would be going ape shit crazy. There's some wonderful works of art I'd definitely would vote for if there was ever a competition to see who's work would get into the game.
