Would This MK crossover be as Hyped as . . .

Now I know alot of MK fans are tired of hearing about Mk cross this & Mk cross that but this random question came into my head. You Know how in Japan in the 90's The two main rival fighting game companies where Capcom & SNK (or more so Street Fighter & King Of Fighters?) Well remember when they finally collaborated & made Capcom vs SNK in 2000 & it was so hyped that the intro to the game was this . . .

Well it got me thinking, Whom would be the USA equivalent of that rivalry. Well seeing as how the two most well known fighting games to be developed by us are Mortal Kombat & Killer Instinct & with KI making a (So Far A Good) comeback this year would in the next 5 to 10 years if this game were to be developed,would a MK vs KI be as hyped for us as Capcom vs SNK was for Japan?

Seeing as how CvS worked cause they have alot of similarities so do MK & KI (Combos,Blood, Fatalities, Stages Fatalities, Friendship/Humiliations, Interesting Character) Also in an interview about 6 months ago a guy who was on the KI/Microsoft team even said that they plan to make the KI series still going putting out more KI & even said it was possible for a MK character to be in a KI game & vice versa, The video will do better explaining of you watch.

So now to my fellow MK fans in a realistic time of 5 - 10 years from now allowing KI to regain exposure again while doing more awesome MK in a two part question

1.) If this game were to be announced in the given time frame above will it be as hype for us as CvS was for it's side of the world? ( Even tho we all were probably excited lol)

2.) Do you agree that the rivalry if any between MK & KI is the USA equivalent to Japan's SF & KOF rivalry?

Street Fighter was more of a rival to Mortal Kombat than Killer Instinct ever was.

But I honestly think KI meshes with MK a lot better.

SF vs MK is like trying to put together Teletubbies and Robot Chicken.
No. Just no. I don't see it ever working to benefit both franchises. One game would have to give up too much of their own core to compensate for the other. That's probably why they're making Tekken vs SF to compliment the shit that was SF vs Tekken.

Well I was comparing how in Japan SF's Rivial was KOF to in America MK's Rivial was/is KI. The reason I say KI is because it was also like MK made by American dev's. I was really asking if a MKvsKI game were to come out in about anywhere from 5 - 10 years from now will it be as hyped as when the first CvS game came out for Japan?

Wouldn't that end up being like MK vs DC? Plus Marvel is real close with Capcom & have been for years when it came to Marvel's best fighters so . . . .yeah . . . .cool idea but idk

No. MK vs. KI doesn't get the same kind of requests that MK vs. SF gets. Not only that, but KI is now a first party Microsoft game. MK is a Multiplatform game, so anyone who doesn't have an Xbone won't get excited for a crossover they can't enjoy.

Plus MK never really had a rivalry with KI in the first place. MK's main competition has always been Street Fighter. But I do think MK10 will get a KI character guest for the Xbone version. That's about as close as we can get to MK vs. KI.

The only thing I see is having their most popular character be a guest character in a future game only for the Xbox version like how Kratos was for Playstation.

I don't see a cross over game for these two.

MK vs Marvel! They should do this. With a wide range of characters from both sides, unlike MKvsDC had...a select few.
With the likes of Deadpool, Megneto, Loki, Human Torch etc..the game would be grand!

As I've said before, i've wanted a MKvsKI crossover for a while, the common themes, settings and gameplay would probably mesh quite well. As an idea it's a fanboy dream.

The problem is, as Icebaby stated, the exclusivity of KI now to microsoft. I hated missing out on even one character for MK9, so missing out on an entire game based on preferred platform would be just grossly unfair.

Of course, i fit into this category already, since i don't own nor expect to own any new -gen console, so i'll end up missing out on the next MK altogether.

Well didn't Neo-Geo also face a similar problem, I remember only a selected few of there games went to other systems such as playstaion, Dreamcast & etc . . . The rest of them were released for the Neo-Geo Console only similar to KI being released for XBOX ONE. Just stating this is all.

MKSF will never happen because they don't fit, MKvsKI will never happen because KI belongs to MS and WB wants more $.

No more crossovers, Adventure spin offs > Crossovers.
