Uh, no. Right off the bat, there is barely anything Johnny that can be found on Cassie in terms of aesthetics, except some (optional) aviators and (optional) green glow. As for Sonya... Please, let's not pretend that the parallels being drawn between her and her daughter's appearance aren't mere speculation, barring the blonde hair*.
The glasses. The green energy. Cassie, Sonya, and Johnny all have highly mobile/acrobatic fighting styles. Cassie thus far seems very kick heavy like her mother. Both hardass blonde military women. Has her father's cocky yet humorous personality etc etc. The similarities are there and undeniable. I mean of course she'd be aesthetically similar to them, they raised her and probably taught her how to fight. It's nothing bad. It just is.

The glasses and green energy were something that I already brought up when pointing out the few aesthetics elements Cassie borrows from her dad, and we're talking about appearance, not personality or background. It's highly speculative to say that if Johnny and Sonya were to be in the game, they'll all be highly mobile/acrobatic fighters or look similar at all. If MK9 is any indication, Cassie's already far removed from both her parents in terms of looks and playstyle.

Aesthetic isn't all about looks. It's how your perceive something, how it comes across to people. For all her differences Cassie comes across as similar to her parents it both look and attitude and as of right now gameplay. Is she a carbon copy of either of them? Not at all. Can we see the Blade/Cage influence on her? Absolutely.
... But it is all about looks. That's basically what the word means. confused

You're talking about perception. And you perceive them as similar in looks even though they're not as of right now, and assume they could be just by virtue of them raising her.

noun: aesthetic; plural noun: aesthetics; noun: esthetic; plural noun: esthetics
1. a set of principles underlying and guiding the work of a particular artist or artistic movement.

Apparently from the greek aisthesthai, to perceive.

If you don't see the visual similarities between Cassie and her parents or the similarities in characterization then you're being obtuse and there's really nothing I can do for yousleep

hmm probably. As much as I love Sheeva, the fact that we have a shokan in the game, would probably be overkill in a game injected with steroids and viagra.

I wouldn't be surprised if they turned up in the background along with most of the old cast.

Kintaro definitely.

I think we will see Kano ruining Sheeva's plans to kill Kahn in the story mode and then she gets the ax. No playable.

I would rather Sheeva and Kintaro sit this one out.

If you can't see pretty much everything you assert is an assumption... Then, well, you know... sad

I like Sheeva. I'd rather see her included than Kintaro.

That depends. If we're talking about the limited development window where the developers have to prioritize characters and go through the whole process of implementing them into the game, and not everyone can make it in, then I would say three shokans is overkill.

However, if we're talking about after all that's done in the magical world of DLC,I'd say anything goes.

Cassie has green highlighted flip kips like Johnny in MK9, the military stance tackle of Sonya, the dive kick of Sonya, the cartwheel of Sonya, Johnny's nut punch, the list goes on and on angry fanboy. Hell if Cassie had been introduced as Sonya nobody would have thought anything of it, other than why she had some Johhny Cage type moves. Shes a cocky blonde military chick just like Sonya but with a different hair style lol. And I'm not even trying to knock her, I think its awesome how they combined two characters in such a unique way. And she's not a rip off by any means, but to say she isn't similar to how her parents played, looked, and acted in MK9 is just dumb. I can't imagine why saying such a thing would even bother you when she was so clearly designed as a homage to her parents while still having enough of her own style to warrant being a new, original character.
Several of those moves don't even work or were designed to look the same way, in case you haven't noticed. If you really think people wouldn't have noticed the difference between Cassie and Sonya, then I suggest you and those hypothetical people check your eyes. The different haircut, the facial/ body structure, the full bodysuit, the usage of weapons such as batons and guns, air missiles, her propensity to chew bubble gum, etc. You mean to tell me ALL THAT points to Sonya? Do you even know of the character you're yapping about? XD

Cassie isn't even blue-eyed so that "if Cassie was introduced as Sonya nobody would notice" argument is BS

In my opinion, Sheeva wouldn't be overkill as a playable character alongside Goro. I feel like Motaro would. Either way, it would be cool if they make cameos in story mode if they aren't playable.

Oh look, another Cage discussion in a thread that has nothing to do with them.

I'm actually surprised to see how many want Kintaro back. Hooray!!!

I'd be really interested to see how they would approach having two Shokan fighting in very different ways. They are meant to be a race of warriors, surely they'd have developed all sorts of martial arts.

Sheeva is my favourite so I hope she returns but even if she doesn't another lady Shokan would be awesome... Maybe Queen Mai! (Imagine the intro between her and Goro!)

Sheeva was always supposed to be the most agile and swift out of the Shokan. You can tell Goro and Kintaro are more bulky, slow and powerful by their MK9 gameplay. Sheeva isn't exactly the fastest character in the game but she still is quicker than her Shokan counterparts. I would also love her to return, but it won't happen.
