I'm a just pop in with a story idea I've been thinking about. Was gonna do a Sektor Mythology sprite comic.

The jist was Human Sektor was Japanese, Takeda's decendant. His family in the Lin Kuei has been persecuted for Takeda's dishonour, thus Sektor set out to restore his own honour by being the LK's loyal agent. While Sub-Zero was retrieving the map to the Temple of Elements in the Shaolin Temple during Mythologies, Quan Chi again visited the Lin Kuei. This time sending Sektor to retrieve a piece of tech for the automation process in Chaosrealm. It harboured a Gremlin, which posessed Sektor's body sucessfully because, in his last act of honour to the Lin Kuei, Sektor commited ritual suppuku, wiping out the last of Takeda's blood from the Earth, but destroying Sektor's soul because he committed suicide.

I like the start. Sektor being a Japanese ninja is interesting, and it would explain why the Tekunin originated in Japan. His family being descendants of Takeda is also quite brilliant. It ties Sektor to Scorpion in an interesting way. Love that. Now, the Quan Chi stuff is where I could go either way. Perhaps he thinks Sektor could be his key to taking over Earthrealm? It's curious stuff. The gremlin is a bit...meh. I understand that you're trying to explain what makes Sektor "evil." I'd much rather see Quan Chi just put a curse on the cybernetic ninja technology which allows him to control Sektor. But even then, I could do without Quan Chi's involvement.

The seppuku stuff is also unneccessary. Maybe I'm just not getting the full idea. I think Sektor being the first to step up for transhumanisation is brilliant, tragic, and flows so naturally from his character's burden to restore honour to his family. As for why he turns "evil," perhaps they just have it in Sektor's programming? The Grand Master of the Lin Kuei could have done something with Sektor's programming -- two overriding objectives:

1) Loyalty to the Lin Kuei at all cost
This would follow his natural inclination, and this could, ironically, be what does the Grand Master in. Sektor evaluates the situation logically, as any good cybernetic ninja should, and decides that he is more fit to run the Lin Kuei. He doesn't do it for ambition. He does it because (whoops) the Grand Master programmed him to. This could also be an interesting play on that old sci-fi fear of robots taking us over once we invent them.

As for why he doesn't still seem to care about this objective -- perhaps killing the Grand Master caused a paradox within him that just froze it out?

2) To take over Japan
This would be a sad twist to the Japanese Sektor, because his family, clan and such all resided there. It's his homeland, and ultimately he is just a pawn for the Lin Kuei to take it over. But the poor Grand Master has been killed by Sektor at this point (sucks to be him), and Sektor does so for his new Tekunin clan.
