I'm not all too familiar with Dante, simply never played the games and I only know who he is by reference and...what was that crossover fighting game? Was it Marvel vs Capcom?

But I'd be lying if I said you haven't sold me on the idea. I agree with you about Mad Max and I'm also rooting for Spawn (since it's gotta be somebody).

I guess I shouldn't jump yet though, since I only knew Kratos by name and as the God of War, but I thoroughly enjoyed him in MK9.


Yeah classic Dante was in the Marvel vs Capcom games, he is awesome, but I do think that if any Dante was to be a guest in MKX, it would be the current version, much like how we had reboot Freddy in MK9 lol

Anyway new Dante looks like a normal human with black hair and a trench coat, really not too impressive design wise. His weapons though, are another story.

This is a short video of somebody kind of briefly going over his weapons and how each of them work, its kind of boring, but when I watch it, I see so many things that would be perfect specials, he has launches, combos, juggles, ranged attacks, close range attacks, charges, charged attacks, you name it, the only thing he is missing is a teleport really.

I might be overhyping it a bit but I know that NRS could make him an absolute monster in a MK game if they wanted to lol

The Dante im referring to isn't Japanese. I can see why people might think he is "emo" because of his black hair x Trench coat combo but his character isn't really emo imo

Well i hate guest characters and wish they would give the slot to an actual MK character..... But since we have no choice, yes I think Dante could work rather well in MK, much better than most of the other rumoured and speculated characters.... And i think i'm one of the few who actually likes reboot Dante

DMC1-4 Dante all the way,his combo abilities are dope in those games,Vergil is another beast,specially in UMVC3,but that's another story and another game/engine,dont know what Dante/Vergil would play if made by NRS but that's too much thinking because not gonna happen.

I hate Dante (both incarnations) so no. He'd be fun but if we were getting a Capcom character I'd take Akuma or Wesker.

Man, you know I had the same thought about the Shadow of Mordor character while watching the 2nd Hobit movie this evening...started thinking it would be cool to have an Orc character or an elf warrior as an MKX guest, then I started thinking Talion would make sense given the WB factor. I think it's a worthy theory.

Dante could be fun. He could have two other variants based on Virgil and Nero, complete with these two as alts.

Dante absolutely must have the Nevan Guitar as part of his moveset. Damn I loved that weapon.

DmC Dante would actually be really cool. Naturally, hair turns white for one or two variations. Haha

Actually, Ive been getting Dante vibes from Mavado in the comics, so having Dante wouldn't be that off-key from MKX's tone at all.

Reality time:

Dante is Capcom. If Capcom won't play ball with Ryu, Akuma, etc. I wouldn't hold my breath for Dante. I don't think Capcom would be cool with one of their main Poster Boys getting Brutalized.

Still would love reboot Dante in MKX tho. Maybe for MKZ? grin

I'm not against guest characters but I'm not a fan of the dmc series. Ash Williams is my favored choice, swamp thing or predator would be next.

I thought I read somewhere that CapCom filed for bankruptcy? If so, lending their characters will be a good idea for free advertising. I'd definitely take Dante over Ash, Jason, Predator, and Mad Max.

Dante was my main character in PSABR, so I'd be down to get him again. Guest characters seem to be the new thing for Mortal Kombat. I was ok with Freddy but there's not a huge list of guys I'd be ok with. Spawn, Predator, Jason and Dante are all fine with me.

Wesker would be another person I wouldn't mind seeing in, Akuma as well.

I hate the idea that only WB related characters can be guests in MK, I am not a huge fan of guests but since they are coming if we like it or not id rather them not limit themselves like that.

Personally I'm not a fan of guest characters. That being said, I wouldn't mind the old Dante, but not the Justin Beiber reboot.

I enjoyed those for the most part. Although it's been at least 3 years since I've played any of them. If I remember correctly, Dante was actually one of my mains. Him, Wesker, and Nemesis. He had quite a diverse and powerful arsenal.

If he ended up as the guest, at least I could say I have played as him before. Different style, sure, but the familiarity would be comforting.

I think my main gripe with two of the guest rumors is that I don't see what's unique about them that they'd have to offer MK. Mad Max and Ash Williams. A dystopian police road runner and a zombie/evil dead slasher (cuz we don't have enough of those tongue). I can't really hold that against the characters themselves, but it just boils down to me not having a single interest. Neither are my forte. Regardless, I'll force myself to try whoever it ends up being at least once, because ya never know.

I have actually never played a MVC game before, not too long ago I was going to get 3 but I just never got around to it lol

Yeah I also have no interest in Mad Max, idk if that's because ive never watched the movies or what but he just seems "eh" to me.

I do love Ash Williams and Evil Dead so I would be happy with him being in even if I have do trouble picturing what he would look and play like in MK lol

I will likely play as whoever we get as a guest at least a few times though.
