I'd love to see the final select screen. I'm not asking for all the characters to be revealed on it, but if the roster is indeed more than 24+Goro, I'd love to get a glimpse at the final number with grayed out squares if that is indeed the case.

Why do people expect more than 24 at this point, you're only setting yourself up for disappointment. I can see them maybe adding 2 more if they had enough time to fully create characters. I doubt it, because Goro was first DLC and now in the roster from the start, which suggests there was space to put him in and they do not intend to put more characters in imo.

Remember that there will be at least 28 with the 4 DLC..

The latest build from the NRS streams has 26 character slots. And I'm fine with that.

But I still wonder... is there enough space for the DLC character icons? I want the final select screen to be like Injustice, all DLC are directly accessible. Not a fan of MK9's solution.

We will not see the final version until release. Just having fun and guessing here. Imo, based on the current select screen made for this thread there is at least ten characters left to reveal counting DLC. (Six spots plus four DLC)

Making this fake select screen, I noticed something interesting:

1. One row has 12 gaps between the individual character icons. Two rows = 24 gaps.

2. The width of 6 gaps = the width of 1 character icon.

3. So, I think there will be only 4 DLC characters. Their character icons will eliminate all the gaps to the very last pixel.

There's always a chance for more DLC characters, but they'll have to resize the icons. Or... another possibility is: the question mark in the middle serves as an upward expansion of the select screen, similar to how the DLC characters appeared in MK9.

I too am very interested in seeing the final Select Screen design. Not all the characters, just the final layout. There are still important things missing from the current build which makes me think the select screen we've been seeing is largely for demo purposes only. It also just lacks a lot of polish overall, compared to the select screen in Injustice for example.

As far as roster count goes, the fact that the character icons are just floating boxes further implies that the current stream build is fluid and temporary. As of right now the layout looks very un-dlc friendly too. Like I said, there's just a lot of basic functionality missing in the stream builds that tell me this is a demo select screen. Hoping for something with a bit more polish in the final build.

The DLC should indeed be good integrated this time, not of that MK9 stuff.
Just leave room for boxes to be added, it shouldn't be that hard.
